>Thread question:
Howcome demons are more prominent in AoS than 40k, when it was 40k that had a dedicated demon army?
>>
>TQ
Demons have always been an afterthought in 40k. The closest they ever had an ioata of fucking effort put into them was with the daemonkin codex back in uh....I fucking forgot when. Aside from that they really dont fit in 40k, well, besides the defiler I guess. if 40k ever gets more vashtor demons then its gonna be grim.
>>
>>97018630

back to AoS focus. Can you make a good snek list? Seems like all the tournie lists are all witch elves. I only have 20 of them.
Also a DoK Warcry warband, sneks are too expensive, but, was thinking of a semi horde but fast warband, Bloodwrack Medusa and the rest is all Witch Elves. Thoughts?
>>
>>97018760
In aos daemons and mortals are relatively even in terms of appeal within their respective armies, maybe mortals winning out slightly due to easier /yourdudes/-ing.
In 40k's current attempt at splitting up chaos, daemons have to compete with the various god-flavoured marines which is just a losing battle.

40ks demon rules have ranged from op bullshit to barely playable. This has been especially true of recent editions.

Gw as a whole hate demons. The range is too unwieldy as a single block much easier to split it amongst aos mortals with a tokenistic presence as an add on to chaos marines in 40k.

Calling all spearhead-bros

I'm travelling overseas in a few months to visit my family back home and I'm bringing one of my spearhead armies to play with my brother who is new to the game. He's finishing up his FEC spearhead (the old one) that I got him.

I have IJ, Khorne (the old one), and Nurgle but my nurgle flies will surely break in transit so it's down to IJ or Khorne to go up against his FEC.

There aren't many organized, up-to-date tier lists that I could find in my research by people who are actually playing games regularly. Most of them use out of date rules or only look at the collecting and bargain potential of each set. Are either of these unfair vs FEC? I want to bring the one that will yield the most fair and fun game and I haven't used the Khorne one or seen the FEC one in action. I only have about 6 games under my belt between my IJ and Nurgle against StD and Slaanesh

>>97018918
my brother used to play this card and just win the game whenever we'd play back in the zendikar days
>>
How that the dust has settled, why did 4e flop so hard?
>>
>>97018934
Spearhead is surprisingly super balanced. Either would be fine.

>>
>>97018934
Spearhead is so fast and balanced that even if you get some ass rolls you just finish off the game and start again. It takes like no time to play compared to full scale warhammer

nah gitz are a hobby trap. you pay for awesome models and then 90% of them are shit forever and your army rules also suck for a decade straight

It's the price we pay for having the most consistently good looking model line in the game
>>
>>97018962
because they are a warhammer fantasy army, like vampires, chaos undivided, lizardmen and skaven, all being the most popular armies in aos.
>>
>>97018976
That's not a picture of Seraphon thoughbeit

The most popular army in AoS is Stormcast, by a fairly large margin
>>
>>97019008
Lumineth*
>>
>>97019008
its actually skaven but stormcast are a close second. i think seraphon, soulblight and StD were 3rd, 4th, and 5th, but i cant remember in which order
>>
>>97019008
they are not more popular than skaven or seraphon, no
and they're unreasonably pushed, so their numbers will always be skewed
>>
>>97019026
They have much higher tournament particopation than either, so the amount of people willing to pay for Stormcast is higher.
Redditors posting furry porn doesn't interest GW
>>
Is the vallejo paint bubbling thing really bad or is it a non-issue?
>>
>>97019059
You can usually prevent it by not overloading your brush and applying thin layers(which you should be doing anyway). Still annoying though, I phased out all VGC paints despite liking their colors and matte finish

What did you end up switching to? I'm still heavily leaning towards army painter because it has bundles and the noob friendly gradient thing.
>>
>>97019058
tournament players are an extreme minority of hobbyists
>>
>>97019076
AK and TTC, can easily recommend both. I don't have any AP paints but a lot of people here like them so it's probably a safe bet as well. Just remember they apparently have some issues with mineral spirits so keep that in mind if you're using enamels or oils.
>>
>>97019087
>Just remember they apparently have some issues with mineral spirits
Any idea what this means or what I need to look up for it?
>>
>>97019105
It means they can supposedely reactivate when exposed to white spirit, it can damage your paintjob. An anon in /wip/ tested it but I don't have the image with his results saved. Then again I saw anons in /40kg/ saying it's bullshit so I dunno. Do your own research to be sure I guess.
>>
>>97019113
Alright, shouldn't be an issue for a noob. I'll just use the paints, they shouldn't have white spirit in them by default I think.
Thank you.
AK looks good, but has no easy base bundles where I'm shopping. TTC is out of stock for 99% of stuff and also no bundles.
So far probably getting army painter.
>>
>>97019125
Yeah if you're only going ot be using acrylics there's nothing to worry about.
>>
>>97019073
I seriously doubt even a majority of people in the Skaven reddit (no I'm not going to check) care about them in AoS. I'd bet it's mostly total war memes and furry porn.
>>
>>97019161
>I seriously doubt even a majority of people in the Skaven reddit (no I'm not going to check) care about them in AoS

the first 40 threads i scrolled past are all round based model posting.

you are living in a fanfic
>>

>>
>>97019184
no its not. all of the posts are age of sigmar model posting, like 98% of them

you guys so desperately want this not to be true. why?
>>
>>97019194
a lot of people here have trouble accepting the fact that at this point Reddit blows this place out of the water
>>
The Helsmiths of Hashut feel like someone at GW lost a bet and had to kitbash an entire faction out of leftover Chaos Dwarf concepts and resin miscasts. They scream " deadline ".

The real question is why all the popular armies except for gits start with the letter s. What did games workshop mean by this?
>>
>>97019194
I'm not desperate for anything, unlike you or that other anon each in the opposite ways, I'm just saying that it's genuinely impossible to know the percentage of technical followers that follow the page despite not being involved in the hobby, and it's inevitable that there would be a relatively large number compared to other factions since it's the one skaven subreddit, and they have a large online following

the posts might be hobby posts now, but the number of followers might also be showing whatever influx of people might have happened at any point before

you could gauge the number and frequency of posts, for a better view of things, compared with other subreddits, for a different metric, I guess
