Builds should get stronger applications of what they have rather than new abilities - Tokiwa-chan gets better range and speed with The Storm and Scout, Blakeney's danger sense goes off earlier or deals more damage with Backstabs, [Simply Red] gets physically stronger and has better control over Wind, etc.If we go the route of new abilities, equipment or items would feel better to me - turning the materials from a Shinigami like Kagayaki into a knife that has Idea Slayer, or killing Kilowasp and taking a few of his Minions for yourself. I'm not sure how we would handle the starting techs in the melting pot city, that may not be a problem depending on that.

Monsters tend to get stronger the more you get away from the middle of the world, skills are procedurally generated so two individuals of the same class may have different skills. Classes level separately and from doing class related stuff on top of killing monsters, you get a new class every 20 levels I think, may need to check that one. This is the important stuff off the top of my head. If this takes off I may compile the moth ramblings into a rentry for ease of use.

But I’ve noticed that several people expressed problems with THE DARKNESS for reasons ranging from tonal inconsistency to misuse of other characters within the story. Yeah, Kohakuanon made changes to Warlord Kakito’s inclusion, which was good, but I think in every MP the tone makes the music. Some settings are more whimsical than others and where Waffu had its place, THE DARKNESS might seem like an issue to others.

The way I see it, making a build for an MP is a commitment, and what you get should equal what you put into it. I designed my own build visually, I tried to make Kaoru’s flaws and character arc consistent, and I’ve written several writefags. If people like and use the character, that’s because of the thought and effort I put in, and I think that goes for everyone else. No one is owed inclusion and no one owes anyone else inclusion, people will naturally gravitate towards the builds they’re interested in engaging with from personal effort alone. We also don’t have to try to be F Scott Fitzgerald every time, I know my own pitfalls as a writer and I like writing anyway.

You're not in the best headspace to engage with the MP in fun ways outside of your perceived obligations, so these organic, easy interactions with other anons about builds you all love become rarer. You get in your own way through your own desperation for everything to go well.

That's something we all have to accept, because none of us are owed anything. What any of us think we ought to receive is irrelevant. There's no "should." In the same way, it doesn't benefit you to worry about what other anons probably ought to receive for their efforts. If you like their characters and feel inspired to work with them, then do so. But any effort driven by a feeling outside of your own genuine passion will be less fun than doing what you want to do with the characters that you find easy to like.
