Can using bandai/third party mechs for Tau ever work, or is it cursed to look kind of weird?

I mean you'd only be able to get away with it at an LGS and not a "real" GW match. Plus your opponent would have to be ok with you using proxies. But otherwise sure.

You can but they're probably going to be obviously from a different scale. Most larger mechs are gonna have thinner torsos with tiny cockpit hatches. Tau also have a large amount of tau-specific bobbins and details that you're not gonna find elsewhere so it's unlikely to fit in with the rest of your army.

>>97125143I just remembered, you can always look into DP9 games like heavy gear or jovian chronicles. I think that there might be a scale issue but if you want to proxy troops it's a good option. also they are relitevly inexpensive compared to gw minis.

>>97123935you can technically proxy anything as long as the people you are playing with are okay with rules wise, it wouldn't really work since gunpla are typically bigger, have different dimensions than what you'd be proxying it as, and aren't exactly great for moving on the table top since they move and are usually more fragile you'd never be allowed to use non-GW products in a GW tournament
