Question to the more lore savvy. Aleph controls basically everything in the IS sphere, barring nomads, through Maya and subroutines (traffick lights, public transport, space travel and so on). Aleph can also manifest anywhere it wants being a gestalt, like the EI, with the difference that it cannot inhabit cubes. The question is, can a normal person interface "directly" i.e. speak with Aleph without going to one of her nodes or core because of that? That is, can Aleph just choose to appear in someone's fridge? While, obviously, conscious Aleph attention is busy elsewhere than directly monitoring everyone 24/7 (and you can hide in Maya because of that) and especially John Smith, I reckon it can just manifest anywhere it wants and has access to, unless that's also something that requires Toth approval or oversight
