Otherwise the rest looks good, the terrain rules seems fine, however the Water one, might be better to just settle for a Shallow water and Deep Water division and have non-amphibious treat Deep Water as Lethal?
>>97164330>Its not (Str+Awa)/2, its one or the other, of your choice (used to be Str, Awa and Eva if i'm not mistaken). Why not just choosing strength then? I don't see how awareness is going to help you while you plummet into the ground.>Shallow water and Deep WaterI wrote it that way to keep too many terrains to be instantly lethal, to add more variety. I imagine amphibious/swimming models could be immune to the fall into the water.
>>97166051>Why not just choosing strength then? I don't see how awareness is going to help you while you plummet into the ground. You're Awareness could be higher. I don't see how strength would help you either; hitting water from that height is like hitting cement. I also don't see a reason to add special conditions for what the model falls on. Just follow the already applicable terrain rules.
>>97163865Use it wisely.

Forget whatever I said about stirling engines. My initial guess as to how the Sky People's ships worked was correct and someone in 1863 built it. It evens works while ascending too which I had not considered but it makes perfect sense in hindsight as long as the frame is identical on both top and bottom. This ship does not need any sort of engine, but it can fly horizontally nonetheless. And it even looks unique and cool, sort of. If Stink Juice can be decomposed into methane (explaining the stink) it can provide lifting gas which can then be used on both the ascent and descent to provide horizontal movement as well! The Sky People are flying hot dog packs while the Germans are flying single sausages and the French semi-straightened croissants. It all makes sense now.
Another of the tutorials. This is to try parley rules for duels. That is the only way to complete it, as otherwise, the Knights of Camelot get overrun quite fast.
>>97173030It looks like it might take a while to run through turn-wise.
>>97170316Is there even anything that the colonials have that can match a full on Hyperborean invasion? I know there's stuff like the landskneckts, but just thinking about it if the Hyperboreans come down in numbers during the deluge there's not much beyond the latest battleships, and even then most of those will get Thunderchild'd.
>>97170316>>97175740Nevermind, looking at that thread and I think we can steal some ideas.
>>97175754In the film itself those weapons are only developed after the initial invasion fails, for what that's worth.Pretty good watch either way.
Another mission. Only one left. I was thinking of the last mission just being a regular game, maybe British vs Atlan. Any volunteers to make a 150 list for each, something generic easy to use for newcomers?>>97174649That is true. We could just end up removing one of the NPC tribes, if it's too long to run.
>>97178455>something generic easy to use for newcomersI'll try. I think presetting the walls on a basic map will do the most in making it friendly.
Also, I'm continuing with the visual guides for the game. Making the one for basic attacks, I realized that I don't know how smoke affects melee like in pic related. Any help for this?
>>97181134Same as with Ranged.
>>97181134>DodgingThis might have been changed, but last i recall, the Eva roll needs to beat the Acc roll.
>>97178455Here's a version from me:>6 BAPs with rifles and bayonets>1 Sergeant with rifle and bayonet>1 Modern Major General>2 Auxes with Spears and Ancestral WeaponThe gimmick is to make a firing line. The general lets you be fancy if you want but the main gimmick remains.
>>97181179In the rules book there are two versions of dodging:- If the Evasion roll equals or beats the Accuracy roll, the Attack fails-This action may be taken outside of a model’s Activation if he still has the AP to pay for it. During an Attack in which this model is the target, a successful (didn’t roll over the target number) Defense roll result equal or higher than the Attack roll means the Attack failed completely. A Critical result cancels the attack and lowers your Dread by 1.Also, I think I've missed thr "critical evasion lowers the dread" part every game.>>97181159So the units under the influence of smoke get +1 evasion and -1 accuracy?
Also, here's one for climbing. Can climbing units move beyond walls composed of 2 or more wall hexes?
>So the units under the influence of smoke get +1 evasion and -1 accuracy?Yes>Also, I think I've missed thr "critical evasion lowers the dread" part every game.We stopped doing that not long after it was introduced.
>>97184229>We stopped doing that not long after it was introduced.Oh, that makes sense. Otherwise dread loses a lot of punch.>units under the influence of smoke get +1 evasion and -1 accuracyOk, I'll add it to the visual guide.>Pic relatedHuh, I didn't remember that from the hyperborea lore...
I just saw this. It should probably be in the faction book or on the wiki.
Would this be correct, then?
>>97185638Also, before I start with the fire/electrical damage, what units have those damages?
>>97185638>All Attacks during the charge turn get +1strThe Charge Attack itself has +1str, that's all.>First, it has to chargeOnly if it has 1AP. It could Move then Attack (although this is rarely worth doing).>don't get Charge bonus if already adjacentRather, you can't Charge. "Charge" is an "Action".>DisengageAgain, an "Action", rather than just a term for something you do. I'd put it like"To move away from an Engaging model, an Engaged model take the Disengage Action(, which stipulates...)"A model can not Move away from a model you are Engaged with, so in order for the Reclaimer to reach a hex out of the Privet's Melee Range, it must preform the Disengage Action: A model preforming a Disengage ignores Engagement, and must move up to it's movement in hexes away from a model that was Engaging it. Think of the Actions like coupons that you buy using AP, that are then automatically redeemed, which results in a certain effect. "Disengage (Reclaimer 1) [3 in the direction of 6]" costs 2 AP (Reclaimer 1) which can only be accessed if he is the active model. That Disengage is then immediately automatically redeemed, resulting in Reclaimer 1 moving 3 in the direction of 6-on-a-scatter.
>>97185645For some reason, the damaged came out scrambled. Fixed it.
>>97193018>forgot to add the shadowDammit. I'll add it later.
>>97185645Lots of stuff in Atlantis has Fire, and lots of stuff in America has Electric.>>97185638>the trooper can shoot the reclaimerThe line should be drawn from the 5th hex. One could make the argument that the Reclaimer has Cover. Cover rules could do with being more clear, i think.>crits & weak/strongCritical Acc results in the Lethality of the attack increasing by a Graze. For Weak/Strong, if the attacker has less Str than it's target it's a Weak attack, so Strong is the 'normal'.>>97182966>In the rules book there are two versions of dodgingIn both the Acc roll is compared to the Eva, while in your example it isn't. You also missed the AP cost.I just realised by Dodging you just mean the defensive Eva roll: Succeeding that reduces the damage received by a Graze; Critical Evade cancels the attack, unless the attack roll was a Crit also, in which case the crits cancel out and it counts as a success for both.Armor is absent.
I think the Ryse: Son of Rome mask would work better for the Revenant Legatus compared to the current art I found in an Osprey.
>>97194589Something like this?
By the way, I'm writing something for the Neo-Mughal lore. The wiki has very little of them, the most I could find is in the googledoc, is it still canon? Anyone had any ideas for the neo-mughal?
>>97194860yeah, I'll try to dig up a better resolution version.>>97194879Here's the Brahmin-Prophet. It's on page 128/286 on my Agartha sheet so I think that dates it to early last year. There is also a Sepoy but it's mostly reskin of the BAP. I have not edited the following (including commentary) since it was written:>Brahmin-Prophet (1 Silver)Academic, SpecialistAP: 1Movement: 3Accuracy: 2Strength: 3Discipline: 4Labour: 4Evasion: 3Awareness: 3>Armour:0 in all>Health:1 Box>General Abilities:-Dogged-Prophetic Sight>Special Abilities:-The Gate Unsealed:When this model has successfully completed three prophecy actions, replace it with a Scholar-Prophet model. This can allow you to exceed the limit imposed by the Prophet Council rule.-Pilgrim’s Road: You may take up to 10 copies of this model in your Expedition, they all count as a single Specialist.>Equipment:Rations, Alcohol, Medkit>Recruitment:Rajput as faction, Lemuria as merc (Hero trait to get as faction units)>COMMENTARY:For the longest time I thought I would sit down, write a fat leader unit, and call it a day. Then I looked at the description and decided to do something different. These are men who have sequestered themselves for months, perhaps years. They have survived on the barest essentials and in some cases on nothing save willpower. They find themselves frail, distant, and weakened. But now they know things which no man upon the surface has ever known before.Their stats are bad because they’ve been fasting for a long time. You can take 10 of them to simulate escorting a pilgrimage which I think is a fairly unique gimmick. I do also think that it should be easier to degenerate in non-campaign games. Right now you have to fail 10 prophecies to degen which is simply not possible in a pickup game. This does mean that Rajput needs a leader unit, ideally not the Emperor himself but someone lower on the chain of command. I’m open to suggestions.
>>97194909I was able to scrounge this from the artbook, but I like the first one more even if its less high resolution.
There's some other good stuff in here too. This one is Atlan to a (T)Get it?
Have I posted about my theory that the reason Muan revenants look like Romans is because the first ones were actually the Lost Legion who went missing in Britain? I think that would be a fun thing to tie together, especially if it's connected to the Roman camp found by the KoB when they were initially trapped and King Arthur's wild ride.I've been meaning to write about the period between the conquest of Greece and the Byzantine empire where I think Atlantis might have been in a secret war with Rome. That one needs more time in the oven at least.
>>97194933
What would be the Neo Mughal capital?
Fixed the shadow.
>>97198232I don't see any reason why it wouldn't be Dehli again. While we're on the topic, do you think that more of the future Princely states would join the rebellion with Lemurian nudging? I'm wondering about that since if not there's got to be some heavy internal wars after the British are kicked out, or otherwise there are still independent states on the subcontinent.
>>97199077I imagine that the Neo-Mughal are constantly putting out fires across the empire. Unless the neo-mughal is a completely different state from the late 18th century mughals (which was on its way out already due to uprisis and finantial crisis), I cannot see how they would suddenly unify the peninsula under their leadership, not even lemurian influence could do that. The Sepoy Revolution would be about kicking the british out, and after that is done, while the nominal power of the region is the Neo-Mughal emperor, many other areas are probably de-facto independent. Not sure how Lemuria would factor in in this regard.
>>97199229>Not sure how Lemuria would factor in in this regard.Trying to make sure those who follow Lemurian practices come out on top while also making sure that those same powers aren't ever strong enough to question LemuriaKind of like the EIC, but sneakier.I would also not be surprised if other colonial powers were trying to get a sphere of influence in some of the states.
>>97199785I think we need to answer a couple of questions about the lemurians for this.>How did the lemurians arrive at India? >Why did they decided to help the sepoy and the mughal lord?>How did the lemurians managed to change the tide of the war?>How do lemurian politics and religion affect the new empire?
>>97200544>When?They've always been there. Most other places too. They like to imitate and mimic figures of mythology from Hindu Gods to Cherubs and Norns. >Why?Because it was prophesied. And they were the shadow rulers of the subcontinent first anyways. Also, because they wanted to cripple the British before they could make the Analytical Engines, inadvertently leading to their development in the first place. Classic prophecy twist.>How?More states turned to the revolt with agents, prophecy bullshit, alchemical artefact bullshit, and the release of vicious Lemurian Tigers into the jungles.>And Now?Those who aided the British until they left are either desperately warring against the Mughals or only nominally subordinate. Many are looking for new allies (but not domination) from Europe rather than resorting to the influence of the Lemurians. The NWF especially is getting drawn more and more into the Tsardom's sphere, and also have some connections with the Unhusked. The neutral states are being slowly infiltrated by the Lemurians but it takes time to do rightly. The rebellious states are finding themselves almost ungoverned in some regards and strictly managed in others. A lot of Lemurian temples, being the most organized part of their society, are trying to claim specific regions for themselves which is leading to a rise in factionalism.Or not, I'm just making this up as I go along.
>>97200639>Also, because they wanted to cripple the British before they could make the Analytical Engines, inadvertently leading to their development in the first place. Classic prophecy twist.Oh, I really like that one.
>>97194956Mu would likely make the first Revs before Rome would even exist.

>>97208535I kept the gun with the excuse that it was being sold through the NETC to the new sepoys. If you want to switch it to a French or Tsardom version then by all means go for it. Since the Metfield is presumably a cartridge loader instead of a muzzle-loader like the Enfield I don't think it would have the same religious issues that the Enfield did.
>>97209316Probably a Tsardom version would be the best, since they'd be the ones wanting to get into India after they won the Great Game.
>>97209551>they won the Great GameRather, they are the only player left. The British did not loose the Great Game, we merely started playing a better one.
>>97209745>
Ok, I finished my first draft of the neo-mughal lore. Any ideas on how to complete it or something that needs to be changed are welcomed.------------------The Indian subcontinent has been witness to human civilization since the earliest records of written history. From its birthplace at the shores of the Indus River, the evolution of the peninsula was marked by great social and cultural development, being the cradle of some of the oldest known peoples and religions, like Hinduism and Buddhism. The rich lands of India also allowed for the rise and fall of a dozen different empires, all while being influenced by the nearby empires, like the Chinese, the Persians, and even the Greeks under Alexander the Great let their mark on the territory. Trade brought influences from the outside, and it would mark a period where foreign powers began staking their claims on the subcontinent. European nations, having recovered from the long crisis after the fall of Rome, began expanding their horizons beyond the seas, delving into ultramarine exploration in search for the always desired spices. This led the portuguese first arriving in 1498, and then the dutch, the french and the english, each carving multiple coastal outposts for themselves.
>>97209872However, while the Europeans were beginning to claim pieces of the coast for themselves, a new power was arising from the north. The Mughal, heirs of Genghis Khan’s great empire, began arriving from Central Asia during the 16th century, and from there, began extending their power and influence southwards. Rules like Akbar the Great and his successors slowly took over the peninsula, absorbing the neighboring territories through either diplomatic alliances or military force, and by the beginning of the 17th century, it looked like the Mughal emperors were going to unify the subcontinent completely. However, it was not meant to be. Constant clashes between the Mughal lords and the local nobility, ethnic and cultural clashes, financial crisis and religious tensions eroded the Mughals’ authority, slowly but surely breaking the empire into smaller kingdoms. The fights against the Marathas and the Sikh states were creating great cracks within the political scene, and this power vacuum allowed further european interference.
>>97209879Out of all Europeans, none managed as strong control over the Indian Subcontinent as the british. At the beginning of the 17th century, the growing competition between the different european powers for access to the newly discovered markets led to the creations of dozens of different charter companies, all envisioned with a mercantilist point of view, to funnel all the riches from abroad into their own national monopolies. Out of this, the “Governor and Company of Merchants of London Trading into the East-Indies”, better known as the British East India Company, would become a world power in and of itself. After being driven out of the Indonesian archipelago by the dutch, the EIC began establishing the first English outpost in the Indian Peninsula. Trade with the local authorities proved successful, especially after gaining certain exclusive rights from the Mughal emperors, who saw the company as a great way to access european manufactures and weaponry. From this point, the company began expanding their influence across the subcontinent, pushing back the other european charter companies, as well as expanding eastwards to China. The wealth coming from India turned the EIC into a great power, especially after the british victory in the Seven Years war pushed the growing french influence from the region. Through diplomatic, financial and a growing military presence, the EIC managed to speed up the weakening of the Mughal lords, supporting the lesser states while becoming the power behind dozens of lords.
>>97209888Their rule over the subcontinent was growing fast, but the demands of the company were only just starting. The East India Company was well known for their rampant corruption and administrative botches, and even with all the indian riches, the company was always choked by debt. Their growing power over the indian states allowed them to take control over taxation and production, quickly diverting great swathes of farmland into producing cash crops for the metropole: sugar, cotton, indigo, tea… all replaced food production, which caused severe famines over the 18th century. And this was all before the production of opium took center stage. As the one single product the british could sell in China to balance their trade, plantations of poppy flowers grew exponentially, worsening the company’s pressure over the population even more. By the beginning of the 19th century, the growing british textile industry began pushing the domestic production, once again getting the company to push for a dismantling of local manufacturing to pave the way to british wears. And all of this was done with only a couple thousand british soldiers on their payroll. Most of their forces were natives, the “sepoys”, trained in the western ways of war. However, the growing resentment within the sepoy was always a worrying prospect, and the company seemed uninterested in their concerns. Low pay and religious and cultural clashes were grinding the sepoys loyalty, slowly but surely.
>>97209894The spark that lit the fires of rebellion began in 1857. The introduction of a new rifle into service resulted in an unexpected problem for the company’s authorities: to use the weapon, the soldier needed to bite down the cartridges, cartridges that were rumored to be greased with cow and pig fat. Both hindus and muslims categorically rejected the use of said rifles for religious reasons. This refusal and the rigidity of company command towards the sepoys’ complains ended up in disaster, as units began mutinying against british authority. Famously, the planned hanging of Mangal Pandey, a sepoy in the 34th Regiment of the Bengal Native Infantry, and leader of the original mutiny, was stopped when two dozen white tigers leaped into his execution and attacked the crowd. By the time the animals had been shot dead, Mangal Pandey was nowhere to be seen. The strange disappearance of the original instigator began spreading across different areas, feeding the fires of rebellion. In many cities, the sepoy garrisons rose against their british leadership, often supported by the local population, leading to violent reprisals from both sides. In particular, during the rise of the Delhi garrison, Mangal Pandey himself appeared in front of the Bahadur Shah, the Mughal emperor, to personally ask him for support for the rebellion against the british, which he accepted. He was proclaimed by the crowd as Bahadur Shah II, emperor of India.
>>97209900From here, the rebellion quickly engulfed the entire subcontinent. Spreading quickly over northern and central India, it grew much faster than any within the EIC could have possibly predict. Too much and too fast to be a natural occurrence, indeed, and many british officers believed that one of their western rivals had been planning the rebellion for years, only to sprung at the first chance. Despite the best efforts of the british command, the rebels seemed to be much better established than a rebellion should be: they were everywhere, able to intercept the british forces and their supplies when they least expected, and they fled before their counterstrike could hit them, with an uncanny prescience to where to pick their fights. Lords who maintained their loyalty to the EIC turned out dead in strange circumstances, replaced by men more favorable to the rebellion, or joined the Mughal emperor against the westerners without any plausible explanation. The continuous successes baffled the british, and the reprisals only resulted in more states joining in, or many of the allied indian states falling into unrest and civil war. Trying to salvage the situation before getting swarmed, the East India Company pleaded the british government to send military aid, least british influence was lost in the region. The Crown reticently accepted, launching a massive spearhead assault at Delhi, trying to decapitate the newly restored Mughal authority.
>>97209904The Battle of Delhi, also known as “the Great Siege of Delhi”, was by far the biggest fight of the war. Bringing all the men and artillery they could bear, the EIC fought in the city for months. Famously, during the heat of batte, Mangal Pandey took a bullet for Mirza Mughal, son of the Mughal emperor Bahadur Shah II, killing him instantly. While the death of one of the icons of the rebellion helped rally the defenders for a while, gloom began setting in, threatening to break their spirit. When all seemed lost for the defenders, a rescue force, led by strange robed men, attacked the british from the rear. Clad in robes and bizarre armor, wielding weapons from another age, and even bringing strange beasts to battle, they managed to force the british to flee from the city.
>>97209909This would be the first public action of the “lemurian cult”, as the british first described it, many years before learning of its true agarthan nature. It is not well known the full extent of lemurian intervention or how long they had infiltrated the region (some sources now claim that they were there even before western arrival to India, resulting in wild speculation as to the existence to an entrance to the 6th in the region, but these rumors have not been substantiated yet). However, we do know now that one of their main weapons to fight the british was their knowledge of prophecy and the study of the future. Their mystical arts that allowed to be one step ahead of the british and help push the tide faster and faster against them. After Delhi, their forces began appearing much more frequently on the battlefield, and while their numbers were always small, their unorthodox ways were difficult to counter for the already overwhelmed forces of the EIC. Their presence was a surprise for the Mughal leadership as well, who up to that point had not known that such a faction was working from the shadows.
>>97209915The defeat of the british at Delhi spelled disaster for the EIC. Forced to bring more and more soldiers from the homeland to defend their claims over the indian peninsula, the popular opinion of the war began to worsen. Many saw the East India Company as an incompetent waste of money and lives, whose ineptitude had costed the empire their most prized possession. With war against the Quing and the Taiping in China, the british government was beginning to fear being overwhelmed in Asia, and began diplomatic efforts to ask for help to other european powers to quell the rebellion. After all, France still had enclaves they would want to protect, as well as Portugal, so their support could help bolster their numbers. However, the british diplomats were shocked by the revelation that the Mughal envoys had arrived at a compromise first. Presenting the overwhelming numbers that the rebellion had managed to mobilize, their victories against the british, and promising french and portuguese authorities full recognition to their territorial rights, they pledged to remain neutral for the rest of the war.
>>97209918The rebellion was at a tipping point: the british were at risk of being overwhelmed fully, losing ground fast to the south, but still keeping a strong foothold east of the Hooghly River. On their part, while the rebellion was more successful than anyone could have anticipated, internal strife was beginning to appear. Fights between local nobility, many of which did recognize the Mughal leadership for the rebellion but not their rule over their lands, began breaking out, quickly stalling the advance of the rebel forces in many areas. Seeing the writing on the wall, british diplomats forced the EOI to began parlaying with the Mughal leaders. The resulting Treaty of Calicut in 1858 forced the EOI to abandon the now independent New Mughal Empire (or as many call it now, the Neo Mughal) and to never return. In exchange, the Neo Mughal recognize british claims over Assam, Bengal and Ceylon, and promise to not intervene in any british action in neighboring Burma. The Neo Mughal also agree to pay for all loss of company property, though the difficulties to calculate the value of said property meant that this was instead replaced by a series of deals for the continued provision of opium.
>>97209924The birth of the Neo Mughal Empire sent shockwaves throughout the British Empire. With the british having lost the biggest and most profitable possession in Asia, they now faced a massive crisis, both in terms of prestige and financial stability. The british bank system, having invested greatly in the subcontinent, was suddenly rocked as all those investments disappeared into nothing. The bankruptcy of “Lloyd's of London” led to a chain reaction, with multiple banks in Great Britain, France and Prussia feeling the effects of it. The East India Company, under immediate bankruptcy after the signing of the Treaty of Calicut, many of the leaders of the company were put into immediate investigation. The trials of the EIC’s military leaders was highly publicized, though the later Malcolmite Rebellion allowed many to avoid the blame. Many of the company’s assets were taken over by the state, and the Bengal and Assam territories were put under direct authority of the crown. The remaining of the East India Company was turned into the “Nether Earth Trading & Exploration Company”, popularly known as the “Nether Earth Company” (N.E.C.), and put to the task of making the New Wellington colony in Pangea somehow profitable.
>>97209928As for the Neo Mughal, their victory was only the start to a slow process of unification under a new government. While the Neo Mughal claim ownership of most of the subcontinent, in reality the Mughal control was much weaker than anticipated. Many princely states immediately began fighting for their independence, as they only partook in the rebellion as allies, and not as subjects to the Mughal lord. Political and religious tensions began to run rampant across the empire, especially against the Sikh community. As most of them sided with the british during the war, they suffered great reprisals and persecutions, with the resulting Mughal-Sikh War ravaging the Punjab region for almost a decade until it was fully subdued. Tens of thousands of sikh have crossed the mountains north to either arrive to Southern China or to Central Asia under the Tsardom, and many others risk great peril moving east to British Bengal. The princely states of Kashmir and Hyderabad also rebelled, and while their clashes have not been as bloody as the fight in Punjab, tensions keep flaring up. From the north, the Kingdom of Nepal and the Afghan Emirat are trying to expand southwards, keeping the northern side of the empire always on alert.
>>97209931The newly established Mughal government in Delhi is trying to focus on achieving unity across the empire. After Bahadur Shah II died in 1862, his son Mirza Mughal was crowned as Akbar III. Greatly influenced by lemurian mysticism, he is planning to continue the project of his ancestor Akbar I, the “Din-I Ilahi” philosophy of unity and harmony between the different faiths of the subcontinent, now intertwined with lemurian mysticism. The difficulty of lemurian mystics and lords is difficult to quantify, though many within the top ranks of his administration are of lemurian origin. This is worrying many non-lemurian lords and nobles, as the tendency to blindly follow prophecy makes them passive followers of fate in their eyes.
We could probably tie this lore a bit more with the lemurian one. Any suggestions how?
Also, for the option of a neomughal book, here are some tokens and units I've made. I do need to add more lemurian-related stuff, so any ideas would be appreciated. >>97194909>Brahmin-ProphetDo you have any idea for the unit's art?
>>97214523>I do need to add more lemurian-related stuff, so any ideas would be appreciated.I'd vote for just having a few Lemurian units available as mercs (Agent, Pythia, etc) and hero options to unlock more (Specifically War Shaman, maybe Officer.)Very good to take put the Steam House in
>>97218931>I'd vote for just having a few Lemurian units available as mercsI was thinking of allowing that as a trait, like the british one allowing you to get malcolmites. Also, I do have a couple of ideas for neo-mughal x lemurian units, like this (inspired by the women army of the queen Rani Lakshmibai, given to the lemurians and turned into cultivated, almost automata warriors, though I think I'm getting how cultivation works wrong...).
>>97218931Also, maybe this as an inversion of "epigean becomes more agarthan", and this unit, where a lemurian noble/warrior becomes taken by epigean ways of war. Not sure how to fit it exactly without them becoming heretics for the lemurian ways...
>>97218995>Not sure how to fit it exactly without them becoming heretics for the lemurian ways...Guns aren't cheating if you use trickshots and noscopes. Those require cultivation and prophecy.
By the way, how many units from the charts actually have profiles?
>>97220071All of the units for the first three charts should. Some are jokes like the Star Ancestor. Quite a few never made it into a book so if you want any reposted please let me know.
>>97221029I was checking if there were some units that would fit a neo mughal book, but other than the rajput sepoy, I think there are none.
>>97221542For what it's worth, I don't personally believe that every mentioned faction needs to be a full book faction. Some, like Olms, Neo-Mughals, and Ethiopia, can just be microfactions with only a handful of units.
>>97221653I agree, though I imagine the neo-mughal are too relevant for the lore to not have a book. Even then, I imagine a lot of their units could be re-skins or derivates from the lemurian book.
Not been able to post much due to Holiday craziness, next week should be a bit lighter. I have an idea for a Mu Revenant conversion by painting watered-down liquid greenstuff onto a Roman's face and then smudging in any features needed but it might not come out right. Only one way to find out really.
Finally got the Mughal book more or less done. It's a bit of a mishmash of different traits and clone units from different books, but I think it came out unique enough. Any feedback will be appreciated.

Merry christmas, everyone!
Have a holiday Revenant. This one is a test unit to see how assembly and painting works for something like this. >>97249356Could anyone post the most recent 3rd layer maps, especially those with settlements, both Colonial and Deepfolks?
>>97250227Sure.
>>97250355Thank you! Holidays have been very busy, so I've taken the last 2 weeks off, but I've been wanting to work on the "econ" campaign, and I'm right now thinking of turning it into a proper old school hex-crawl. Something that might be a bit closer to a roleplaying game or perhaps a solo game. Some rules to generate job opportunities depending where you are, how many game maps you have to get through to get to your objective, stuff like that. Unrelated, but holy shit this capcha is dumb. Am I suffering from cognitive decline or is everyone else also not understanding the fuck is up with the pairs?
>>97252647Do you need them without boxes and colonies marked?
>>97252996Nah! I'm good, marking the territories isn't that long (outside of France's, which is just humongous), and I'm not sure which order of putting stuff is the best for it to come out looking good, this is very much a prototype. I'm glad at least I got a tiny bit of the USA's in there, I didn't even realize that. I tried doing the same with the full map, but Paint 3d couldn't handle the sizes involved. Very rough estimate, but the hexes came at about 80 miles across from what I could eyeball. What I'm thinking, for the "hexcrawl" version, would be that you build a small company, start in a city, and have a few options to generate job opportunities, trade mission requested, escort missions, reinforcement, labour employment, exploration, etc. A bit like, in Sunless Sea, when you are in Fallen London, so if you are in Fallen Paris you can check with the Societe if they have some missions for you. You generate a target location (figuring how to do this the best is what's bugging me now) and must reach it. Each hex you have to travel through would be a game map (obviously, not a 1:1 translation, but represent that one dangerous situation your Expedition got into during that week of travel). These games would set you more against NPCs. Probably some rules to speed up travel inside your frontiers, on roads or rivers, or through Airship or on boats. I've already figured out a bit of an event system to make the travel games a bit more chaotic. Will post more on this as soon as I feel it has enough structure to make sense.

and and also> Arms Industry Connection needs to be reworked, I was thinking, "for each model with this rule, you may either equip one Friendly Faction model with a Hyperborean Relic, or grant one Friendly Faction model's Firearm with the Belt-fed Gun or Telescopic Agarthan Engineering mods, free of cost. > Should I put the Half-Husk Gunslinger and the Undertaker directly in, or keep them as mercenaries?
>>97260891I'm glad you like it. >USA refreshWill you add the all american morlock marine we discussed in a previous thread?
>>97260891Also> Mini-Faction booksI'm not sure if we need to make individual books for the mini-factions. The Mercenary book has each of the non-nation factions there: an intro, some lore, an image, their special rule if they have one, and a list of the units available. We could do that for things such as the american abolitionists, or the egyptian book. > Should we remove the US Marine now that we have the Morlock Marine? No need, they are different enough. >> Added a Stage Coach special unitMaybe using multiple stage coaches in a circular formation could give buffs to the units inside? >We could also use a dedicated Industrialist leaderIsn't John D. Rockefeller the obvious option?
>>97260926> Should I put the Half-Husk Gunslinger and the Undertaker directly in, or keep them as mercenaries? No reason not to add them, we added the torero to the spanish book.
>>97260994>I'm not sure if we need to make individual books for the mini-factions.The only 3 I have in mind myself are the Abolitionists, the Lost Men and La Ombre, the last 2 exists but have not been polished enough in my opinion to warrant uploading.to the TTS mod (soon, I put some time on La Ombre as well in the last 2 weeks). The unifying thread to those 3 is that they are small groups with increasingly higer concept goals, from the mundane to the metaphysical, and having made pacts with fell powers in order to do so. Way I see it, Napoleon is the least relatable anti-hero imaginable. Every encounter with him needs to be made into some sort of Hoffmanesque scene. Malcolm is a lot more relatable, but he is still fighting a nationalistic revolution that we can't really see him achieving anyways. Abolitionists would be a more relatable way to showcase a deal with the devil made on good intentions. Anyways, that was the general idea behind the three being "put together"...
>>97261624Since we're on the topic, I had some ideas rattling around to dump out. I never managed to piece them together into something I liked though:>Tubman was living in New York (State not city) at the time of the raid>New Mu takes slaves as seen with the Morlocks, probably human ones too, maybe several Americans>Tubman had served as a scout/spy during the Civil War and led troops>Confederato forces are running around in the 4th layer as part of the golden syndicate too, the same layer New Mu mainly lives on>Also Atlan existsNapoleon semi-accidentally on purpose unlocked his powers by shooting himself, Malcolm (was nagged by his GF) sought out the Shadow Palace on the 8th (I think), so my view is that someone/thing went to the surface and offered Tubman her deal. She was retired with a family at the time of the New York raid so unless someone went out of their way to get her going I don't see her moving from civilian life to a millitary one again. I kept working over the idea of her joining the long march on her own to help free captured Americans, but by the 1870s I think it would have been more likely she would have worked to raise money instead unless some mysterious force gave her cool powers to help guide the long march.>Stage Coach as RenaultLike the War Wagon from that one film or a more classic wooden one? Considering the US' mobility gimmick I vote for the latter. For lost men, do you want any polishing assistance? I wrote some of the current ones and can try to elaborate on what I was going for in the case of clumsy wording.
>>97263014>>Tubman ...I'm good with these. Tubman could likely have met someone in the Underground however, since the Abo started going underground earlier than most (even if they didn't realize where they were going). The New Mu affair, especially if there was some shady backdoor deal with Atlan, would work better imo as a justification for her feeling a sense of urgency and getting worried her cause is losing relevancy. We could also aggregate a few other social movements under the larger umbrella of the Abolitionists. >Like the War Wagon from that one film or a more classic wooden one? Considering the US' mobility gimmick I vote for the latter.Latter, and given how strong the US range game is, just parking a Gunslinger and another model on top already gives you a pretty darn good firebase, I wouldn't want to emphasize that too much. >>97260994>Maybe using multiple stage coaches in a circular formation could give buffs to the units inside?I like that very much, I'll try to work that in. >Isn't John D. Rockefeller the obvious option?I guess so, not being a burger makes these things much less obvious to me, desu. Doesn't necessarily need to be a named character either. >>97263014>For lost men, do you want any polishing assistance?Given their mercenary recruitment rules, its not strictly necessary to add units, they'll already have access to everything in the Merc book, but have to respect the 50% rules otherwise. The Lost Man is probably much too cheap at 3 Silver, either it keeps the base Discipline or loses 1 Health box?
>>97267280I vote against having a named guy for the industrialist. We already have Edison in the background and the Neptunium baron for oil stuff, having an ambitious but as-of-yet unsuccessful generic character works better in my mind. Most famed American industrialists were not known for getting out in the field too often.>Lost Man priceWhen I wrote it, however long ago that was, I think most units were a little cheaper. Instead of adding any more caveats to the already fairly complicated rule governing them I'd recommend just bumping the price up to where they're still cheaper than the units they imitate. At a price of 5ish they aren't economical to copy cheap mercs like the Outlander Irregular, but they do add a bit of a discount when picking up classics like the rebel. Three lost men at a price of 5 each and three rebels to copy gives you 36 silver as opposed to 42 for six rebels flat.It mostly comes down to the ratio of discount we're looking for, keeping in mind the risk of the models becoming effectively worthless if they get moralblasted. Keeping their price the same but reducing their native stats could also work.

>>97267280If you're looking for an American businessman that enjoyed his time 'down-country', go for George Hearst. Depicted quite well in the American western mini-series 'Deadwood'. He lacked any formal education past the elementary stage, and learned by observing mining operations in his native Missouri. Built a gold and silver mining empire throughout the Dakota territories OTL, and his wealth would go on to launch the career of his more famous newspaper-owning son, William Randolph Hearst. He would be pretty old, 64, by the time of the setting. Otherwise, I would mirror the sentiments of prior responses. Just go the Spanish route and make him generic, maybe make the player pick a company that he represents to give him some flavor. Edison Electrical, railways, mining, agriculture, etc.
>>97271172>Just go the Spanish route and make him generic, maybe make the player pick a company that he represents to give him some flavor. Edison Electrical, railways, mining, agriculture, etc.Probably the best, though if that is done other sponsors shouldn't be elegible alongside it, for balancing purposes (like the heiress or the eccentric investor).
>>97263014Was the Abolitionist position fully fleshed out by earlier posts? The course of the American Civil War is thoroughly written insofar as this setting goes, but was there any exploration as to the Abolitionist attitude towards Agarthan societies that continue to practice chattel slavery? Had their ambitions of 'Am I not a man and a brother?' stopped at the entrance to the Inner Earth, or are they working towards some kind of broader emancipation down below?
>>97271908Not that anon, but if I had to guess, I imagine all tribes below who want to integrate and/or deal with the US for anything would have to free their slaves and end their slave trade. Perhaps it happens with the other epigean powers (with the exception of Leopoldville, though that is hidden by the city's authorities). Atlan, New Mu and Atlantis would be too big to be forced to free their slaves, though. Abolitionists could be seen by them as a threat to their authority (same for the Sky Clans, though that could vary from clan to clan).
>>97232032Flavorful stuff. Consideration might be paid towards a Caste system mechanic, which was notably preserved by the OTL Mughals. After dealing with the overlapping complex rules in the Austrian book, that might be too much to ask. The math as far as stats seem sound. The spooking rules for the elephant-based units might need some interaction with other mounts, horses/camels, to reflect the sight/sound/smell interaction they're noted as having. The meme regarding elephants being supreme on the battlefield holds water, as other forms of cavalry would have their mounts spook when in contact with elephants. Conversely, Indian and African elephants have distinct issues when dealing with small insects in the vein of mosquitos and bees. May not be relevant to revising the rules, but it remains interesting.
>>97271974>Cast mechanicI did think of adding that as a general mechanic, but it did screw with some of the rules, plus choosing to make the general rule closer to the lemurian prophecies was much simpler.>Elephant spooking ruleI'm not keen of buffing more the elephants by adding penalties to the opponent's cavalry. They are already quite dominant. And if we increased their price accordingly, many would not pick them, as they would be prohibitely expensive. >BeesNot related to the book, but I wanted to add a beekeeper-like agarthan unit, even if it was just for the memes. Not sure if I should propose it before the mercenary book refresh, though.
>>97272057>BeekeeperWith all the noncombatant and settler-type units that are emerging it might be advisable to move them to the campaign book or their own thing. Or not, since we do already have a lot of books. For the beekeeper something tells me it would be cool if instead of having a beekeeping structure for Merovingian bees you instead house them in a guard tower from the tribal book. They need a large bee home for their large bee bodies.

Updated the timeline. This reminds me we need to re-write some of the wiki articles to take into account the lore updates, particularly those related to the Second Oriental Crisis and the Italo-Ethiopian War.
>>97275322>I really like the volumetric thing you have going with the edges.Ok, I'll try to keep those. > USAOk, gonna try to get it done for this evening, here's the New Alamo Outlaw. Very cheap, low Discipline, that will likely require you to use Ambush mechanics or loading up on Alcohol to get them to push through the mid and late game. Thinking there could be some campaign mechanics (maybe a Criminal sponsor?) where that roll may turn into a promotion mechanic. Any feedback on switching the Gunslinger to a Specialist profile?
>>97279360Stage Coach. Lots of rules, but I think it should be simple enough once it hit the table. Shelter rules are for the Frontier Settler, if you load on them then all you have to do is give your passenger Warm Meals and you'll recoup a part of your cost. Not enough to turn it into a legitimate econ engine, but a start. RAW there's nothing to prevent you from using the Stage Coach's Embarked models for the various Ambushes, so there's a bit of gimmick there to pull as well. (Fml new kitten likes to tapdance on my keyboard I had to rewrite this twice already... )
>>97279360Now that I think of it, could we make a gunslinger unit that is a "bounty hunter"? Maybe it gets twice the amount of silver from the units with the "criminal" keyword. There are so many variations of the "gunslinger cowboy" we could use (plus, it's fun making their art).
>>97279360>Gunslinger as SpecialistI'd be alright with that, but could we have a ranger trait that lets you take them as Elite? That way you could still have a posse
>>97280102>>97280143We could easily do both through traits, let me see.
>>97280143How about this, + Posse rules on the Ranger?

Alright, this one has been taking longer than the others to complete for some reason, so, partial map, lots of open terrain, water and swamps. > USASorry for the delay, ended up realizing it really needed 1 or 2 more profiles to hold together well, one of them is a bit more complex to figure out, so I'm hoping for tomorrow evening.
>>97294377This being one of the two, I think I will move the Half Wolf to a Specialist profile and rework his Call of the Wild ability. I will fine tune the formation line as well to make sure its 100% clear how the unit moves. I am also thinking of adding some rule to it, the Half Wolf and the Cattler so that NPC beasts are less likely to be given control to the USA Player, as a way to balance the Knight of the Wild Frontier.
>>97294484Should the dog sled be counted as "beast"? The alaskan huskies already count as such. There are many rules that shouldn't apply to the sled itself but should to the dogs or viceversa (the snake charmer, the torero, the sebastianist conversion rule...).
Also, whatever happened to the hyperborean NPC critters?
>>97296671Sidelined as I can't edit/finish that doc, WPS went into greedy capitalist mode all of a sudden, and there are many books needing a facelift, most I'd say more important than an NPC book. I'll get back to it eventually, but I'd really like to get USA, La Ombre, Lost Men, the Abolitionists and Satsuma & Japan done before I get back to those. As well as pump out enough maps to finally make some form of randomized multi map/random map encounters functional. Speaking of which, finished this one >>97294377 today, next will be some tropical island, especially at this scale and with the volumetric hexes I think it'll come off well. >>97295150The base sled is meant to have 3 doggos included in it, without having additional models placed in front, you can recruit it as a single hex model basically, but you kinda forgo most of the advantages of bringing it by doing so. I'll try to make it come across more clearly.
>>97297703If you need help with the npc book, I can help. Do you need art or rules for the profiles?
>>97297855Just rules, there were a few too many imagines and suggestions offered, so I had to choose. I had the Hyperborean Beast, Silk Maggots, Mean Monkey, Asbestos Bear, Hyperborean Intruder & Flying Mistray left to be done. NPCs are a bit different than normal profiles and are on a scale so I might rework some stuff if I feel it might be too time-consuming to manage in game or if there are some occasions to streamline/integrate some other Hyperborean stuff with it.
>>97298114Could you upload the file of what is done until now on the discord? From there I can continue making rules for the rest.
