Post franchises you think should be or should have gotten tabletop RPGs or war games.

Considering how wild the 90's was, I'm legitimately surprised this of all things didn't get one, frankly.

Tekwar is a pile of shit though. It's barely sci-fi.

Yeah, but I'm still surprised it never got an RPG. Just seems like it would have been one of those franchises a company in the 90s tried to force into it.

Like the Lawnmower Man one or Dallas.

I suppose I can kind of see your point, but the one I was trying to make is there there wasn't enough to Tek War to make into an RPG. It's honestly baffling that they were able to stretch out it's paper thin premise into a bad Build Engine video game out of it.

There were novels before the TV series and the game happened.

I'm aware, but it's essentially just a generic cop story where they sometimes talk about computers and microchips. It's a sci-fi future where everything is 90% the same as the 80s, but people are addicted to narcotic VR porn instead of cocaine and meth.

Glorantha should have an official wargame with hard plastic kits.

Stargate had official minis for a bit iirc but didn't get a skirmish or wargame for them.

I'm also surprised that Star Trek didn't get a wargame. DS9 seemed like a great stepping off-point for it.

I'm not talking about naval combat games.

There was an expansion of SFB that focused on ground invasions. No idea how it worked, tho.

Grimjack. Honestly surprised nobody tried given the popularity of planescape.

I think about the Trigan empire 15 to 20 times a day

Weird how there was never an actual Dorsai game, given how wildly influential it was.

ExoSquad feels like such a nobrainer. I know it's just Mech Warrior with the serial numbers filed off, but you'd think a minis wargame or at least a jank-as-fuck TTRPG would have been a given

What is sci-fi?
