After 10 years concocting this bad boy, I'm finally making my own pokemon board game

Caterpie is tied with another pokemon as the 2nd weakest (only 11 to defeat in combat)

I'm making for my own personal amusement and to play with friends. I should be safe from the snipers

Joke aside, people did bash me why I spend time & money making a game I have no way to turn into a product/profit afterwards. But we spend money buying games, why not spend money making our own?

Plus, this game scratches an itch that have existed for decades. Nintendo's fault for making their original pokemon board game rubbish

>How does the gameplay work?
The game assume players are familiar with the pokemon franchise, preferably gen 1:
>Each player starts with a different starter (see stats here >>97039421)
>Each turn you roll 1d4 and can move up to that many squares (see map here >>97039926)
>If you end your turn on a wild area (numbered), you get a card from that deck
>Higher the number, stronger the pokemon
>Wild pokemons have a base attack (damage & type)
>Combat is a single D20 roll + the attack bonus of the move you use
>Weakness & resistance gives each +4 or -4 to combat
>Equal or higher, player wins and earns 1 xp
>Less than enemy's base attack you lose and your pokemon is knocked out
>0 pokemons = you teleport to the last city and lose 1 turn
>3xp = 1 level (+1 power)
>2~3 levels generally provide evolution accordingly (or you need an evolution stone, such as pic related)
>After beating a wild pokemon you can capture it
>Players start with 5 pokeballs
>Capture rate is that pokeball on the left version of the card (also D20 rolls)
>Right version is what you get after capture
>Pokemons have 1~3 moves, mostly just type+damage
>Goal is to put together a team to beat the 8 gym leaders
>No gym order or hm/surf required to progress
>Only restriction is that red zones (level 5) can only go after 8 gym (if playing indigo league mode)
>The yellow Is are spots where you can collect items
>You also earn items after beating gyms (basic items can also be bought)

In those 10 years I may have designed & prototyped over a dozen original board games of my own, moved continents, wrote two novels, made enough money to retire in my early 30s

So now that I have the time (because I don't need to work and making this game doesn't clash with my main goals this year), I'm finally investing time to get it done

But the original concepts were from circa ~2015, so yeah, about 10 years

I think if you were going to use cards for each pokemon anyway, it might speed things along to use the standard pokemon TCG cards for it.
Either way, seems neat though I'd note your map here >>97039926 flips around the location of Silph Co. and the Rocket Hideout.
Rock Tunnel and Mt. Moon being branches is also a bit odd, especially since it leaves the Power Plant absent. Seafoam Islands being missing is also an odd choice.

So if I understand right, if you have a Nidorino and encounter a Nidorino, you'd send it out, and you'd roll 1d20+6, and then another +4 because you'd resist the wild Nidorino's poison, with the goal of beating a 16?
