Does that "fix" the class? Not really.
But does make it a lot more fun to play I think.
Maybe give them more ki abilities that can actually do stuff like defend itself or a friend, do some out of combat stuff, etc.

Base-ass "fix": Play the Unarmed Swordsage variant.
Minimum-effort fix: Full-Bab, ditch the whole "armor fucks you up" bit, give actual synergy with martial weapons if you don't want to go unarmed or something. All the chinese novels they are based on have no taboo on swords, spears, etc.
High-Effort fix: Realize that both Monk and Fighter are the "Martial Artist" archetype (a.k.a the Disciplined Master of a particular style instead of the basic NPC Warrior or the wild Barbarian) and join the two together. Curate ToB Maneuvers/Stances and add them into the new "Martial Artist" class which gains both Fighter Feats and Maneuvers (leaving your feats free for other things, instead of Martial Study/Stance).
Psionics: Realize that "Magic Kung Fu" is basically Psionics, and slap on a PP Reserve and limited access to Psionics instead of a bunch of gimmicky quasi-shaolin monk abilities, except the unarmed progression etc. Ditch the idea that they need a PRC for that, and just straight-up make it a core class feature.

How so? Unless you have a working relationship with a very specific outsider, the mental stats/class levels would probably be wasted on whatever corpse you might get your hands on, especially since it's only EX and not SU/SP that still works

Monk. The splitting and nerfing of most martial feats mean that monks have the same or less options in pathfinder than 3.5. Archetypes don't pick up nearly enough of the slack to fix the issue.

The sheer amount of homebrew I've seen here is kinda impossible to put on a list to be honest (for me anyway).
What exactly are you looking for?
I've seen people post here, the homebrew design thread and in dedicated threads for specific concepts.
Out of the top of my head, for the ones I was here:

Go to AD&D roots for all classes ability wise.

Martial classes get 1 HD per level (BAB, HP, Saves etc), 1 Feat/Class feature per 2 levels, 5 + 1/2 Int skill points, and 1 per 4 levels for supernatural abilities.
Skill classes get 1 HD per 2 levels, 1 Feat/Class Feature per level, 10+Int skill points and 1 per 4 for magic and Co
Magical classes get 1 HD per 4 levels, 1 Feat/Class feature per 2 levels, 5 + 1/2 Int skill points, and 1 to 1 magic.

Jack -> all shit at 1 per 2 levels.

Decide where you want the monk to be and give him HD based dodge bonus to AC that is gated by armor max Dex, but otherwise has not problems with armor. Done.
Monk as warrior would be 20 HD, 10 feats or class features on par with good feats and 5 levels of psionics/magic/Ki etc (up to 3rd level effects).
