What system has the best rules for playing as a giant?
>>97166949What worldbuilding?
>>97166984What?
I'm getting strong "bumpfag" vibes from this thread...
>>97167061What does that mean?
>>97166949really you could just run a custom giant camping. every pc could be some flavor of big boy and you fight big monsters.
>>97167175That's why I'm trying to find a system to be able to do thatI tried running a one shot using 5e and it was lacking in what we wanted to do mechanically
>>97166949GURPS probably, but the size rules for WFRP4e make playing really big characters like Orges fu,n but rather easy
>>97167061>"BOOMPERS could be here", he thought. "I've seen this type of thread before. There could be BOOMPERS anywhere." The cool wind felt good against his fat stomach. "I HATE BOOMPERS" he thought. Diggy Diggy Hole reverberated his entire tabletop, making his dice rattle even as the discount 8-pack mtn dew circulated through his cholesterol-clogged veins, washing away his (merited) fear of literary lords making threads. "With an imagination, you can go anywhere!" he said to himself, out loud.
>>97167184Well what do you want to do mechanically? Maybe start with that?
>>97167184Your lack of imagination isn't the fault of any system. Also, if everyone is a giant, and they are fighting giant monsters, how is that any different than normal guys fighting normal monsters, just with bigger sound effects?
>>97167289Well the basics I want are>Characters are large and manageable despite their size>Rules for engaging in mass combat >Mechanics for crafting armor from monster remains >Wrestling rules
>>97167300That's my pointIt just ended up being the same as playing dnd as medium sized creatures but now everyone is bigger We tried things like having most be low intelligence and having moments like boulder throwing but it just didn't feel right and felt lacking
>>97166984kek, i get it>>97167006he subverted expectations>>97167061agreed>>97167071lurkmoar
Original 1974 dnd
>>97166949Unironically GURPS since races don't have to be balanced with each other there.
>>971673093.5e offers size scale mechanics. They are more refined in pathfinder.>Wrestling rulesoof
>>97166949Digimon Digital Adventures 1.4 lets you create any Digimon at any size. /tg/ will whine about DDA being lazy but Digimon have been depicted in so many different ways in so many different canons that having it be classless point buy is a strength, not a weakness. So you have that OVA Huge agumon or colossal greymon.2e gimps size by limiting it and nerfing movement for larger sizes (which the system DOES NOT need, movement is dogshit in 2e and it is so bad it's a meme even among fans of the system while the dev is extremely averse to increasing it even 1-2 units for reasons beyond everyone's comprehension), but there's a variant rule to uncap sizes so again, play that Colossal agumon champ you deserve it.Best of all, there's not really any of that WOTC bullshit where being bigger is just objectively better, in 1.4 it's only beneficial on a grappler which is the anti-fun playstyle with very little support. In 2e, all Sizes get small boosts to various stats, so your Size will depend on your Build or flavor more than what you need, and since Clashing got nerfed this is the main draw. Bigger digimon have higher CPU, which does make them better at clashing, but clashing (grappling) is now 3d6 + CPU + RAM, so smaller digimon are better at avoiding a clash (though they need the Monster Strength Quality, a 1 point power, to actually clash with larger opponents), and there are qualities that benefit each.I'll say this, my current 2e mon' is set to go from Large (1x1x1 square unit) to Colossal (4x4x4 square units) when the game kicks back on in January (we're taking a break for the holiday season due to scheduling being a bitch this time of year) since the line is Agumon > Kinkakumon > Skullgreymon > a black recolor of VictoryGreymon and goes Medium > Large >Colossal > Large/ 1x1x1/1x1x1/4x4x4/1x1x1.
>>97167061I'm getting strong BOSS BABY vibes, personally.
>>97166949gg ez
>>97166949BattleTech. They call them PBIs for a reason, though you'll probably still want a lot of anti-infantry weapons. You don't win without a few war crimes!
>>97166949>asks about giants>posts a pic of a dwarven pixie-slayer
>>97169458Is this a warhammer meme that I don't get?
Darksun with half-giant.
>>97166949Fantasy Craft has giants as a standard PC race option, as well as a couple of other Large race options.
>>97166949Third for GURPS. Especially if you use Combat Writ Large from Pyramid 3/77. Being huge makes you easier to hit, but gives you a discount on Strength, bonuses to grappling, bonuses to melee reach, and (if you're big enough) turns your melee attacks into Area Effect attacks and lets you trample over foes just by moving over them. Also, if you deal enough damage, then you can send foes flying with the Knockback rules. If using Combat Writ Large, then there are also rules for climbing onto a bigger creature, so giant characters can even become their own battlemap.
>>97166949Mutants & Masterminds. Because it has probably the most streamlined, consistent and easily applicable system for punting people, buildings, ships and even planets. No matter what it is you can easily see if your character capable of punting it and how far. You can easily have a giant brawl in the middle of the city with giants throwing each other left and right, toppling buildings, squashing humies and throwing horses at each other. Or shoving a bell from the church tower over the head of your opponent and ringing it.
