wouldn't the campaign for north africa be a perfect candidate to be played as a videogame rather than a pure board game?

I assume a computer would be able to keep in mind all the hundreds of rules the game has, and would automate a lot of the computations.

That's a meme game made to parody overly complicated war games like advanced squad leader which has unfortunately been taken out of context by nogames who don't know about the games it's supposed to be parodying.
>>

Irrelevant for my question.

My question is if that game, even if it's a parody, can be coded in a modern game engine like godot.

A lot of tabletop games are a collection of math and rules. I'm pretty sure a video game is pretty good at handling math and rules.
>>

Probably wouldn't be as funny or much fun, since it would require a trillion checks a turn.

I mean, I sort of want to code the rules in godot, but I wonder if there's already some implementation of that game as a videogame.

Back to trolling solo-anons in /bgg/ with you!
>>
>>96947500
Yes, Godot would make much of the heavy lifting in the game palatable, letting you actually enjoy the game more than once in a lifetime.

Frankly, anon, the "trillion checks a turn" thing is the main thing I bring up because outside of that, what exactly else is notable about the game? There's plenty of war simulator board games not nearly as intentionally clunky that afik function just fine. Cut out all the intentionally derpy rules, and what's left?

tbf Hex and Chit have been completely supplanted by Video games for a more complex Grand Strategy experience and Miniature-based games for more smaller combat-oriented ones

Unless it's something like Fading Suns then no not really. Paradox GSGs are just cookie clicker games with absolutely awful AI.
>>
>>96947490
It can be coded.
How well it's coded depends on the skill of the programmer, how much time they have, and if it's done solo or partitioned between other coders and asset designers.
>>
>>96947490
It actually is relevant, because it has multiple joke rules and the air combat rules are nonsensical at best and may not even be fully functional because they were never tested.

War in the East and similar games are not.

It would be fun to see the water levels of each unit, plenty of people already play autism spreadsheet sims
