>>97176188>TQMy GM put F into our game after she became a Knight who could help the two Padawans in our party through their own version of the Trials. At the end of the campaign we had her, Quinlan Vos, Rahm Kota and that little weirdo from Force Unleashed to help try and reform the Jedi Order.
>>97176188>Have you included any Visions stuff in your game, or have the Visions stories inspired any sessions? No, and I prefer my Twi'leks with cute accents, not Br'ish slag dialect.>Would you like to see Visions characters/designs to make it into Shatterpoint or Legions?Yes. New models are always good, even if I did not like all Visions episodes.
>>97177840>Tawkin shit 'bout moy Yarkshure Twi-Leks
>>97176188>TQ:I did recently run a session inspired by In The Stars from season 2:>Party are Stormtroopers.>An Imperial Stripmining operation has been constantly failing their audits, apparently due to Rebels constantly sneaking in to steal the Durasteel for their own purposes.>Gang goes to the planet and talks with the people running the operation. Mostly mall-cop level Mudtroopers. Very underfunded operation.>Administrator blames the lack of funds for the terrible security.>After some investigation, they find where the Rebels are breaking in from, but note that the hole is too small to get any of the Durasteel out that way, so will have to be getting help from the inside.>They stake out the entrance to watch for Rebels entering.>They see what seems to be a father and daughter breaking in, when suddenly the base goes on high alert. The Rebels scarper, but know the ground better than any of the gang, so they escape with better Survival checks.>One of the party who rushes into the facility see's a Mudtrooper running towards him over one of the smelting pits when he's gunned down by the other Mudtroopers and the guy falls into one of the vat, melting away.>The troopers who shot explain that they found that guy about to start smuggling the Durasteel out to the rebels. Bad Perception checks means that the gang can't tell he's lying.>Another quick investigation leads the gang to find out that the place they are breaking into is no-where near the Durasteel shipping warehouse, but it is close to the Refinery.>They decide to just root out the Rebels. Following in the rough direction of the fleeing insurgents.>They pick up the Insurgeants trail and follow it to a cave.>Inside they hear a woman in a lot of pain.>Sneaking through the cave, they find the father. He's a LOT bigger than they expected (It becomes a joke that he's played by Pat Roach)>One of the gang tries to stealth-kill Pat, but flubs the stealth roll and Pat does very well on his Perception.
>>97178615>The party fights Pat, He manhandles them a bit, but they do eventually take him down.>As Pat goes down, suddenly, a young girl runs out from the back and force-pushes them away, before force healing her father to stabilize him.>The gang pumps the child full of stun rounds.>At this point, they find that the crying woman in the back was Pat's wife who has just given birth. She's in no position to fight back.>The gang then finds a burial site in the cave for a number of these native people. A Treat Injury check learns that most of died of dehydration. The mother is also on the verge of it.>They quickly realize that these people were breaking in to steal the water from the refinery, not the Durasteel, due to all of the fresh water supplies having been co-opted for the stripmining.>As they carry them all back to the base, they are met by several Mudtroopers who offer to take them back to base.>The gang accept, but quickly realize they are being lead the wrong way and all these Mudtroopers are a lot more heavily armed than before.>When the gang questions it, the Mudtrooeprs drop all pretenses and open fire.>They easily defeat the Mudtroopers.>Because of the heavy stripmining, the atmosphere is clogged with smog that their short range transmitters can't break through to talk to the ship.>So, the only way for them to get any reinforcements is to get back to the refinery and either steal their ship back, or use their more powerful communications array.Next week, they'll find out that the Administrator has been skimming off the top and selling the Durasteel to the Hutts for a load of extra dough and blaming the rebels. He was hoping that the Stormtroopers would just kill everyone and not ask any questions, but when they started asking questions, he planned to just kill them and make it look like the Rebels did it. So next time, some skull-cracking for a corrupt administrator.
>>97178326Yes, very cute. Lucky for you noone will buy her.
>>97178619Honest men in a corrupt system is always a kino setup.
>wonder what happened to yellow lighstabers since I never see them emntioned anymore>never watched the "new trilogy">realize no one is using yellow because of rey
>>97181078Should I bite the bullet and watch the new trilogy?
>>97181298No. Disney doesn't want to acknowledge them, the fans seem to uniformly hate them, there is zero reason to subject yourself to it if you haven't already.
Sometimes I think about that AU comic where Yoda dropped the Death Star onto Coruscant.
>>97181298Only if you have enough brain bleach alcohol around to forget them afterwards.
>>97181396Same. I still have it and read it from time to time. I wish they'd continued doing them.
>>97181298It's a kinda cringe way of spending an evening while getting drunk. Also, don't give Disney any moeny.TFA by itself is the least shit one, TLJ is just braincell-genocide tier idiotic and RotS is a sort of series of unrelated Star-Wars-ish looking scense tehy appear to have made, but they basically make no sense and I guess tehy had just given up at that point anyway.
>>97181622Wouldn't that kill everyone one on Curuscant? Which is an ecumenopolis with hundreeds of billions or even trillions of people on it?
>>97181363>>97181616>>97181748I only ask cause my in laws give me shit for dismissing them without having seen them..
>>97181786If you are going to watch them just keep in mind that rank only slightly above the Christmas Special in stupidity.
>>97181363>Disney doesn't want to acknowledge themExcept that they keep shilling them, keep using them to shill D+, keep making new merch, keep using them as a selling point for Disney Land and everything else. You know Disney's tagline:>Never back down, never surrender, never admit a mistake. They are NEVER going to retcon them, because that would be against their entire philosophy. From what we know of what's coming up, they're throwing a hail-mary that the new Rey film will do for the Sequels what Clone Wars did for the Prequels.
>>97181298As someone who's not subscribed to the 4chan "Everything is terrible" hivemind:>The Force AwakensIt's not got anything egregiously bad about it, it's just kinda a subpar retelling of A New Hope with, somehow, even more plot contrivences.>The Last JediA REALLY terrible film that desperately tries to deconstruct Star Wars, but ultimately bogs itself down in it's own barely cohesive plot. Kinda like Frozen with the whole "It spends so much time trying to pull the rug out from under the audience that they forgot to tell an actual story."Also, for some reason, the film takes a 45 minute detour to give you crappy PSA on the Military Industrial Complex.>Rise Of SkywalkerIt's... Much the same as Force Awakens, it's just fine. It doesn't really do anything to wow you, but it doesn't really do anything bad either. It just kinda exists. It spends most of its time desperately trying to fix the mistakes of Last Jedi. The real problem was that this was the moment where the trilogy needed to go big or go home and it decided to firmly go home. Every single play is as safe as possible.Pretty much, yes, without a doubt the worst trilogy. Mostly due to Kennedy refusing to make a cohesive story. As we understand it, Abrams, Johnson and Trevarrow each came to her with a Trilogy. And because she couldn't decide which one she'd prefer, she went>"Alright, guys. We're gonna take Abrams' first movie, then Johnsons middle movie and Trevarrow's finale. That'll make THE BEST trilogy."This ended up being "Fucking Retarded" and made an incoherent mess. Trevarrow was smart enough to leave.Best way to describe it is this:>Episode 1 leads into Episode 2, leads into Episode 3.>Episode 4 leads into episode 5, leads into episode 6>Episode 7 starts. Episode 8 runs off and does its own thing. Episode 9 has to spend the entire time dragging 8 kicking and screaming back in the original direction.
>>97181786You should counter their argument by noting that none of them would eat shit, but none of them have tried it either.Sometimes, you just know.
>>97181759It would be trillions inshallah
>>97181821Is the Rey film even coming?I realize it continues to show up in marketing, but the direct tie-ins you would expect of a truly successful trilogy you'd expect them to embrace have been noticeably lacking. The last direct linkage I can think of was Battlefront 2's campaign. Yes, we get oblique nods with shit like Gideon's cloning chambers and Project Necromancer in Bad Bitches, but compare that to the absolute deluge of shit during the launch of the PT, or the concentrated push for TCW after the PT struggled.
>>97181931>Also, for some reason, the film takes a 45 minute detour to give you crappy PSA on the Military Industrial ComplexI know the TLJ horse is so past dead and beaten that it's an unrecognizable pulp, but this comment brought something to mind for me I feel compelled to say.I will confess to gladly joining in with the grifters bitching about Admiral Dangerhair as one of the worst characters of all time. I also gladly joined in with the fans bitching about how lore-breaking the hyperspace ram was, and the fucking Starfortresses in the opening sucking huge dick. But in the theater, what really got my goat was the revelation that the whole Canto Bight excursion was utterly, completely pointless. You get a quick aesop about "arms dealers bad," the character used for it fucking disappears never to be heard from again, and then the movie drags on for another hour. I wouldn't have hated the hyperspace ram as much if it hadn't followed on that. I wouldn't have seethed about the perfunctory fight with Phasma if it hadn't followed that. I would have probably enjoyed the throne room betrayal and fight if it hadn't followed that. I could go on but you're getting the picture. The revelation that I had just sat through a 45 minute detour whose only point was a trite aesop and to let the director get his catharsis by destroying not!Monaco so he can dunk on le evil rich people left me cold in the moment, and only made me more bitter about it as it went on.
>>97181931>The Force AwakensMuch like the first Hobbit movie, An Unexpected Journey, I was really harsh on it when it first came out. But after seeing the next two in each trilogy, I look back on them both much more fondly.
>>97182103Yeah, the worst part about TLJ was definitely Rian Johnson just being a machild throughout production and using TLJ as a form of contrarian tantrum therapy. He wanted to make HIS movie, not a Star Wars movie, which is a terrible mindset for the guy you're trusting with a multibillion dollar franchise.I still blame Kennedy overall for legitimately being a fake fan and not understanding a single thing about why people liked Star Wars or other Lucasfilm movies, despite having worked with Lucas and Spielberg for decades.
>>97182178>I still blame Kennedy overallAs you should. She was the boss, the buck stops with her. Rian Johnson was a shitty choice (franky, JJ wasn't much better, he had just come off of raping Star Trek, and we want to entrust the other big space fantasy series to him?), but those were her calls and she should have known better.
>>97182178It really just starts and ends with the fact that they never made a trilogy. They just made three movies that happen to have the same characters in them and star wars on the poster.>>97182124TFA is the least bad of the three, but in the end it's just ANH with more lens flare and mystery boxes.>>97182103TLJ is bad on all levels. It's amazing how bad it is. In a way we need to put it in a museum as an example of what not to do.
>>97181931>"Alright, guys. We're gonna take Abrams' first movie, then Johnsons middle movie and Trevarrow's finale. That'll make THE BEST trilogy."This reminds me of an old writing exercise i was given in 4th grade where they split the class into 3 groups and gave us the rough overview of a story (Something about a pair of knights saving a princess from a Dragon) Each member of group 1 wrote a beginning. Group 2 each wrote a middle and Group 3 each wrote an ending. Then, we were split off and took turns putting our stories together.None of them made any sense except for the opening. But the middle and end parts all relied on the knights having stuff that was never set up for them in the other partsIt really taught me about the importance of plot consistency.
>>97182393>It really taught me about the importance of plot consistency.I really think people here who have played TTRPGs, maybe even DMed sessions or written plots, are even more baffled by how badly they dropped the ball. You don't even have to write down every last detail, but for fucks sake just have a rough outline that you stick to and keep your worldbuilding consistent.Every time your story requires a mcguffin to just be there, or you're forced to deus ex machina the characters or plot forward you need to fucking stop and rewrite that shit.
>>97182393>exquisite corpse but as a writing excerciseHonestly an Exquisite Corpse sort of method sounds like a fun way to make droids or uglies. Surprised there isn't more of those in official Star Wars stuff, frankendroids and weird uglies are always fun.
>>97181786Go for it, just don't pay for it. Being able to complain accurately is basically the only reason I watched TRoS - I went in knowing it was going to be bad, but I still underestimated just how retarded it would be.
>>97182017Call me to heaven, Allah does. Destroy the infidels, I shall.
