Some talkshow hosts in the 80s would air segments about satanic worship, but they would never name individuals since that would open them up to defamation lawsuits. You had a market of cheap VHS tapes about the topic, usually made as a quick moneymaking scheme by grifters or sincere videos from protestant fundamentalists.
