Is there any image that you think serves as the perfect avatar for Vampire: the Masquerade? Preferably official art. I'm almost done with a lengthy homebrew project and am looking for a good cover image.
The Vampire gf list as demanded by popular demand>BrujahVery passionate but also very argumentative. Beautiful in a punkish sort of way, likely half of her head shaved. Think hot Latina but instead of merely having a daily woman moment, she's /pol/posting over her chosen ideology of the year while you hang out. Will be loyal, but tries to make you jealous when you're either too argumentative against her or too submissive when she claims Mao Zedong was a hero to the working class. Will not embrace you unless you ask. Kinky but not so insanely kinky as to force you to do stuff. Forces you to watch debates on dates.>ToreadorBPD Art Hoe autistic girl. Traditionally beautiful. Will obsess over you, watch and encourage you to draw or practice an art of sorts. Prefers you to be dominant but she knows she can control you very easily. Not loyal, will be loyal the first year of her autistic obsession and then either try to rile you up while she fucks others or to make you have an artist moment and she can get obsessed with you again. Will embrace you, consent is not a factor. Extremely kinky, will cuck you unless you fuck the autist out of her, and even then might do it anyway. Keep her away from Irishmen/women.>NosferatuSmelly, embraced with her bush, fugly in a cute way. Tries to style her hair to make up for being an unsettling gremlin. Nerdy-goth type of woman and shares your hobbies, likes to feel respected but also the woman in a relationship. Very loyal, probably by choice if she wasn't the epitome of The Wall. Formerly turbo slut if hot, or insane gamer-girl if not hot before embrace. Likely has a lot of online only friends Only some of which are Bone Gnawers or Glass Walkers . Will embrace you out of jealousy if you're traditionally attractive, will ask if you aren't. Prefers missionary and handholding, not kinky. Can't go on real dates though. tbc this may be too much text for descriptions

>>97148512I miss the trannies. At least their shit-stirring was ignorable.
>>97148479>MalkavianPretends she's a Japanese school girl in a romantic comedy publication despite being embraced at 19. Will flip between Tsundere, Kudere, and Yandere depending on what archetype she pretends she is. Will sometimes look at and address the "viewer", may spout things that will happen in the future. Will protect you, likes to go on dates where you read together and sometimes kill her competition . Will be loyal unless she's feeling like an NTR heroine, you have no control over this and it will be left to chance, and the NTR is unlikely to lead to fully getting cucked as opposed to emotionally. Maybe be extremely kinky, may embrace you against your will, pure chance.>GangrelSmelly and Unwashed, unkempt hair, full bush. Dresses and acts like an anti-social hobo with a wolf cut. Prefers dates where you go hunting, gets extremely possessive and jealous especially around animals . Prefers you to dominate her only otherwise she takes over the relationship. Not intrinsically loyal, but can be loyal if embrace or fund her lifestyle. She WILL fuck whatever she wants otherwise, including Garou and Ravnos. Pet play enthusiast and very bity, depends on who wears the pants. Loves doggy.>TremereVery attractive in glasses, but a total femcel. Cannot help scheming, will scheme for you and against you at the same time. Only seriously dates intellectuals, otherwise you're being emotionally manipulated so that she can have a reliable ghoul. Double points if you're a fellow occultist. Dates include more watching movies than reading though. Technologically illiterate by choice. Only loyal to the smart ones she can include in her ambitions, otherwise moderately promiscuous and WILL sacrifice you to become a Stolen Moon or steal some clans disciplines. Likes to roleplay in the bedroom, always ends in missionary. Will ghoul and embrace you against your choice after emotionally manipulating you to accept it.
>>97148487>>97148543Yeah the histories have some funny descriptions, one of them just calls you a homo I think
>>97148634The homosexual background basically says you hope vampire circles are more open to that kind of thing, since the game was made in 2004. Gay marriage first became legal in Massachusetts that same year, and was the first state to do so. Most people today forget that US society only recently started to consider homosexuality normal. The DSM didn't even remove homosexuality until the 80s, but the cultural consciousness still hated homosexuality because of the AIDS epidemic in '81.But, now I'm ranting. You get the point.
>>97148613>Smelly and Unwashed, unkempt hair, full bush
>>97148613>VentrueWill try to dominate you, only fucks you if you're willing to be her ghoul and only as a reward. Attractive for an older business woman, looks more than 50 year olds but an attractive GILF. Only does cowgirl, verbally abusive if you fail her. Has no friends, only subordinates. Will fuck her other ghouls.>LasombraWill dominate and beat you, but will fuck you without requiring you to be her ghoul. Demands you try to dominate her so she can flip it on you. Good looking, has a bob cut. Loyal, but still threatens to cuck you. She schemes but only uses you in her schemes if she can actually make use of you. Forces you to wear a cock cage. Doesn't necessarily embrace you.>Banu HaqimExtremely autistic, rambles constantly about how there's too many Tziggers and Nossies out there breaking the Masquerade and making his job difficult. Strong and athletic, but does edgy knife tricks to show it off instead of showing off her muscles. Good looking and cute, but covers her face. Very traditional, only puts out after knowing you a long time. Will embrace you before considering ghouling you.>RavnosStinky, deadbeat. You're her nightly pump and dump while she slums it at your apartment. No chance of an LTR, she's not looking to get attached. Will do a lot of kinky sex acts. May or may not kill you by drinking you dry after the deed and she tries to move on.>GiovanniCute Italian. Will date you traditionally, very Jewish though and will constantly dispute every charge or try to get things for free. Will act extremely loyal, and then openly cuck you to maximize the chance of you becoming a powerful wraith for her to dominate via necromancy. May treat you more seriously if you're willing to engage in necrophilia and necromancy. Prefers to fuck on top of corpses and zombies.
Anon you need to conceal your magical realm better.
Anon you need to jack off before you write, same as the actual WoD writers.
Trying to summarize entire clans with one character is facebook personality test tier.Every clanbook had like, a half dozen example characters at least.
What did you think about Mage: the Oblivion's explanation of magic as a sort of cosmic amnesia, an induced negation of circumstances?
>>97148747cont. (part 4) Way too many clans >Followers of SetEven more autistic than Assamites, will look down on you if you aren't Egyptian. Will constantly glaze Set and his Church. Gets increasingly aggressive if you don't go along with it. Has no sexual interest with you but will fuck you as a means to convert you. Average looking, not kinky. Constantly scheming.>CappadocianLooks like what a Giovanni wants to fuck over, emaciated, wears long dresses to cover up being stick thin. Constantly tries to engage you in philosophical conversation over the rights of the people that choose slavery. Mopes constantly about being alone and sad, misses her family. Will get emotionally attached to you because of her loneliness but will not try to force you into the lifestyle for fear of pushing you away. Very romantic, showers you with gifts and dates.>SalubriVery cute, loves to hold hands. Has a sad aura to her, depending how good of a person you are and how much you're willing to be selfless and help others. If you're too selfless, she'll groom you into becoming a Salubri. If you aren't selfless, you get to watch her embrace her eventual demise as she grooms some other girl into becoming a Salubri. Sex will become less frequent, she'll look even sadder but try to smile. And then one night, she'll be gone.>TzimisceTotal female gooner but expects you to be a gentleman elsewhere. Very good looking, fine bred Aristocrat. Demands you court her properly, will kill you over bad or poorly time gifts. Extremely difficult to seduce, will not put out for a long time. Demands you play Magic the Gathering with her and watch movies. Will grant you bonus points for being a Giger fan. Eventually will put out once in Missionary and then immediately asks to embrace you mid sex. Turns you into a complete degenerate afterwards. You cannot fix her.>NagarajaZero chance if you aren't a cannibal. Immediately shittests you by feeding you long pig. Expects you to hunt.
>>97148778This is just the Vampire gf, not representative of the entire clan at all I just wanted different archetypes>>97148769I should but unfortunately, the masses demand gooner content and it kind of helps me build up a few characters for my VtM sessions

If I want to make a seed, plant, animal or fungus out of thin air, do I just need Life and Prime, or do I need matter too?
>>97149168>Manipulate already existing life or carbonI figure this would be raw life or matter. Outright creating a plant in like the palm of your hand or something I think a good argument can be made for both being necessary. I kind of always thought the Life experience being the sort of shit Golden Experience does in JoJo's but turned up a few notches
>>97149183>>97149168Create Life(Life •••••)The mage can create a living biological creature up to the most complex of natural organisms. Granted, without the uses of other Arcana like Mind, this construct is mindless, motivated only by instinct, but few can argue with the sheer, godlike authority possessed by one who is able to conjure up life at will.Practice: MakingAction: ExtendedDuration: Prolonged (one scene) Aspect: VulgarCost: 1 ManaThe target number of successes is determined by the creature’s Size (on a one-for-one basis) and Physical Attributes (also on a one-for-one basis). Guardians of the Veil Rote: New BeginningsDicePool: Resolve + AnimalKen + Life Guardians of the Veil have a number of different reasons for casting this rote. A mindless human body can be created, bribing a troublesome spirit with a host, or a Siberian tiger could be spun out of nothing, giving the mage a body to control with other Life Arcanum spells. Some Free Council mages use this rote to conjure up a desired sample of flora or fauna so as to have a life form on which to pattern transposed characteristics for the “Transform Self” spell (see p. 187).
>>97149208>Duration (one scene)I figured if Anon wanted it to be long term full life creation he would need matter though? Or is this some ST discretion thing
Being Unseelie doesn't automatically mean you're a villain. It's just others who are jealous you're free to do as you please and they are not.
>Bloodlines 2 already memory hole'd
>>97149348It's better that way. In five years people will have modding tools and misremembering its release.
>>97149301>Advanced Prolongation: If a mage has dots in the spell’s primary Arcanum that are one or more higher than normally required to cast the spell, he can increase the Duration by even more dramatic steps.Since Create Life is already a Master-ranked spell, you'd need to be an Archmaster to make it permanent. Maybe, if your storyteller is lenient, they could allow you to do a group ritual (see page 129).
>>97149338>it's just the Camarilla versus the Sabbat argument again>but it's for every splat>mfw it's just order versus chaos again
Hail mary request: Anyone got any old school Hunter the Reckoning homebrew edges, or at least a rebalance? Never did get to browse SnE, so I'm winging it here.
That's it. I'm sick of all this "War-form Werewolf" bullshit that's going on in the storyteller system right now. Vampires deserve much better than that. Much, much better than that.I should know what I'm talking about. I myself sired a genuine Vampire in Japan for 2,400,000 Yen (that's about $20,000) and have been practicing with it for almost 2 years now. I can even cut slabs of solid steel with my Vampire.Japanese cultists spend years working on a single Vampire and feed it up to a million times to produce the finest fangs known to mankind.Vampires are thrice as sharp as European Werewolves and thrice as hard for that matter too. Anything a Werewolf can cut through, a Vampire can cut through better. I'm pretty sure a Vampire could easily bisect a Hunter wearing full plate with a simple vertical slash.Ever wonder why medieval Europe never bothered conquering Japan? That's right, they were too scared to fight the disciplined Samurai and their Vampires of destruction. Even in World War II, American soldiers targeted the men with the Vampires first because their killing power was feared and respected. So what am I saying? Vampires are simply the best monster that the world has ever seen, and thus, require better stats in the storyteller system. Here is the stat block I propose for Vampires:(One-Handed Vampire) Damage: 4A (9-again) Size: 4/N Durability: 4 Cost: ●(Two-Handed Vampire) Damage: 4A (9-again) Size: 4/N Durability: 4 Cost: ●●Special: Any attempts at surprise attacking the character, even by supernatural means, automatically fail while the character is a Vampire. Now that seems a lot more representative of the cutting power of Vampires in real life, don't you think?tl;dr = Vampires need to do more damage in WoD, see my new stat block.
>>97149348What is there to remember?
>>97149360I don’t think Unreal Engine 5 is as moddable as Source is
>>97149382I really hate how that tracks.
>>97150084The version of Source VtM:B uses is not flexible as you think, it's why you can only have one "big" mod for a playthrough and you can't combine themThat's one of the reasons why there were two projects to port it to newer engines but both got C&D'd I think. Really wish they had succeeded
>>97149504I haven't seen that meme in a while; thank you.
Mage 2E. What's Path or Order would most likely have Life Legacy which uses song and music for therapy and bodily healing? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rHDLHvwQE9Y&list=RDrHDLHvwQE9Y&start_radio=1
>>97149504I kinda feel like you had the chance to make this about KotE & you blew it
After going over the evidence again I believe there may be crypto-ntrfags in the thread
>>97150252Song and music are either Forces (for the physical aspect of sound) or Mind (for the thoughts and emotions being stirred up). So this is probably a Forces/Life or Life/Mind Legacy.Path-wise, this could suit either Mastigos (demonic or otherwise edgy flavor), Obrimos (angelic or otherwise heavenly flavor), or Thyrsus (primal, shamanic, or hippie flavor).I could see this fitting into the Adamantine Arrow (music to uplift warriors mid-battle), the Silver Ladder (a leader must care for their people), or the Free Council (for a more iconoclastic theme). The Seers might be a stretch, but I could vaguely see this fitting certain servants of the Unity.
>>97150104Fair enough (sad about the C&D'ed porting projects), but I'd still wager that BL1's version of Source is far more flexible than UE5
>>97150412Sexual deviants? In my wholesome and caste World of Darkness? The gall!
>>97150500New anon to the discussion. I'd say it's a moot point either way. How conducive a game is to modding is irrelevant if nobody enjoyed the game enough to want more. The actual issue is that Bloodlines 2 was staggeringly bad on every account. The only reason it didn't get that much of the forespoken treatment is that far fewer people actually cared about it in the first place.
>>97150553Nobody cared about Forspoken though.
>>97150632Nobody cared about Forspoken as a game, but it got a lot of attention because it was an avatar of everything wrong with video game writing. With Bloodlines 2, it's become trite, expected. Everyone saw a 20 years late sequel made by different people, on a different engine, with an entirely different type of gameplay, and knew exactly what they were going to get. So nobody could be bothered to care.
>>97150649Oh, I see your point now. Yeah, that tracks.
>>97150649Is VTMB2 the new Duke Nukem Forever?
>>97149348Good. It wasn't set in oWoD and it wasn't a sequel to Bloodlines, and on top of that it was bad.
Would Platonic Form Bows have unlimited arrows?
Apparently Jason Carl is out at nuWW. I wonder if that means a shake up or something, or he's just leaving the sinking ship.
>>97150412>>97150505Sorry anons but I just don't see the power of the dick being able to fix vampire sluts who want to feed but don't want to kill you
>>97150848My dick can do it.
>>97150811Doubt it, maybe he's just a scapegoat. WoD5 reeks of committee work
>>97150877If you aren't Tzimisce sized you can't fix her anon, and even if you are most of the hoes will be sleeping around unless they're out of options or autistic/trad
>>97150688Maybe, but I doubt it'll have the same memetic power. Even though Duke Nukem Forever was pretty quickly forgotten, its name is still synonymous with "development hell clusterfuck". I wouldn't bet that Bloodlines 2 is even remembered for that, outside of among WoD fans. The developer washed their hands of the game in a pretty shiesty fashion IMO. Paradox for some reason actually took total blame for it, when I'd actually say they should only get about 50% of the blame. Their issue is negligence and a seemingly once-in-a-generation inability to pick good developers. Hardsuit Labs couldn't even finish a game and Chinese Room delivered probably the worst game of 2025, and no, calling it VTM: Nomad wouldn't have made it a good game.
>>97150811>Subsidary created entirely to take the liability and fault when BL2 fails and the declining interest in the WoD5 games
>>97150950>Hardsuit Labs couldn't even finish a gameWell, technically it was basically finished, then Paradox saw the massive negative feedback and decided to cancel it and basically start over.
>>97150950Paradox kind of does deserve a good portion of the blame>Grabs an IP despite no formal experience with Tabletop rpgs all for the cult appeal of one decade old RPG>Want a sequel, but don't ever bother investing money into it>Never make a map painter WoD gameIt's like they WANT the franchise to fail and lose them money but surely Paradox would never willingly tank an over 40 million dollar loss on the chin for their stupidity? twice even
>>97150972Last I read it was a bunch of disconnected chapters without a functional hub, but still more of an RPG than TCR's abortion
>>97150985Oh they absolutely do deserve a lot of the blame, but exclusive blame? No, unfortunately not. Both HSL and TCR deserve blame for how bad BL2 turned out. Devs have made good games with bad publishers before, they could've made something at least decent, but didn't. HSL fired its only talent as soon as it was done to cut costs, and then couldn't execute and got fired. Then Chinese Room were admittedly forced into the project, but made another melodramatic narrative game (and not even a good one if you like their style of writing) with the most generic action RPG elements tacked on. I'm half-tempted to make a video essay youtube channel just to break down, in fine detail, how Bloodlines 2 is possibly the most ludonarratively dissonant yes I know it's the meme term game of all time.
I wanted to make my first Mage Ascension campaign, I already played Vampire and Werewolves and now I started reading the lore for Mage ascension, but I think I'll play it with the Gurps module.Anyway i'ts more lore help from experts. is it in lore or far fetched what I was inspired to do by what i read for now?>Campaign about treasure hunting like old magic and tecnocratic relics>Want to set it in Italy (for the begginings) and then move to the world like china or germany or greece.>The new Mages (PCs) are asked to retrive artifacts around the world and beat the Tecnocracy because it seems they created a recovery squad and start to find artifacts of both mages and tecnocracy, they don't know why (Even me for now).>The first Item is "Il Cavallo di Leonardo" from the real world myth of the Wooden horse of Leonardo that it said to be the first automaton a wood horse that can walk on it's own.>They start the tresure hunt like Da Vinci Code stuff but not entirly. They are stopped by stuff like Technocracy mercenaries, Iteration X Assassins and maybe add some vampire like one htat met leonardo at his times.>They discover the wooden horse but it doesn't work or move because thecnocratic Consensus now declare that Wodden horses don't move on it's own so all this quest for naught.Maybe it's a bit disappointing for ending but I tought it was more like the intro to a bigger campaign, because later I had in mind like "Go and retrive and artifact of Lu Ban and tought to mix like The emperor dragon tomb (I know Lu ban isn't from the Clay soldier period) and the Human computer of Three body problem, like a computer ran by clay soldiers that calculate when the Ascension will come. Or like in greece and retrive the old projects of Archimedes or Dedalus wings.is it far fetched to make a tresure hunt campaign with this idea?
>>97151046True anon it would be a good shitpost Ultimately Bloodline 2 failing is a mixture of faults, whereas Bloodlines 1 was good in spite of of everyone's faults. Not sure if that's indicative or passion or indicative of how ascendant Troika was as game devs to be horribly underfunded and with bad publishers for their ambitions in all of their games and basically shit out golden eggs still
The only thing worth discussing about Bloodlines 2 is how close did it make Paradox to selling the IP.
>>97151107Likely not very, Paradox is an expert at tanking financial losses due to stupidity
>>97151107Don't worry, they just dropped another three 4X game DLCs, they'll be fine for the financial quarter. (each sells for 20 bucks a pop and basically just requires them to write a bunch of text, pay a few artists, and write like... 50 new lines of code tops)
>>97151214I hate how accurate this is.
>>97150901>if you aren't the smallest you won't fix 'em100% sure that doesn't make any amount of sense.
>>97150104I will never understand why people accept Cease & Desists when it comes to software development. Is it just the spinelessness of programmers & modders? Because you could just cease overt operations, go underground, and do torrent releases.

>>97151545The second project was to Unity and was called Project Vaulderie, IIRC the people behind it wanted it to be an actual release with multiplayer support, multiplayer support was one of the main goals of the project. It's also possible that they were asking money on Patreon or such, I don't rememberThe first one was porting it to the Alien Swarm engine, that project stopped before the above one so it's possible I'm wrong about it getting C&D'd, I'm not really sure on thatI still wish it got a port to a more flexible engine for mod support, lower loading times, loading the whole area so no load screen when entering a building and such. It's one of my hopes that AI gets far enough that a single person or a few can convert VtM:B to a newer engine and just stealth release it

this is a question for Vampire 20th, I don't really expect exact figures but practically speaking is there a difference between •••• Wealthy and ••••• Extremely Wealthy? At some point cash becomes meaningless even for normal people and the way it's described in the book there really doesn't seem like there's a difference.
>>97151944This is the difference I figure between "you can't pay your way through this without being smart" and "I didn't ask how much it costs, I'm buying the building".Something like 4 is you get all your conveniences covered and your wealth is a strong asset to solve problems but only as far as bribery or paying people off, 5 is like some Green Arrow shit of just paying off the entire government, 6 might be Bruce Wayne/Bill Gates but with actual money since it's a game and not real life

>>97152637There's a much better early adventure you can do, I believe it's a Chicago by night adventure where you wake up in a lab freshly embraced and try to figure out who your sire is, let's you explore early powers and get the lore exposited towards you without having to commit to an idea to early. I'm considering doing that as a session 0 campaign before killing off their PCs and replacing them with their real PCs and then plot hooking the rise in hunter activity/sabbat shovelheading operations with the disappearance of their session 0 characters. Earlier discussion in the thread got me thinking about something. In your games, how sexually charged does the average vampire view feeding? Obviously there's going to be a range of opinions in any case, but what direction do you lean? I typically go for the idea that most vampires don't see feeding as inherently sexual, if for no other reason than most vampires don't want to think of themselves as serial sluts/rapists blood-banging a different person every night. In fact, this is why even Camarilla vampires will couch feeding in terms of predator and prey. It's a hunt, the kiss (and some vampires might avoid calling it that to avoid the connotation) is just an adaptation of sorts, to conceal the vampire's nature and keep the prey weak during feeding. Those that do view a normal feeding as sexual are in the minority, but not the absolute minority, and there is, in truth, a lot of gray area there.
>>97153202I can see it. You'd probably have to expand the powers
>>97153229For normal humans, plenty of things give you pleasure: eating, playing, fucking, drugs, endorphins, hobbies, companionship, relaxation, sense of accomplishment, etc. and now you're a vampire the only thing that can consistently make you feel good is feeding. I would imagine over time you condition yourself to associate the things you need to do to achieve feeding with all kinds of pleasure including sexual, you start by knocking out hobos to drink their necks then beating up hookers and soon you realize you're a BDSM fetishist. You start going on country clubs for golf and drinks wealthy male bureaucrats because your male ventrue weakness only lets you feed on CEO guys then soon you find yourself wining and dining down low 50 something 1%ers.
Tranny-Janny I'm not going to start liking niggers just because it triggers your faggotry.>>97152875I have no idea what you're talking about. All amaranth/full diablerie does is stain your aura. Vampires have already been severed from their soul/Avatar.When a vampire kills a human, the human soul slips away. When a vampire eats another vampire, the vestiges of the soul and the Beast, that angry, pale shadow of an Avatar, has nowhere to run, and will be consumed by the diablerizer. The blackening of ones aura stems from its thickening, and remains until fully adjusted to its new home, essentially digested by the Beast.
>>97153202Geist isn't nearly as wacky I think. Definitely more of the vibe though but Jojo stands are basically Avatars
>>97153353doesn't vampirism chain your soul to the vitae, and therefore by draining a vampire of it's vitae you drain their soul like that? iirc diablerie keeps the other vampire's soul inside you which makes you kind of schizophrenic if you're a low willpower retard, or in certain cases like in Night Road where the diablerized soul doesn't really have much will of it's own you get flashbacks
>>97153272There is an element of truth to this. It is not that for vampires the only thing that feels and will ever feel good is feeding, but rather that feeding is overwhelmingly so much better than everything else that all the other things begin to pale in comparison. You still have the capabilities to enjoy those things, but the addiction to feeding you'll develop chasing the same reliable high will probably cause you to shun other avenues over time. In effect, the outcome is the same. But vampires, except for low humanity vampires, can enjoy sex. They're just frequently going to use it as an excuse or way to get fed unless they're really not hungry.
>>97153144My guy. Women are more depraved monster fuckers than men are. If theyre not grooming their sons to be their ideal husbands than their eying up man's best friend. But speaking of Salubri sluts. Whats the difference between a healer and a warrior salubri slut?
>>97149338The way I see it, Unseelie are obviously assholes, but Seelie are self-righteous backstabbers.
When running a vampire game, what’s a good limit of mileage or travel time to limit outside of the city?A few months ago I mentioned running a Chronicle in St. Louis, Missouri but I’m thinking of adding two places about an hour and a half away from there.Kansas City was originally involved, but the players weren’t going to actually go there.
>>97153919How big is the city? How quick does it take to reach the actual suburb towns surrounding the city? If the nearby cities are close enough, I'd probably treat it as a daytrip or weekend trip type thing. Going back and forth is a waste, they need to commit spending the night doing stuff there for approaching a 3 hour commute there and back. Unless they wanna fork over the cash that takes weird hour check-ins.
>>97153908Exactly. Number one best selling book on Amazon right now among women is about "milking" male minotaurs at a ranch. I forget what it's called, but proof that modern women are degenerates.

Can be cute, obsessive. or make up your own shit, I think there's potentially for sadistic healer/submissive warrior >>97153919Have you played Night Road? The main difficulty in travel like that for a Kindred is finding adequate rest stops either in the middle or at the destination that are either no questions asked or fast enough that you can make emergency stops without alerting hunters. Or Gangrelchads can use Earthmeld. Anyway, I assume your average Kindred will be spending like 2 out of 7 night time hours planning and preparing to leave and settle, and at most 5 hours actually driving. Big issue is also finding a place available in the dead of night
>>97153969>>97153908Maybe a particularly skilled writer anon can write up a story about some goonette rizzing an immortal shapeshifting vampire billionaire CEO and rake in tons of cash? or a bear, perhaps Gurahl would be more popular with women than Woofs

As for your question, no though there is a sequel from the Minotaur's perspective I haven't read so strong maybe

>>97148266Got a question for everyone: How does a vampire sorcerer on the path of Technomancy compares to other splats focusing on hacking? Also important side note, how would they fare if they were physically inside the internet (level 5)?For the latter part I don’t know who can physically enter the web. Except Mages. I think it’s a given. 70-80% sure Glasswalkers can. I looked at the numina for Cyberkinesis and Technopathy for sorcerers and I’m pretty sure they can’t. >>97156718mummies are nearly in every thread here but no anon ever seem to add them to their games even as npcs...you do have games right anon?
>>97156722Yeah that does sound good>>97156724My issue with "adding" non-main splat NPCs is that either my players will not appreciate or question it, or it's going to bog up the overall plot and game direction. The other big issue with Mummies, Changelings, and Risen is that if you introduce them properly, a Vampire/Garou/Mage has nearly nothing to suspect about them since they don't clearly flag as supernatural without your players having intuition.A Risen is literally a normal guy with super powers, same with mummies, and a changeling just acts quirky but is fundamentally just some guy again. I suppose Mages are similar in that regards too but since they're usually scheming some crazy shit it's an easier introduction.
>>97156740I feel you could probably make a Risen the focus of a little side quest considering what being an Risen allows. Doubly so if you're running Vamp and can play the ghost as an odd but moderately crucial lick.
>>97153436Brave of you to assume that we aren't all already tied to the soul by blood. But yes, that is also my interpretation; whatever is left of the soul is bound to the only "living" part of the vampire, which is the vitae. I also think that the Beast is the Avatar of a vampire, driven mad instead of awakened by being severed from the Tapestry.
>>97156687>Kissing men wasn't gayYou are retarded
>>97156740the thing you can easily use a mummy for is the fact that without being in the web of life a mummy needs a dot of quint every 24 hours just like a vampire needs blood (actually not sure on top of my head if that is true for the armenti so let's just use a cabiri here) most vampires don't care for nodes or leylines but they will certainly care if another supernatural moves in and tries to chase them out of their domain as for the build of the mummy i would go hard of effigy because that's both a power very few vampires have any counterpart to and it let's you play with minions for the players to fight if it comes to conflict
>>97156770That has potential sure, but is the Risen never walking out in the day time? He can't do any of the mental disciplines too even when asked to demonstrate, never shows a hunger for blood, it's one of those things that'll crack eventually but at the offset, it's just another guy. It can be interesting, but I feel like adding too many different splats leads you towards more busy work trying to bridge settings that aren't entirely meant to be bridged as-is. I like your idea though, it does seem like something neonates might be led to believe. Even more so if you have the Risen eliminate a vamp they were meant to meat and replace him for his own goals.
>>97156724>you do have games right anon?Yeah but they go to another school, so you wouldn't know them. Memes aside, I am considering retconing a psychic NPC into a mummy after this discussion but all things considered... I am better off just closing the thing already.
>>97156790 that second part is a pretty cool interpretation, makes sense why Mages who become Kindred get fucked up in the same way as Mages who become Nephandi or get hedged. Perhaps one could take it a step further and go crazy on a Mage-centric campaign about how a Werewolf's connection to Gaia is just his avatar being repurposed by a Celestine >>97156796Fair, these are good ideas. I just feel like this forces the Mummy into an antagonist position which I thought wasn't part of the original statement. Perhaps if we're trying to tie the Mummy into a mini-arc as an antagonist it could be possible to have the players be informed to his actions by the Followers of Set making waves in the city?
>>97156724Playing or including mummies would require you to read Mummy, which no-one has, including me. They only ever come up as an aside because nobody really cares. It has nothing to do with whether someone plays games or not, and everything to do with the fact that Mummy as a splat is an aborted afterthought that never really captivated an audience, likely due to a perception of it being very thematically limited.I am honestly still a bit surprised it was ever made, let alone got multiple editions, and I still wonder who it was for.
>>97156807>Psychic NPCSounds cool, what's the set up with that one?
>>97156831I think Mummy and possibly Demon was a sort of filling out in WoD's playable splats towards the good alignment. Everything pre-Mummy had the capacity for good but was more self-centered or particularly focused around its own moral fulfillment. It is weird, but it's one of the fantasy monsters that wasn't covered yet like Prometheans and Rapists .
>>97156801True enough. I wasn't thinking so much the daytime thing compared to Risen putting down some shovelheads. Like the player coterie gets a call to help the Risen, and they walk in on the Risen finishing up. Maybe has something sticking out of their chest, but they don't know since the Risen pulls it out when they see the players.
>>97156824> I just feel like this forces the Mummy into an antagonist position which I thought wasn't part of the original statemenfair. and to be fair antagonist roles are the easiest to cast another splat in beside that mummy vampires friend and partnerships are a thing mentioned both in the first two mummy books and the elder book (despite horus' wishes) because immortality can become kinda lonely and being centuries old makes it hard to just befriend mortals but mummies as friendly npcs do have a bit of a problem in that they are kinda just immortal sorcerers so to say. like you could feature one as a item crafter who runs a multi splat auction at full moon every few months (have personally done this before) or as a necromancer for hire to use against the monopoly the giovanni have on necromancy in most vtm cities/games but i feel like you could also do the exact same things with a sorcerer>Perhaps if we're trying to tie the Mummy into a mini-arc as an antagonist it could be possible to have the players be informed to his actions by the Followers of Set making waves in the city?yes or the otherway around the mummy making problems being one of the few times where setites are seen as being the only ones who might have lore on the guy
>>97156847>meant to meatMy bad, shouldn't post half asleep. That's a cool introduction though I'd be wary that telling players to go somewhere and then what they went to do is done for them already doesn't always blow over well. Also>called to help the RisenWhat would be the context of this? I'd also think a Risen would have a lot of difficulty infiltrating the Camarilla given the whole Vampire secrecy. I guess we can handwave this as a day walker type of vampire which I'm sure the Camarilla would love to use.
>>97156839nta but there is not much before mummy mummies are the second oldest splat. the book just called mummy came out before werewolf the apocalypse it even came out before the sabbat books so the mummies are older than the lasombra and tzimisce (before that book sabbat members just had the clan sabbat)it's also why their powers in the first edition is just called "magic" as they also both predate any sort of mortal magic user in the settingthat what makes it's failure so weird to me
>>97156853>full moon item auctioneer>necromancer for hireWhew, kino ideas. I'm starting to see the potential here
>>97156862I always assumed it just went>Vampire > Werewolf > Mage > the restExcept for the Wraith prototype game and Ars Magica, so yeah that is weird to learn
>>97156832The Bruhja and their Thin Blood allies found a boat with the girl after she crashed it and killed the entire crew with her powers before falling into a coma. They kept her in a fancy hospital to be used as a bargain chip with a vampire backed PMC so they could kill the current court. Sadly, the Coteri managed to wake her up by feeding on her and ghouling her but didn't manage to keep her from escaping them during a fire fight at the same hospital.
>>97156889>Kindred be Kindreding>Immediately feed on a girl in a comaI love subjective morality in my Vampire: the Masquerade games. Sounds cool though. This girl sounds like she's going to end up one of those stalker ghouls trying to kill her dominator for his blood, or a Hunter.
>>97156859Admittedly it's kinda shaky, but my sole Risen idea I've been chewing on is an occult historian. One who was obsessed with trying to get a solid picture of their world, the obsession only increased in death, and led to Risendom to find more. So in relation to vamps, they'd slot in as an occultist that runs a little shop. Maybe they never really corrected the licks that found 'em, but they reside on the fringes of night folk society. Them not being tremere would probably, probably, work in their favor after they're okayed but it's shaky.Fair enough for the player thing. If I was gonna give it more ground, I'd probably slip them in during a sabbat skirmish if it fits instead of a direct call. So if they get roped into protecting the city, they could be nudged into an introduction if needed. Might be a little too gamey now that I'm reading this over.
>>97156879yeah mummy was the first non vtm book in wod they didn't even had much of a concept of a wod yet so they instead said that it was being set in the same world as vtmthe first book is also a very good read it has a weird energy that even the mummy follow up does not have despite having nearly the same rules
>>97156895The original draft I had for her was her being Drone with a spirit of "Survival" and the drinking from her fucked with the vampire's beast and humanity.
>>97156902Perhaps as an alternative, you could have them infiltrate a Sabbat den and instigate the Risen breaking out, for player agency. Neat idea on the Risen occultist. I imagine not using blood magic might be a big tell of>not a kindredbut I'm sure it wouldn't be unheard of for there to be normal kindred sorcerer given how untrustworthy and covetous Tremere are overall. Definitely strange, but no stranger than one of the weirder NPCs in a chronicle
>>97156911Interesting. Afaik Mummy was also the only book to get the entire premise changed between editions from being a genuine Egyptian gigachad to a Dark Souls tier Wretch getting given a piece of an Egyptian gigachad's soul How much of this was inspired by Yugioh? >>97156920Very cool but I don't see that being an easy incorporation in the current state.
>>97156940>spoiler sadly they don't mention the series in the suggested ressources but they do mention two books in both 2e and revised >Anne Rice,Mummy: Ramses the Damned-Although the novel is practically a porn fantasy about Cleopatra, it does have a strong World of Darkness feel. The brutality of the flawed Cleopatra is a good model for Bane mummies or those who stray too far from the path of balance and justice.>Bram Stoker, The Jewel of the Seven Stars-The author of Dracula writes about ancient Egypt.haven't read either thothe part about it being inspired by pretty much porn explains the bit in revised however where they talk about how awesome the kids of mummies would be (no subsplat but your st is meant to just shower them with supernatural merits)
>>97156952>Anne Rice inspired VtM and later Mummy>A lot of which was from pornographic novelsWas Anne Rice the Queen goonette? Also,>ST rewarding you for having sex a lot as a MummyHilarious

>>97156879Not too familiar with WoD history, is Tremere mentioned in Ars Magica? I remember reading here that Tremere is actually older than VtM and if Mage is younger, that's the only way that would make sense. Or it was just a lie
>>97156983Unironically, playing diddled egyptians would have been pretty engaging playing into the Egyptology fad>>97156995Has she done other monsters?
>>97157003yes the houses of hermes and it's founding houses are all from ars magica and tremere the guy was also a major figure in the game as he was the only founder still around and also kinda tried to take over the order a bitthey even mentioned rumors of tremere experimenting with vampirism in some of the books, but that was dropped after the two setting disconnected although the tremere in later editions still have the most white wolf references in their write ups (tremere having dhampir servants. their underworld spirit being a owl. tremere himself having white wolfes as familiars so forth)
>>97157003Yeah House Tremere is from Ars Magica. It's more of a "reference" but Ars Magica is basically a prequel to Modern VtM with the Tremere as it takes place around 1200AD, about 300 years before Tremere started doing his vampire bullshit trying to be immortal again
>>97156966girl published actual erotica novels under two pseudonym ( A. N. >>97157021You think Ars Magica would have been better under White Wolf or if Wizards was more competent?
>>97157036Holy shit>Agnostic Christian Super GoonetteThe world lost one of the big ones in 2021. I have to admire her skills to turn her fetishism into popular culture
>>97157043hard to say. because white wolf also crashed some gamelines after all and people back then really didn't liked it when they tried to bring ars magica in line with early mage and changeling by putting in the idea that rationalism and magic were incompatible in a game where this just didn't used to be true
>>97156862>that what makes it's failure so weird to meI'd actually say that's a major reason as to why it failed. The first edition of Mummy was a Hunters Hunted situation, where it predated the splat system entirely. It was an ancillary VTM book about something other than vampires. The issue is that hunters are versatile, almost any story can use hunters of some stripe or another. Mummies however are very specific. They are another type of undead (albeit very, very nominally) immortal, generally tied to a very specific place and time. The Mummies in that first book scale a lot worse than vampires of similar ages, but are almost impossible to permakill. They're fairly interesting, but also underbaked with not much to do. They were an experimental book, and not every experiment is "successful". When they gave Mummies a second pass as a template in Revised they did the very late WW thing of making them weird inept good guys. I actually wish oWoD had stuck to this iterative model rather than create the splat system. Not every monster has the versatility to hold down a game by itself, and having a book for one-off supernaturals is more my thing. I wish they'd done more for Mummies as a different take on undead immortality rather than go the direction they did.
>>97156148As much as I usually don't love later lore revisions to VTM, I do like the idea of vitae losing its blood bonding ability (but not its potency) without requiring a blood magic ritual. Not only does it make independent ghouls that hunt vampires for their blood more viable, but it facilitates plots about vampires in love with mortals feeding them blood to keep them young forever but not blood bonding them for fear of it twisting their love, risking their unlife for the person they love. Because I love that sort of sappy, tragic romance.
>Ventrue whose feeding restriction is mentally-ill womenHis cup runneth over these nights.
>>97157300>Ventrue whose feeding restriction is virgin women
>>97157300Let's make this more interesting, what's their origins and how that is tied to their rarefied taste?
>>97157306Just feed on children like everyone else with that restriction.
>>97157306You're going to have to rob actual literal fucking cradles and just hope to Caine that their parents aren't liberals.
>>97157300>>97157306>Ventrue feeding on mentally ill hoes Ventrue curse needs to be rare. The peak of Ventrue rarity is feeding on ginger virgin women
>>97156496Keep in mind that 'person' in this context doesn't include anyone actively opposed to ma'at, like bane mummies or Settites (or any undead), so you can always do some harm even if your balance is high. Also remember that offenses against Ma'at are judged by literal judges; you have the opportunity to defend your actions and make amends in needed.>>97156690That's not quite right. A mummy should be aware when an action he's about to take is 'wrong'. Ignorance is explicitly not an excuse. If that means a mummy will just know when he's about to say something that offends, or if he will know when a *knowingly* offensive statement goes too far (in the sense of Balance) I dunno.
HtVanon here, no session for the past two weeks because of scheduling unfortunately. I'm doing a bit of fluffing out of the Union in the UK, maintaining their thematic vibe and roots from their US counterparts, while keeping their focus a bit tighter and more regional. I've decided they'll call themselves the Jacks because y'know. They'd call oneanother Jack over the phone or in correspondance (or refer to Jack somehow, maybe he'd be the recipients husband instead if they're calling a woman). They still have the strong blue-collar roots, to the point that the PCs point of contact is a lift-repairman called Amy who travels about and checks in with nearby cells as and when she can. For throwaway dialogue that'll surely turn into some half-baked plot thread I've outlined how London is overrun with bloodsuckers (in a previous VtR campaign I'd said that Belials Brood had taken over the city, unsure if that's still the case as 5 years have passed), and a bunch of children are eating peoples minds up in Norfolk/Ipswich. The PCs are getting reinforcements in the form of a cell from Braintree, 5 people who will be acting largely independantly of the PCs and conducting their own hunt (and getting in the PCs way). At the same time, Ashwood Abbey are rocking up for a party. A dozen or so people bringing a half-baked promethean that they think is a talking zombie, that I'm going to hope my players will metagame into thinking is a Mummy. They'll set this loose in the woods for a hunt of their own one night, as well as having slasher-safari nights in town where they'll no doubt get in the PCs way and clash with the Union cell there. I'm treating each group as a conglomerate NPC with vague skill outlines as the generic NPCs in the books do, and I'll be rolling for their efforts intermittently throughout the next few sessions just to see how these guys do.
>>97157461I take it it means knowingly, as funny as it is for a judge to directly beam the consequences of your Mummy trolly dilemma of whether to save 50 Adolf Hitlers or 5 Mal Zedongs on the Karma scale. That's not the sort of thing you can immediately get judged for for instance
>>97157445I think that a good rule of thumb is three qualifiers.>ginger>virgin>womenor>mentally ill>virgin>childrenor>pale-skinned>virgin>drug-addictsor>nigger>virgin>childrenetc.
>>97157523>save 50 genius-intelligence avatars of goodness and human hope>or 5 animal-murdering starvation enthusiasts that does not believe in evolution or even basic dental care>not the sort of thing you can immediately get judge for??? Are you retarded?
>>97157552I like that. I think maybe a good point for a curse that can qualify is under 15% of the population, optimally under 5%
>>97157565I know this is bait, but you know I had meant by overall responsibility for s kill count, accurate or not. Otherwise comparing an absurd but specific amount of Hitlers to Maos wouldn't make sense. I'm not arguing about it from a politics pov but if you want something more accurate>50 future serial killers with 6 kills each in the future>vs 6 terrorists with 50 kills each
>>97157578I mean if you meant the comparison between known and unknown variables, you've got a point, but then you shouldn't have picked two known quantities as your example. Not bait, btw.
>>97157403Because then the parents might do something about it? Meanwhile, other households the child has already been fucked by the pastor, and you just mention you're a business man and the parents will offer their babies to you on a silver platter.
>>97157523>>97157578>>97157594This is why the Euthanatoi have got the right of it. If you’re killed by them, it was because it was fate.
How should a vampire game feel like if the premise is "they want you to establish a foothold in Mexico" and you start at Cancun or Merida expanding influence and turf. From my understanding it's usually Sabbat games that lend itself to a more action-oriented chronicle, but would there be anything that I need to remember if I make an action heavy Camarilla game?
>>97158051Not Camarilla-specific but Mexico-specific: your players can make *almost* any supernatural death look like a cartel killing. Cartels do fucked up stuff.
>>97158051I'm basically a no-games so disregard, but I figure there would be a whole lot of casing the region, the PC learning about all the different groups and their goals, seeing if any can be potential allies and which need to be driven off first. I can see it being non-combat focused with the potential to explode into all out war once the Sabbat catch wind what the PCs are there for.
>>97157594>Because then the parents might do something about it?About the virginity? Yes.>>97157606Euthanatos is unironically the most based Tradition. The only gay thing about them is how the writers had to bend over backwards and practice out-of-this-world mental gymnastics to make them "uuh they hate nazis despite fitting them thematically and philosophically in nearly every way, ACKSHUALLY" which is something my group just wrote out because of how fucking stupid it was.>>97158051If you're stepping foot in Mexico as a Cammy, it's going to be some form of all-out proxy- war. It's going to make the Sabbat go bananas, and with them the cartels and the Catholic church *and* law enforcement/politicians.I think the premise is cool, though, but you should be aware of the implications and know that there would have to be a lot of moving parts and some kind of overt action going on to help cover it all up, such as an actual brewing conflict between the US and Mexico, possibly over illegals and/or drugs, and it'd have to be something the Ivory Tower has been planning for quite some time. One scenario I can immediately imagine is a coterie basically being used as a terrorist cell/special ops by the Camarilla, taking out key actors or arranging special deals with wannabe Anarchs/Sabbat defectors, or even human agents in politics/cartels/law enforcement, nevermind false flag operations to run interference.Mite b cool.
>>97157523I would agree that's the most reasonable take. I'm now imagining a mummy talking to the most easily offended person in the world. His Balance-senses just keep pinging, making him stumble as he changes his phrasing constantly to not imply anything about the guy's hairline/heritage/intelligence/sexual prowess/wealth/status etc.
The Nephandi as a concept should have been sawed in half. >Half 1: An actually playable splat on Earth that believes Acension can only be attained through the destruction of whatever/whoever is in your way.>Half 2: A group of Wyrm-addled nutcases that hang out past the Avatar Storm (these guys are emphatically NOT playable)
>>97158051There are a handful of Camarilla toeholds in Mexico, IIRC Veracruz has a Prince. At one point during the second Sabbat Civil War the Camarilla came dangerously close to taking Mexico City but the Sabbat got their shit back together. So I'd extrapolate and say the Camarilla holds a handful of nice coastal tourist traps, but that's it, and even then they're under frequent siege. Just because the Sabbat usually do more fighting doesn't mean the Camarilla can't. The vibes could easily lean itself to "us, the bulwark of civilization versus an endless horde of degenerate savages". You all are taking on an insane threat but stand to gain so much if you win, cutting the Camarilla's line by centuries. One very important thing to note is how inclined to infighting the Sabbat can be, that's probably your PCs ticket to victory. You can still feel like slick Camarilla manipulators while beating in the heads of dozens of shovelheads and chain-diablerizing bishops. One very important thing to recall is despite the Sabbat strategic dominance, there are some independents that you could sway to your side. There's the Pisanob, who are mesoamerican Cappadocian survivors, as well as the Tlacique, mesoamerican probably Setites. Theoretically, your path to victory is eerily similar to how the Spanish took Mexico in the first place.
>>97157276vitae loses its bonding ability?
>>97156790Avatars, Beasts, Shadows are all the same essence just seen through the lens of the supernaturals nature. The act of the embrace bonds your essence to your blood as a way of making you immortal. You change from a Dynamic being to a Static one. Then if you die & become a Wraith it becomes an Entropic reflection.
>>97158438Sometimes people are just immune to blood bonds and there is at least 1 cult that makes unbinding blood.
>>97157593Alright I suppose, I could live with that>>97157606Don't you have some schools to be shooting?
>>97158334>>97157523>>97157461This was sort of the issue I was thinking about. How does a high Balance Mummy even exist? You can't eat animals for food anymore, you can't "harm" (including emotionally!) any human you come across, unless it's self defense. So does this mean a Mummy can't kill someone like Epstein? Or African warlords? If I'm some egyptian gigachad, I should be running a cult of humans & maybe some businesses like any other shadowy immortal, but using it for good. But you can't run a business without hurting people in small ways. If I fire Jen from accounting because I don't have the budget, do I take a hit to my Balance? If I sneak into a place & murder a guy who was about to poison an orphanage do I take a hit to my Balance? He was no threat to me, & I'm the one who found him, so it's not exactly self defense by any measure. Would I need to walk with a broom to sweep away any ants I might step on like a Jainist Monk? At a point, you can't even let bad things happen to people around you without at least attempting to intervene & you have the problem of being paralyzed by having to help every tiny thing to stay moral, but not having the power to save anything. I get the Judges can be reasoned with by I feel like the sins in general are too high. Hurting mortals should be rank 8 or 9 at least, not 6-7. In example rank 5 is "Doing harm to another person through ignorance/negligence/whatever. This means if I say something that could trigger a person by accident, my Balance takes a hit, AT RANK FUCKING 5. Even trying to roleplay as Ned Flanders you aren't getting very high Balance. I think it could use a rework >>97156709Can you go into detail about what you mean by this? Cause isolating yourself is one thing, but those dudes are purposefully inactive in the world. A Mummy cannot be inactive in the world. Also, whether a mummy pulls the trigger or a Mummy ordered another to pull the trigger, the sin is still the same.
>>97158334>Hey what's my up my ni->Akira brain blast>Hey these fucking Gypsies keep trying to ro- I mean maybe we should move away from these ethn- Let's go eat somewhere else I don't like this environment
>>97158373Euthanotoi is right there unless you mean devil worship too
>>97158452>Entropic reflectionYou guys think Woofs get made at Risen or Wraith for existing? Like imagine being a Kinfolk wraith and becoming risen to return to your family and then your cousin or something starts to glare daggers at you out of nowhere? Kinfolk is misery
>>97157276I have always been of the belief/opinion that blood bonds fade over time, even if a full blood bond can last months or even a years, especially with the afterglow period of someone being "used to" being bonded; as in say that someone that hates their domitor being bonded, they may not even realize that they *can* strike out against their domitor until long after the mystical aspect of the blood bond has faded, and may be plagued by conflicting emotions due to the cognitive dissonance of the memories of their actions while bonded visavi their actual current feelings, like>I love them, I must have loved them, ar leadt, right? But yeah, I am 100% on the side of "blood bonds fade with time". Including the vaulderie, by the way, so it is a ritual that is habitually reenacted every once in a while, say once a year or something, assuming it lasts somewhat longer than that, about two years; often longer out of habit.
>>97158574Well no one ever accused Mummy of being great mechanically, but I imagine the exact balance you have is something you'd square with the judge when your time comes before the next cycle of rising up a not-so dead man
>>97158574>If I sneak into a place & murder a guy who was about to poison an orphanage do I take a hit to my BalanceIn my opinion it depends on whether or not, in your heart of hearts, in your deepest unconscious, you really explored every other option and murder is truly a last resort instead of something you favored over other options because of vindictiveness or even laziness.
>>97156724I use Mummies. I really like them & wish they got as much development as at least Wraith or Changeling. Or at least tied into Vampire a lot more. Mummies are like everyone's friend, they are immortal & walk through the centuries like vampires, they fight against the Wyrm & evil with werewolves, they explore the shadowlands with Wraith, they are overcharged with life like a Changeling, they have powers like a mage & were created by the Spell of Life, etc. They should have some way of interacting with everyone in a more tactile way, they would almost be purpose built to be cross splat compatible except they barely have any rules. Mummies should have access to every powerset/mechanics. Not always as good as the splat itself, but it would be cool to see a Mummy don an Eagle head "warform regalia" & fight beside a werewolf. Or to invigor his body with strength like a Risen/Vampire & maybe have egyptian Sehkem sorcery paths similar to Thaumaturgy & Sorcerery (yes I know they're supposed to already have some of that, but there's no strong rules on it & definitely no nuance). They should 100% have Naming type magic as Naming magic in most fiction borrows strongly from the real egyptian magic as a language & Thoth. Mummies should be able to transform into animals & sandstorms/blizzards/rain. They should be able to build Greatworks, which harness the energy of the land so they come into conflict with other supernaturals & evil creatures.Fuck I love mummies but WW is retarded
>>97158616Blood Bonds should be powerful on vampires & less so on others.
>>97150806I don't think so. Platonic weapons should still require ammunition even if you can make more out it with quintessence.
>>97158334>>97158574"Doing harm" doesn't have to mean "doing anything that they would be upset about or hurting them in any way". Traumatizing someone is harm, startling them isn't. Humiliation could be harm, correcting poor pronunciation isn't.>If I sneak into a place & murder a guy who was about to poison an orphanage do I take a hit to my Balance? No. He was actively acting against Ma'at and you stopped it. That is explicitly allowed even at Balance 8.What you can't do is kill him in anger despite having an opportunity for a peaceful resolution, you need to act responsibly. Now maybe eating meat or stepping on ants or accidentally swallowing a fly is against the rules at Balance 8, but that's a level that is supposed to be difficult, approaching the point where even the Gods struggle.
>>97156831>I still wonder who it was for
>>97158574>Can you go into detail about what you mean by this?I mean that a mummy with a decent cult can be expected to avoid the more banal triggers and have more means to chase their goals without causing harm, and thus balance checks. For example a guy with Resources(5) and Retainers(5) can at least try to solve their problems in an indirect manner such as renovating a run down area or exposing the crimes of an enemy with a PI before trying to call a thunderstorm and smite the bastards from the face of the earth. You trying to make things right normally would probably wave or give a lot of bonuses to the checks.
>>97157017>Has she done other monsters? The main character of Servant of the Bones is a djinn.
>>97158438>>97158616I suppose I should clarify, I'm referring specifically to an idea I first encountered in HTP (I am not a secondary I did not get into the setting via them) that vitae rapidly loses its blood bonding ability when outside the vampire's body. It still retains its ability to ghoul or otherwise be consumed for vitae however for some time afterwards. It might well be a V5-ism, I'm not sure (I used to think it was V5 that introduced the Camarilla increasing its tolerance for diablerie but no, that was V20, V5 just took it to an extreme), but I like it anyway. The idea of independent ghouls working as blood mercenaries or ghouls that stalk and hunt vampires for their blood seems somewhat inviable without it. The former would need to ensure they don't work for the same vampire twice in a year at least, and the latter would need to go through a new vampire every few months tops or else they'd become their prisoner's slave and there's just not that many young, weak vampires around to sustain that. And as mentioned, I'm a sucker for sappy romance, which this facilitates.Rules as written I believe overcoming the blood bond is mechanically a willpower based thing. It's anywhere from like 6 to 18 months depending on how deep the bond is and how strong willed you are. The Book of Nod specifically mentions "A year and a day" for the duration of a stage three blood bond, provided it is unrenewed. Since that's how long Caine was in service to the Crone before he broke free and dusted her.
>>97158611Considering woofs have the best tools available, next to mages, to mess with wraith? No, they just end them
>>97157475Thanks for the update! I'm curious to read how the Promethean shenanigans will play out.
>>97158744You can't renovate a place because doing any kind of construction will destroy the homes of a bunch of mice or small woodland creatures/bugs/etc. Your hands get tied. You can't even drive a car because the car will splatter a fly on the windshield. If anything Balance needs to be more esoteric. Living in Ma'at but less a straighjacket of behavior & more a compulsion. Ma'at in Egyptian philosophy is more about Order & Law & Righteousness than life & death & harm. Taboos should be more along the lines of "deviated from the cosmic order" not "made the oil tycoon piss himself in fear" I mean a pre bronze age egyptian soul isn't going to have the same liberal sensibilities as WW feminists in the 90s
>>97158574You have to think of it as a sort of challenge, both as a character and as a player. You are playing against the setting itself (and you intend to win). Think of it a bit like Tetris.
>>97159026Is it possible to seduce Ma'at?
>>97159194Yes, with my dick.
Anyone remember a trailer for V5 back before it even had that name? Three VOs (vamp, garou, mage) talking one after another, and the garou one drops a line about Gaia getting raped.

>>97158600Yeah, I was kinda assuming that the Devil and Spicy Geometry worship would be something the Nutcases did.And yeah the idea is that both of those things are tied to Aspects of the Wyrm. Each Devil in the Infernalist Pyramid Scheme is just a tooth in the maw of Eater-Of-Souls. And Outsiders only expose people to Spicy Geometry which turns them into lunatics because contact with the mind of Beast-Of-War drove them completely insane. The Malfeans are at least honest in who they work for, which kind of makes them worse.
>>97160160Keep the Wyrm as something limited mostly to Werewolf please. Making it the overarching villain of Mage as well would be just as silly as making Caine a pivotal character in Mage.
What’s the probability that Ennoia got diablerised by an abomination long ago and that’s why the Gangrel have their animalistic Beast bane? I wouldn’t be surprised if the Garou beat the Tremere to the punch of making their own vampire clan by a few thousand years.
>>97160368About the same chance as Ennoia being an Abomination herself. Doesn't even have to be a Garou.
>>97157475Based write up as always anon very cool. Any plans to use a real Mummy?
First Session went very well on my WTA alien invasion chronicle. My players are Get of Fenris Ahroun, Glass Walker Philodox and Children of Gaia Theurge. They got their pack sent to Africa to support Black Tooth but got intercepted on the way as their moon bridge broke, hurling them to the moon. They faced swarms of Crimson Tide and got rescued at the last second by a Technocracy construct. CoG Theurge tried to contact the Lunar spirits but botched and caused their location to leak to the Crimson Tide. Now they need to make their way across corrupted moon terrain to a technocratic communication satellite and explain the situation that the moon is getting corrupted and that they need help. Before they get overwhelmed.Next session looks to be a fun one...for me especially.
>>97154006>>97154028Saint Louis is a major Cam stronghold, but those two cities are both Anarch strongholds. One is Springfield, IL, the Baron of which is, I’d say, Camarilla Tolerant, considering the proximity to Chicago. The other is a college town in DEEP Southern Illinois. Mostly Gangrel in the area around it, though the Baron is a former professor known as The Dean. So the friction would come from that. Makes a lot of sense, though. Thank you. >>97153974I have not played Night Road. Though both places are daytrippable from St. Louis or have places where vampires can hide out.

>>97160473>swarms of Crimson TideThe whatnow?
>>97160368Insanely low. I'd say that her birthing werewolves after committing bestiality is more likely. You don't need usurpation to explain the Gangrel clan curse. The Erciyes Fragments even gives Caine's justification for the clan curses, and to Ennoia he says >She who used the wild beasts for allies in her killing, shall become a beast herself, so that all men revile her. Pretty open and shut. Oh you like animals so much? Imma make your look like one. Caine's a petty bitch like that. Not to mention abominations are extremely rare in the first place and don't last very long on account of their nature tearing them apart, I find it next to impossible one could pull off the diablerie of an Antediluvian, especially one from the clan with Protean and Fortitude. Maximum survivability at all costs.
>>97160529Nah, I think it’s much more likely that a pack of Abominations diablerised her and she’s long gone, with her Gangrel childer infected by the bestial nature of her killers.

>>97160497Night Road has you driving around Tucson to deliver parcels to nearby cities since the Camarilla is gigaspooked from the SI tracking their communications. You character frequently takes roughly a 4ish hour drive to his destinations every few nights and a big plot point centers around you needing letters of introduction to not get shanked by the local vamps, even the Anarchs, as well as parleying with a nearby prince or baron. It's interesting despite some hiccups in the writing, understands the setting well (despite the setting being V5). I figured you might be able to use that as an inspiration. I'm trying to say more so framing your entire cosmology over>Big cool guy (lighning optional) versus Snake thing (poison/corruption/decay optional)Is a big reductive. The main struggle of the Greek Mythology for instance was Father against Son, the advance of generations, big man versus slightly less big man (lightning) with charisma.Even Michael and the Dragon is just a smaller scale part of Christian mythos, you can say the devil presenting himself as a snake and being a big corruption proponent lends itself into that as well but there's a lot more cool things you can be looking at
>>97160931Caine saying no to the big man and not getting immediately smited maybe?Anyway>Abom showing up to big leech and not immediately getting hornyNot my abominations, certainly. >>97160974You're correct. Most aboms kill themselves in a blaze of glory. Those that don't have to struggle constantly to not go feral, much more than a normal vampire. They're borderline nonfunctional.

It's basically just a frenzied werewolf as it is but a little bit stronger maybe? Not really mechanically or conceptually too different from a Garou that got big mad for one scene
>>97161036You think perhaps a BSD Abomination might fare better since they're basically insane creatures as they are?
>>97161061Probably, but only marginally. They'd have less reason to kill themselves. I figure they'd be a coin flip on if they could stabilize or if they'd hit Wight in like 5 minutes. I'm probably never gonna run a game that would facilitate this character, but since the Malkavian and Red Lister Petaniqua is a known associate of the BSDs, I want to run a plot where she embraces one of them in some sort of consensual attempt to make an even more fucked up BSD.
>>97160433Nah that'd be a bit much for these guys, plus I know absolutely fuck all about Mummies except they start stronger and get weaker before taking a long nap.>>97158880I think it'll serve as a monster-of-the-week type thing. It'll talk a game of "Oh no I'm so weak, please mr hunter don't shoot my head off". Ashwood Abbey will give it a head start into the woods and set off in pursuit, only to find it completely absent. They might spend all night hunting for it and not find it, and over the morning the woods will begin to decay and die. I don't think the Promethean will engage the N/PCs directly if it can get away with it, it'll just leech as much vitality/lifestuff from the woodlands and try to escape once it's strong enough.
>>97161096I'm kind of tempted to consider this idea for a cross splat game. A lot of the stronger stuff in the games aren't really useable except against a suicide squad where everyone is a werewolf I suppose Since we're talking about this weird stuff too, what's stopping a Mage or other weird splats from becoming Stolen Moons also? Other than probably going insane, I imagine.
>>97161125>>97161061You could probably get away with an elder abom that's a sole survivor type thing. Elder as in older than natural garou via vamps. That'd make it more worthwhile as an antagonist.
>>97161125What splat would work best for each member of the suicide squad?
>>97161143I guess once you hit the point where the previous relations have perished your Elder abomination can probably rationalize that there's no real point ending his life anyway if he has nothing to do it for. Really edging the line towards Harano if you want to incorporate that stuff though but I guess the vampiric edginess would also keep them away from it. That's an interesting idea, I imagine maybe styling the elder after a Judge Holden sort of character or some similar epitome of edgy nihilism
>>97161147>Changeling/Kinfolk Skin Dancer (Retarded Dudebro)>BSD Abomination (Depressed Samurai)>Tremere Stolen Moon (Hacker Guy)>Euthanotoi for good measure (woof status optional)>Ronin Risen turned Shadow Lord (Wolf Neo)Would be cool. Maybe throw in a traditional Garou Sorcerer turned Monster Hunter after getting really assmad at his pack or something
I'm looking a little character advice as a new player. We'll be playing 5th. I'm thinking of a Tzimisce artist/collector (think of Sander Cohen) with possibly a touch of Ted Kaczynski's manifesto if I can manage to work that in, although I'm willing to drop the isolated cabin bit. I'm struggling a bit with how I'd play him though. Does that sort of dual character archtype seem like it would work? A weird artist who also lives in the woods and thinks modern society was a mistake. The more I think about it the more I think it might be better to just have a second character to save for later. Also I'm not quite understanding the clan bane. If you choose something moveable as your charge, how much of it do you need? Like if I made his art collection his charge or even just the "prize piece" of it, would that satisfy the requirement?
>>97161201There's just something about the Ronin Risen that makes me think it wouldn't work. I'm not sure what.>>97161180Yeah that could work. They'd probably still care about the garou to a degree cause it's what keeps 'em going. Their tolerance for garou shit though must be non-existent since they'd see patterns after a while.
Trying to start up a V:DA game and By far the greatest obstacle to my problem has been the diffusal of content across books. For example, Vicissitude's myriad powers are to be found across like 5 or 6 books, and thats just that one discipline. Is there any early 2,000's wiki that has a collated list of all discipline powers?
>>97161246Specifically a Risen woof would have to be a Ronin as not being brought up in a Garou upbringing would probably allow them to get sent the Shadowlands on the untimely death a Werewolf Hunter surely caused them. This is just my idea though, I don't deny the possibility that it's probably the type of thing to crash and burn but I'd keep the Stolen Moon Tremmy a secret unless there's a ritual to exploit for day walking . Cool detail on some moderately sensible abomination being intolerant of typical Garou behavior, I didn't consider what a pattern seeking brain would do for a Woof that's actually long lived enough to see the hypocrisy in the Garou
>>97161230>Tzim in 5thCool idea, especially Cohen. You could easily bridge the Industrial Society spiel about how modern art is dead and soulless with your bullshit about how abusing the humanity of your victims gives your art more sovl or something like that. Anyway, playing a Tzimisce is probably going to be kind of hard because in the eyes of the Camarilla (99% of the vampires you'll be talking to) you're basically a Tzigger first and foremost, and you should probably act like it. I'd recommend a backup just because if your ST isn't a pushover the Camarilla will be looking for an excuse to kill you. As per clan bane>Art collectionNo, too generic. If you have a piece you consider your magnum opus or highly sentimental then that'd be more than enough under the esoteric charge. You don't need to always bring your collection, but it's the one crown piece you MUST have if that makes any sense
>>97160957The point being that Entropy/Death/the All Devouring End Times, is a serpent in pretty much every mythology worth looking at & you can even dress up the others in snake scales (the Buddhist Wheel is an Ouroboros) the set dressing around the culture & stuff is important to the culture, but as far as the whole Hawk-Serpent Order-Chaos thing, its just set dressing.
>>97161314That's fine and neat yeah. I don't have a problem with it. I think it's just more so going out of your way to dress it up like a serpent can be pretty lazy when there's plenty of other aspects of entropy and death that don't need to be serpentine in nature. Despite that being said, I can certainly vibe with the idea of the serpent as a primordial death dealer and its influence on our mythology and art, other interpretations are much more modern
>>97161257Just noticed my typos, promise Im not a pajeet, just preparing for the game at work on my phone and android has some mighty shitty autocorrect.
>>97161257>>97161420Good luck man, there's like 5 wikis for that stuff. You'd be better off just reading the books and picking and choosing what you like.
>>97161246Hmm. You might have a point. I've reread the requirements and all of that and after some consideration. While a Ronin woof probably can be a wraith of sorts, actually becoming a risen might be hard given how fucked a ronin would be to get a conduit for their shadow. Of course you can head canon maybe having an heirloom from a dead relative that may or may not be a Klaive or something particularly sturdy. Or perhaps some animal bond or something. If we look extra hard the werewolf lifestyle is probably likely to end up in significant danger to a conduit or the risen itself, though depending on the party comp they might be able to get repairs from their local (((mage))) and just become a risen again. I suppose if a Werewolf CAN become a Wraith and what nature their shadow has at all is purely in the realm of OC/head canon. We can just sort of ignore this though, as Wraith(and really, anything that isn't vampire) is rather underdeveloped relatively. >tldr yeah, this gimmicky idea I have is rather unsupported by the books
>>97161547>gimmicky idea is rather unsupportedFair enough. If one wanted to flex their muscles, we could probably work with the idea of an ancestral woof spirit getting bound to a physical form via bad wrong fun mages or sorcs leading to a pseudo Risen woof. Maybe some power draining's involved since incarna might be involved though one could just refluff the arcanoi powers to be more umbral or woofy.
>>97161605I like that though I'd think it'd be a much higher power game if that were the case. Then again, half of the party is already pretty OP
>>97161332I just find it fascinating that all these unconnected people have the same thoughts & through lines towards what feels like a universal truth
>>97161721>Uncle steps on snake>Snake bites and kill>Ergo snake means deathThis is reductive, but I imagine human art was used to express these ideas before they came into the abstract, given how human artistic expression is usually iterative

We have an experienced player in our group though and he's the only one with real in-depth knowledge of the setting. Right now I hardly know anything about WOD beyond looking into character possibilities.
>>97162461Because what can you do with a snake? Just like the "apocalypse", a snake practically strikes from nowhere, is or was lethal, and you can't turn them into a pelt or good shoes. It's basically one of the creatures there just for humans to die until we understood it better. That's my take on it though, but I understand it's not very romanticized. I also like philosophy and mythology
>>97162552That's cool, the main thing you should be trying for is that everyone in the session is having fun even if the lore and setting isn't one to one. I'd still recommend you come up with a backup in case your ST reads a lot more and decides you playing a Tzimisce wouldn't be easy to blend in. They're sort of like playing Red Wizards of Thay in DnD FR settings, aka no one wants you around. Still, your enjoyment > accuracy
>>97162461Historically, dragons looked a lot more serpentine than most do today. Tolkien regularly called his dragons "great wyrms", likely because the dude fucking loved his mythology. Other animals like lions and wolves and tigers are more familiar as mammals, and people were keeping dogs and cats as pets for ages. Snakes are also a lot sneakier than those other animals and some kill through poison, which aligns them with deception and skulduggery. Pretty sure it's a learned fear though, there's been some studies on babies and monkeys that show they don't have an innate fear of snakes. Maybe it was taught because snakes are a bigger threat to toddlers in a village than a lion would, despite the lion being more threatening overall. Also, snakes aren't always treated as evil. See the caduceus and that other one, where snakes get associated with commerce and medicine. Also some serpentine dragons from China or Aztec are also good guys.
