Okay, having spent the past hour since I uploaded this trying to make a build, I have concluded that this is a frustratingly vague CYOA.

I really want to like this CYOA, because this concept is so appealing to me, but there's just too much left unsaid for it to function. For example, intrinsic power. How much do we start with? How do we increase it beyond our initial choices?

While I was making my build, I found that I couldn't really come up with a way to get many more demons beyond what we're given from our choices. As I see it, there are two ways to bind a demon; either you get them to agree to a binding by offering them a deal based on their agenda, or you outright force them, either with your own intrinsic power or the power of a higher demon. But Absolute's have no agenda's, and the only demons above them that you could possibly use to force them into being bound also don't seem to have any agenda's that you can use.

So how can we bind anything stronger than a High God? I would think you could use a bunch of lesser demons to try and overpower them through quantity instead of quality, but the CYOA leaves you with no real sense of how many you'd need. How many sprites equals a spirit king? How many minor gods equals a god? Without knowing this, there's no way to create a build beyond High God's; which makes the "Higher Power" ambition undoable.

What's worse, the previous version of this CYOA actually addressed all of this. You were given a solid representation of how much power each demon held. That made it easy to figure out how many lower tier demons were needed to get higher tier ones.

Admittedly, it's late and I haven't slept yet, so I very well could have missed something important, but from what I have read, there's just no way to create a good build.

I'll admit I posted it once or twice partly as bait, but I truly enjoy Dragonfall - to me Tok is sort of a tragic figure, cursed to constantly get in his own way. If he stuck to large projects like this that /can/ be applied to coomer tastes but aren't completely dominated by them, he would see way more success. In the grand scheme of things he's just a goofy person. I think it would serve the thread better to ignore him. Attention is a fuel for these individuals and any potential copycats. Better to give mild positive reinforcement or none at all

I miss being able to visit the toilet on my own, but old age is old age. Sometimes I get the urge too late, sometimes not at all, and sometimes everything suddenly becomes urgent. I also have pelvic floor dysfunction, so pushing doesn’t work the way it should. Because of the orthostatic blood pressure drops and the fall I had last year, I can’t get up on my own. When I stand without help, I start to tip. So I press the call button, and the aide comes in with the gait belt and helps me transfer from the bed to the walker and then to the toilet. Once I’m on the toilet, it’s slow. The muscle coordination is off. Some days I sit there dealing with incomplete evacuation. Other days it turns into urge incontinence before I’m even seated properly. After I had a fecal impaction in the spring, they set up a bowel program for me: stool softeners, fiber supplements, timed bathroom trips. It helps, but not consistently. If I don’t make it in time, they help me clean up. I use incontinence briefs most mornings now because things are too unpredictable. I pay attention to the skin around the area because I’ve had irritation and they warned me about skin breakdown.

The PDF one I can answer. The Basedjak Party hacker used a pdf exploit to beat this site's security, and the sysadmins disabled pdf posting until they're sure they have fixed it.

As I understand things, 4chan uses GhostScript to render a sample image of any pdf posted to the site. However, the version of GhostScript that we were using was ridiculously out of date, and the hacker was able to embed live PostScript commands into a pdf before uploading it. So when GhostScript created the thumbnail image, it also gave the hacker full access to the site. Everything from real identities to the (formerly) secret moderators board.

And now that people know about the vulnerability, copycats are likely to try and duplicate the hack themselves. Hence the disabled pdf function.

I more or less agree. Tok has been trying for years now to write a good (explicitly) lewd cyoa, and they all just go way too far. Instead, he seems to do his best work with cyoas that can go either way.

I'm not wild about the concept of his Mindslaver cyoa, for example, but I think it's one of the best examples of a three pager out there. Morally ambiguous god-being shows up, offers (you) powers, then a chance to get more power via thematically appropriate drawbacks, then missions/pacts, then a selection of companions. It works, and it works well.

I don't know that he has a "best" length, though, and he seems to struggle with knowing how to fix a cyoa that isn't working. Magic: the Awakening is about the same length as Dragonfall, and has a lot of good ideas, but they pull the cyoa in different directions. And he can't (or won't) make the cuts necessary to solve the problem. Or just split it into two different cyoas, so that they don't compete with each other.

Sigh - he's a good author who could be great. And rather than try to get there, he wastes so much time and energy trolling the thread.

Level 2 is very powerful, but it's a trap with its very low tech level region requirement - you don't have modern transportation, and you don't have means to extract resources necessary to make transportation! You're stuck there! With Sealtiel's level 3 power it would be fine, but I'm selfinserting and don't want to surrender my body to an AI.

okay, random question time cause im curious, what are yall's favorite classes out of the ones in isekai bounty hunt, not really what you think is most optimal for a certain target or optimal in general unless thats genuinely why you like the class but thats a bit of a cop out me thinks, so try and focus on just what you actually like out of the classes given

for me theres a few good contenders like alchemist or trickster etc, but the one i have to give it to is curse caster, it uses debuff style curses which are my favorite as opposed to luck or fate based curses, it can craft items and traps, it has access to poison magic, and by cursing myself i can boost up my abilities by quite a bit, possibly in some extreme need cases converting myself into a warrior as opposed to a caster although itd take quite the circumstances for me to need to do that as opposed to just enhancing my magic and crafting abilities, so yeah i just really like this class and everything about it

Blessed soul is cool even if the class mostly seems pretty weak, the dark paladin/reaper theme is hard to resist. Blessed also has the advantage of boosting boons which, since we don't get much detail about the stats, skills and abilities of classes whereas boons are described in detail, makes it a bit more interesting to me.
I like curse caster since it's more versatile than necromancer and lets you fight dirty as hell, dragging the enemy down to your level.
Berserker also has some cool synergies.

Sorcerer Knight and Blessed Soul catch my eye, although I suspect that I'd end up picking up a second class pretty quickly. Given the nature of the cyoa, their mix of melee and magical abilities seem the best bet to bring down the targets.

Given the cyoa requirements, Marksman and Necromancer also seem like they'd work well. Snipe your target from afar, or seal away their soul to stop reincarnation or body-hopping. But Marksman doesn't have magic, while using unwilling souls to animate the dead is . . .problematic

Ironically, Bounty Hunter seems the least useful. None of these targets are trying to hide, if anything, many are trying to be as obvious as possible. And the other combat classes look like they have better perks.
