>>97142605I don’t give a fuck about Avatar, it’s been mined so thoroughly it’s poisoned my memories of the show.
>>97142605>PbtA Slop>Fortnite Slop>Failed horsefucker studio SlopSounds like it's an awful time to give a fuck about Avatar if I'm being honest.
Rolled 18 (1d20)I airbend a greasy pepperoni fart down your throat
>>97142605ATLA came out in 2005. That's like coming out with a Terminator 2 game with sprites today.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8miDYnbQJbE

>>97142605>Good PbtA game>Good Magic set, though Universe Beyond is still cancerous>Probably good fighting gameSay what you will about adaptations of stuff, but the quality control for stuff based on this franchise has been surprisingly tight.
>>97142605This art would be better if it wasn't traced over PNG reference poses

>>97154627And yet, the sequel series sucked balls, because Korra is a badly written cunt. The movie with shyamalamadingdong was a non-starter.And that MTG crossover is to me a sign that it was in the franchise bargain bin., and it's coming in during the twilight years of Magic, so they will probably just drag one another's reputations down, like two drowning men pushing one another under.
>>97156120you can have shit story with a good game. Especially if the game is competitive.
>>97152570Go home, zoomer. You're drunk.
>>97156120>netflix is making a second season of the live actionWe live in a world where coked up dipshits make all the decisions.
Quick question. How do you think ATLA fans would react if Avatar Studios suddenly decided it was a good idea to add aliens to the story?Yes, I know that for 9.999/10 fans, that would definitely be terrible, but I want to believe it could also have a chance to be really good, although not as part of the main story. It would work better as a relatively isolated spin-off.In fact, there's a fanfic called "Azula Amongst the Stars" that, in my opinion, provides a good introduction to the galactic setting (the cover of the fanfic that the author posted on DeviantArt looks like the cover of an official comic).https://archiveofourown.org/chapters/128186641?show_comments=true#comments
>>97163270The main question would be: Why? What does the series gain? It's heavily focused on people, growth, inner turmoil, etc. Also why add aliens when everything weird can already be a spirit?
While ATLA ended well, all the cracks in teh writing started appearing in season 3. The franchise didn't recover since then.
>>97142605Is Ty Lee in the fighting game?
>>97164206not known yet. There will be 12 characters at release with 7 confirmed already.

>>97163270This is a Literary Lord post. I can tell.
>>97164065I understand your point. But let me ask you this: Are the spirits in Avatar universal or planetary?Because I think a planet with three moons would need three lunar spirits, and a planet with two suns would need two solar spirits. Why would a desert planet without large enough bodies of water have an ocean spirit? A desert spirit, perhaps, but not an ocean spirit. And what about elemental bending?Do all races in the galaxy have it, or are there entire civilizations of non-benders?And what about races that already have some kind of natural ability that could replace the need for a superpower from an external source?Firebenders, if their powers are related to the sun, how would being under a different star affect their firebending? If a firebender is near a black hole, do their powers reverse, and do they now absorb fire instead of generating it?In the fanfic I recommended, when Azula is on a planet with a brown star (yes, that exists), she feels her powers weaken to almost nothing. She's unable to generate fire and lightning; she can only affect her opponents' body temperature. However, she also gains the ability to see the infrared light spectrum, which makes her feel dizzy, but according to her alien companions, it could help her fight invisible opponents.Could an earthbender in space move asteroids and generate a meteor shower?Could a waterbender who can use bloodbending control the blood of an alien that isn't water-based?If the Avatar is born on planet "X" but they're being sought on planet "Z," while there's a space war between planets "A" and "D," will avatars start appearing on all human planets, or will they have to learn to solve problems on their own while the avatar is dealing with the issues on planet "R"?You have to admit that an ATLA space setting could actually have a lot of potential.
>>97142605It's weird how the MtG set is such a mediocre thing. The only good card in it is this fucking gremlin. Was this gremlin a major character? I don't know, I don't watch avatar, but considering it follows the [X creature] [X creature cub] formula that several other cards do, it probably wasn't.
>>97166212That I will admit. All of these are fun to think about. Your The Expanse/AtlA fanfic could be a cool setting. Two thumbs up from me if you develop it into something. But I don't think you understood my point: What themes of AtlA *need* space? What stories (not mechanics, not physics exercises) can you tell now you couldn't before? Azula getting depowered can already happen with chi blocking. A brown star isn't necessary.
>>97166355>literally everyone: Absolutely amazing limited experience! Great flavor! Cool cards!>random anon: It's mid actually.
