>>96995967I posted about this when I read it in the codex. Or some kind of spooky golem that has four different faces.

Boasting advanced augur and vox arrays as well as multiple, powerful, logic engines the Rosetta's command and control systems can manage fronts across an entire sector and as such has ever been the chapter's flagship. In M38 the Rosetta suffered an ambush by Dark Eldar raiders, and would have been destroyed by its port side magazine breach if there had been anything left in the magazine to detonate. After the debacle its weapon batteries were replaced by less volatile laser batteries, and its lance pairs were reduced to single ultra-long-range lances, but its capability to launch multiple companies of space marines single-handedly was never diminished, even as its compliment of attack craft was increased. As such the Rosetta now enjoys a permanent escort of at least four frigates, an assignment considered esteemed, if at times dull.

>>96996392Postan Malakim's Ante were a small strike team of Lamenters, sent off to the far reaches of the galaxy to reclaim lost wargear in hopes of bolstering the diminished armory of the chapter. While searching the edge of the Ghoul Star's they received a call from Baal claiming a massive Tyranid hivefleet was approaching the homeworld of the Blood Angels and that their assistance was required to help fend off the assault. Upon setting off through the warp for Baal they encountered a massive warp storm and became stranded for what felt like 100 days. Unbeknownst to them, this was the machinations set forth by the great Khorne Daemon Prince Cha'gath Akz'Hur, who continually cast teeming hordes of daemonic entities upon the castaway marines. During their time spent within the space between realities, a large portion of their forces became stricken with the curse carried by their progenitors, known as the Red Thirst and Black Rage. Large portions of the strike team were lost to the infighting, and those that survived carried with them a great shame left from delivering the Emperors Peace to their former brethren. Those that carried the burden of felling the most of their kin became known as The Benevolent, and began to paint their armour in colours of mourning, as a means of recognizing the great sin they had committed. Eventually the warp entity seemed to grow tired of toying with the marines and spat them out into the orbit of Baal where they could witness the true destruction that befell the once great homeworld. Stricken with the grief of losing their brothers, the shame of failing to aid the Blood Angels in time, they set out on the galaxy with a new quest. One of hatred. One of revenge. To seek out the dark forces that tore their family asunder, they now patrol the edge of the Great Rift stalking whatever occult evils that unfortunately find themselves in their path.

>>96996126Semi-related but my favorite interpretation of the Tau so far has been that they're basically four castes of psychos kept sane by the guidance of the Ethereals.Fire-warriors are often mistaken as wimpy but these guys are hot-blooded as all fuck and actually like fighting, there's a reason even Khorne tries to recruit them. When an Ethereal dies, after they get over their shock, they don't run away, they usually go on the attack and refuse to stop attacking until every single enemy in front of them is dead, they become more ruthless without the ethereals. Farsight is a fire caste and he's basically the Tau's version of Colonel Kurtz, and the fire caste as a whole engage in lovely little rituals like cutting each other on bonding knives to share their blood. The Earth caste meanwhile seems to engage in fucking crazy engineering projects when not told to be chill by the Ethereals. They see a Titan and they want to build something twice as big. It's only now that the Tau have finally kept running into bigass enemies that they finally cut the Earth caste somewhat loose, but even then they still keep a lid on them because, as the farsight enclaves show, if you don't hold back the Earth caste they will literally carve the entire fucking planet into a dodecahedron just to show that they can.
>>96996392Chapter of marines that was founded from Black Dragons stock, got the same ossmodula mutation that causes them to grow larger than average and grow horns and the fore arm blades. The chapter's marines prefer to forge and modify their own gear since most standard issue stuff just doesn't fit because it tends to be too small to be of use in their hands.Due to their increased size and strength they are mostly well rounded but prefer using heavy weapons and heavier armor, and act as heavy fire support and heavy vanguard if they find themselves fighting alongside other chapters. Obviously many chapters don't like them due to their outward appearance.

>>96996392This is long but whatever, I'm vibing:Ghyra Jade Guardians. They protect not only the Emperor's physical body like all Custodes, but each member of this host also protects His vision. This would not be a problem, but the vision they fight for are the Emperor's original vision of unity, found during the Great Crusade. From 10000 years ago. Many Imperial worlds found salvation from the predatory hands of xenos and traitors thanks to the Jade Guardians' fierce and merciless intervention.Yet some Imperial worlds were found to not follow the precepts of the Imperial Truth and were put to the torch by the Custodes Host.Indeed, many inhabitants of overtly zealous Shrine Worlds, Forge Worlds that seem too self serving and autonomous, worlds led by governors who are too independent bordering on treason, and primitive worlds whom the Imperial Truth has not reached far enough were cleansed or censured by the tip of guardian spears. Some worlds die kneeling, as they are too awestruck by the presence of the Emperor's Companions to realise they have been found wanting.Yet these brutalities are not without reason nor result. Many Chaos cults infect the local variant of the Ecclesiarchy. Many Fabricator Generals and world governors dream of treason and independance. All are cut down by these guardians of the Imperial Truth.Although venerated to the point of worship by most of the Imperium. The Ghyra Jade Guardians' adherence to the ancient Imperial Truth gives them some friction with the Ecclesiarchy. Worship of the Emperor as Divine is a necessary evil, but it must remain as sanitised as possible in the eyes of this Shield Host. Not even the Inquisition is spared, for many a too radical or puritan inquisitors found their end by a Jade Guardian. But let it be remembered that the Jade Host will fight to the last to protect loyal Imperial worlds from the threats the galaxy has to offer. From without and within. As the Great King on Terra Himself decreed.

>>96996392>Black TemplarsThe Adanac Reach Crusade, a borderline heretical force of Black Templars that have been insularly crusading in the eastern fringe of of the galaxy since before the emergence of the Cicatrix Maledictum. Their high command has been slowly growing insane in their long years of isolation from the wider Imperium, with the Marshal claiming conquered and protected worlds as a personal fiefdom and the corruption of Slaanesh slowly eating away at his soul as he grows ever more prone to fits of vainglory, hubris and insensate wrath. The Crusade is nearly on the precipice of a civil war, as the chaplains of its reclusiam find themselves increasingly at odds with the cronyism of the Marshal's command cadre of Castellans and Sword Brethren. I feel like it's important to have a reason why a nominally loyal force of Space Marines would find themselves fighting other loyal Imperial elements frequently, and Black Templars are at their core a band of insane, murderous madmen.

>>96996392House Fransham:"Strength is Dominion"House Fransham is a belligerent and brutal Imperial Knight household, infamous across the Imperium for its unwavering devotion to overwhelming force and unsubtle warfare. House Fransham holds strength and destruction as sacred virtues, its battle doctrine centered around annihilation above all else. Knights of House Fransham often disobey wider strategic objectives if it means they can engage a more formidable target, driven by a near-religious zeal to break the enemy’s will through sheer might. In campaign reports, they are notorious for abandoning flanks, chasing down warlords, or leveling enemy fortresses simply to prove their supremacy.Notable members of the house include Sir Gallica piloting Thorn (pictured), one of the more refined knights. They also have Icenia piloting Prasutagus, the ruler of a feral world tribe, Prasutagus is a knight lancer which has been piloted by a succession of feral world hunters and as such fights with guerilla tactics (back when we had mystic guardian). The last ruler of House Fransham, Lord Bigod, tired of the politics of day to day life, drained by the constant betrayals, funerals, etc, abdicated and now pilots the house's porphyrion, Norvic. There are also a number of units who support the knights in battle, such as the Line Wardens (navy breachers) who consist of nobles who want to earn the right to pilot a knight on the battlefield. They are usually lead by the Ledger Court (Rogue trader entourage) which consists of the master of coin and other high-ranking nobles Back before knights got nerfed I would play them in a deliberately non-tactical manner, just aiming to kill my opponent's army and not score objectives. The imperial agent units were my main method of scoring since they were often the actual brains behind the operation. It actually worked quite well because my opponent would often try to engage the knights in a similar fashion instead of focussing on the objective

>>96997682You phrased this quite bizarrely and it's difficult to follow your meaning. The xmas boxes do offer significant savings of like $50-100. If you're buying from a discounter the gap between what you pay and MSRP obviously widens even further. And if you wait a year GW will do their annual price rise and each kit in the box will probably go up $2-4 or whatever. Plus there are constantly products out-of-stock that may be contained within a bundle box.So there's a ton of room for profit for a scalper.

Also using ogryn rules for a special unit I made for my regiment meant to be a high depth diving suit>SummaryThey come from the ocean world of Atlantinn, the planet's economy is structured around big underwater hives with the lowermost levels being at abyssal depth mining extremely precious metals and industrial materials many of which are key for the imperium's armies in the entire sector, many of the citizens of the underhive grow overly boney with pale and unhealthy skin alongside serrated teeth for eating out fish rations while the nobles enjoy noble feasts with enormous halls built around reefs vibrating with life. The citizens have extremely family like relationships with the native fauna and often times talk to octopuses or fish as kin, the inquisition is unsure as to the sentience of these little sea critters but they're pretty confidently leaning towards just an advanced intelligence. The Atlantinns love their fish so much they enhance them with all sorts of trinkets to be able to ride or bring them on land and decorate their artillery pieces with cute little starfish and shark teeth markings. They have high tech pressure suits for underwater mining and are known to enlist in grand hunts for massive underwater titans where the winner gets spoils, a meaningless title and most importantly gets to keep all the food!

Slightly more realistic desires for 11th>PPM>Restore the impact of melta and missle launcher weapons without using a unit ability as a crutch. Make powerfist and thunderhammer equivs "fights last" on a per model basis and make them scary again>Bring back Wargear costs but keep generic profiles for weapons that dont merit their own, such as power axes vs swords and mauls. >Have vehicles lose functions when bracketed, be it movement, shots, ballistic skill, OC.>Re-rolls cant be better than results of 1>psychic phase with reworks. I'd prefer a fatigue system with more disciplined Psykers being able to endure more fatigue counters over the course of the game. Make deny the witch available to every army. If the power isn't a gun then it cant be countered in the first battle round.

I know nothing about the NuSquats, but I am a bit confused by what I've heard superficially. Basically, the way I've had it explained is that they they are better and more technologically advanced than the IoM in all ways, but they are bunch of cloned midges. This normally wouldn't bother me (Necrons are more advanced, Tau are in some ways, D/Eldar are), what bugs me is that it sounds like GW just wanted to make a faction that is just the IoM but better-er like a child might. Using the same weapons, but better. Using similar weapons, but better. And so on. Their aesthetic is also very similar. Why did GW do this? Am I wrong? Are they actually worse somehow in a way that genuinely matters? I know that their AI is on the fritz, but that doesn't mean Jack or Shit since it has no bearing on their presence in the setting now. It's a time bomb that will never matter.

With Primus + 20 Neophytes you could get lethal hits when coming from reserves (Chink in their Armor on Primus, full-rerolls due to primus, critting on 5+ via Primed and Readied stragetem and you also got ignores cover via detachment and bonus AP-1 with ridgerunner support. It pretty much used to delete anything but now Primus got +1 to hit instead of rerolls, and Critting on 5+ now costs 2CP so you kinda need a Nexos to reduce CP costs by 1, and get lucky on your mining tool Acolyte's CP generation.Benefictus is good as well, but I'd recommend hiding 20 + Benefictus behind a corner with Assassination Edict enhancement, then punish your opponent if they peep their heads out. You already get lethal hits from from Benefictus so no need to trigger it from reserves like you do on Primus. You can strip cover as well with a Ridgerunner + Satellite Dish if need be.

hey all!was hoping for some feedback on a homebrew warzone map i've been WIP on-off again for some time now.The system is based on the GW-official solar system of Lunaphage, which is not given any official detail and is classified as restricted by Inquisitorial command by the W40k interactive map. I decided to give it detail because I like the name! The idea is that this solar system is home to a Dark Mechanicus Forge World known for its void ship production. Around M35 the Forge World and it's voidships (not yet occupied by SM heretic forces) were decimated by a roaming Space Marine fleet. Over the next 5000 years, the few remaining Dark Mechanicus rebuild, and focus all of their resources on one big ship. Something to rival the Abyss-Class starships of the Horus Heresy. The Warzone takes place when enemies of Chaos stumble upon the forgotten system to find a huge operation, now with the protection of a Slaaneshi warband who has been promised command of the new Starship and more in exchange for protection of the Forge World.Any opinions on things I should add/tweak to make it cooler? But the growing pressure from the imperials forces them more and more to reveal a heavy Genestealer infestation, and alien horrors yet to be seen in daylight lurk deep within the mines and lower hives of Khorin-15.

Tejana even gifted the newborn chapter a holy forge vessel to carry war deep into the heart of any potential enemies and keep them far away from Tejana. Dubbed the Madrigal’s Promise, it would serve as the chapter barque for centuries before they came to Oracleus Minor and began building the Rubblecrown. The Coal Hearts were deeply beholden to the forgeworld as a result. Eventually they would hybridize their cult with wider mechanicus dogma resulting in the modern Lucis Technica. Saint Alvarehs would arise from their service and spread the Lucis Technica wherever the chapter travelled, culminating in a crusade that drove the Orks of Bork back from a dozen worlds.

>>96999508>>96999571I like how this guy doesn't deserve neither the praise nor the hate he's getting because his minis are just mid but it still happens because he's a thread personality.

>>96999538Italy has various subspecies, just like humanity as a whole but on a micro level. Northern Italians are basically pig-germans/austrians and can be mistaken for them, with only their lower average IQ giving it away on closer examination. Heartland Italians are basically their equivalent of the master race, with genetic lineage dating back to the patricians of old. Southern Italy and Sicily are their equivalent to niggers, with lowest avg IQ, underdevoleped cultural sophistication and high criminal tendencies. Sardinians are hill pygmies, highly territorial and isolatonist, similar to bog people, but inoffensive all things considered.
Can someone explain why admech are ok with studying necron technology, isn't that forbidden?Just because its similar to dark age technology doesn't mean it's the same.
