The CC setting is explicitly teaming with all sorts RE mutated creatures, from animals turned into monsters to fallen cultivators to various undead that steadily mutate into more threatening forms if not culled. Those are higher power but lower skill opponents that are perfect fodder for VV, no post hoc-writing needed, you just have to have a decent reading level and a bit of creativity. Though the undead numbers drop off once you leave Earth certain other worlds are teaming with beasties to kill, places like the world the Hunting Grounds treasure leads to is filled with nasty critters to pad your kill count once you get stronger.It's just a high risk, high reward Method where you have to put yourself in harms way on a regular basis but can advance quickly. And it actually synergizes Machine if you do it that way because hunting RE mutated creatures also happens to be a great method for gathering materials.
