How do I justify electric guitars existing in my medieval fantasy setting?

thats not as anachronistic as you think it is. this is just a string instrument without a resonance chamber. its fundamentally no different from a lyre or harp or this thing, and would presumably be fairly common in a fantasy setting where magic can be used to amplify the vibrations instead. in fact, instruments (especially finely crafted ones) are precision objects with a lot of careful math and engineering behind them that get quite expensive even today when they're not handcrafted. the magically amplified M-guitar is probably fairly common

don't bards get some infinite spell called Prestidigitation? and one of the potential affects is to make sounds?

>DM oh please may i use my cantrips to amplify the guitar, like an electric guitar? it would be an epic win part of the story! forget playing and seeing what happens during the game, don't i have a really funny idea?

there you go.

In a universe where music can have actual magical properties like D&D or Warhammer, musical instruments would be a major area of research and development for any government or other power institution, so it's likely that modern instruments would appear earlier in the timeline than in the real world. Not only that, if electronic speakers and radio could be used to transmit magic as well as sound, bardic-type magic would probably become the dominant form of magic once the infrastructure became advanced enough. The recording industry and the military-industrial complex would be even more indistinguishable in a magi-tech society than in real life.

Could just go with it being enchanted, who going to argue if it enchanted

>Your lute/guitar has been enchanted by storm sorcery, it no longer sounds the same but something greater, that rocks your head as you play it and the urge to smash it against the floor (or your foe's head) when you finish a song

... by simply having an electric guitar used by the (N)PC?
And I mean it. You don't need to invent reasons. It's just there. And nobody questions it.

Pic related is a magic-intruded real-world Magnum that a demon granted to a blood thirsty dude simply to give him easier way of killing things. Never runs of ammo, too. Well, it does, but it can be quickly resupplied by throwing up some more, so... Either way - it's there, and it work.

OP might be asking inconsequential question, but you demanding a setting, when OP already provided, is just part of the standard shitposting, announcing loud and clear this is a worthless thread and even if anyone will take you seriously, you will pop up to make sure that won't last.
Also: enjoy the (You).

They don't even have to be "electric" unless you want elemental theming, in which case you could also have alternatives like flaming guitars.

Demons (and other outsiders) exist beyond both space AND time. They have access to both ancient spells and future technologies, and will happily trade these bits of knowledge in exchange for favors and the like.

The best way to include modern and future technology is always to have it supplied by a demon, which introduces the amusing concept that every new technology that appears will have a dozen religious orders descending down upon it in order to determine if it was a genuine invention or some ill-gotten and forbidden knowledge obtained from a demon.

When did /tg/ start hating this artist
>>
>>97175006
It didn't.
You're looking at a weird and persistent singular shitposter, the woyafag, who grew so incredibly frustrated when Ribbon was voted into the /tg/ banner a decade ago that he vowed that he would shitpost himself hoarse whenever he'd see her on this board.
He's been trying to force his "work on your art" shitpost for almost a full decade now.
>>
>>97174937
There's nothing for him to ruin. This is a garbage thread devoid of content. Which is the point. Either you're too stupid to see that or you're in on it.

Never. There's a mod that does and one or two dudes who ritualpost about it. Kinda like the puckee situation. Wouldn't be surprised if it was the same faggot mod, either.

Multiverse and multiple timelines.
If you live in the Abyss, time exists there as one timeline. You can however connect to countless Material Planes, at different points in their own times.

From a demon's point of view, they really don't care about mortals or the Material Plane all that much because it's distinctly less "fixed/solid/real", and all they really care about is what they can potentially extract from the plane or amuse themselves with. To an outsider, the Material Plane is almost like a video game, and they care only as much as different people might care about a game like the Sims.

Some celestials may try to carefully guide mortals and help them live their best lives. Some demons may remove all the toilets and trash bins from a house and then delete all the doors and then laugh at the trapped mortals as the house gets filled with trash and censored piles of unknown material.

It's so weird to me how they NEVER have an answer. I've NEVER seen one of these garbage reddit-ass threads where the OP is actually playing in, or planning to run, a game. I know Warhammer fans sneer at secondaries but at least they're actually consuming something from Warhammer, not just doing creative writing prompts.

"Name a system" is not some amazing guarantee of authenticity. Trying to get people to cow to your shitposting by demanding that they include some system name in the OP or be seen as an outsider would just make trolls/spammers tag on "in 5e" or "40k", not unlike the "stat me" or "X vs 40k" offtopic spam threads we saw in the past.

Your demands also make little sense, and make me wonder whether people who want to try and gatekeep like yourself actually understand how people play games. People often play more than one system here. Some people even play radically repurposed systems or even total homebrew. And, many people want as wide of an opinion base as they can gather here, and the idea of tying down a question to a specific system changes it from a virile discussion starter to a limp inquiry most effectively answered with "google it."
>>
>>97176069

>>
>>97170168
you spaghett it yourself, niggeroni, it's medieval _fantasy_. just make enchanted strings that play loud sounds when strummed.
>>
>>97176069
>changes it from a virile discussion starter to a limp inquiry
It's always a limp inquiry. Calling it a discussion starter would imply that OP has been trying to have a discussion with anyone who gave an earnest answer to his question.
It's so limp that the thread got derailed by someone fucking WOYAposting.

It doesn't matter how much you pretend this is a good way to start a thread. Anyone can just look at the thread and see that there wasn't any discussion happening before things got derailed.
>>
>>97175636
>a simple planar jaunt to the Abyss allows for time travel
That seems rather ill thought out.
