I mean, no shit this is all just theory. "Do it right and it'll work" is kind of the thesis statement behind everything when you really peel it back. I'm not here to give an in-depth rework of anything in particular because there are so many systems that handle balance differently that it basically defeats the point. It's no different from people saying "make magic balanced" or "make martials fun." It's definitely doable because plenty of games have rewarding spellsword combat options.
