Do you want to take inspiration from something, or do you want to just wing it and see where it goes? The only thing you need to consider when making your own is "am I satisfied with this outcome?". As for the second half, god knows how many niches exist out there that haven't been touched on. There's /d/ levels of shit that have been mostly untouched or vaguely hinted towards, with scat and futa being as far as things go in that regard. Even then, the scat part is just a princess who's dirty and the futa part is a major point of contention because a fluctuating number of people will either cheer or jeer at Holstaur Princess, the cow with a cock. Holstaur is also the only princess who was completely redesigned by Gats, the original creator; in her last depiction, she no longer covers futa as a fetish, and has been de-cocked.There have been cases of people making the same concept princesses as one another, most notably being Pumpkin Princess, but each variation is unique to the person who made them. Sometimes a similar princess is followed by a Roman numeral, while other times they aren't. There's no real strict rules in this regard, especially since the concept is free for all after all these years (though only a few ancient names seem to even still be doing anything), Let your creativity flow, and change anything that you feel like changing after getting feedback. Or just post it and be happy without feedback. The choice is yours and yours alone in that regard.
