I wanted to make a warband out of the Undivided Chaos enemies in Space Marine 1 After the defeat of their warlord and the destruction of the warp device, the few renegades left on Graia were cut off. Without the power of the Psychic Scurge amplifying their connection to the warp, they could no longer warp back into the Eye after taking grievous injuries. Cut off from reinforcements and with agents of the Inquisition landing, the survivors of Nemeroth's warband chose to slink away in the vast forgotten corners of the forgeworlds and hives of Graia. These cells, sometimes only a few legionaries in strength would organize subterfuge and hit isolated outposts before disappearing, this guerilla campaign would be a thorn in the planetary administratum for years until reports of their attacks suddenly stopped. These attacks, raids, and infiltrations were all the leadup to the survivors of the warband escaping Graia, as stowaways in transport haulcraft. Once the ships were well underway, the Chosen hijacked the ships. With a small flotilla of haulcraft, loaded with newly made Imperial weapons, ammunition, and supplies, the Chosen of Nemeroth have become a fleet based warband, offering their services to the enemies of the Imperium as mercenaries, lending their strength in exchange for neophytes.

Ever since chaos dreadnauts were turned into hellbrutes their lore has bothered me.It used to be a Chaos dread was a hellish punishment since the marine couldn't feel anything through the machine senses, his rise in the rat race was arrested and he was disconnected between fights so he can just stew in the darkness, still not sure how they managed this since the dread would probably resist but it's theoretically possible. Hellbrutes however are 1:1 with the machine, they merge with it and feel it like it was their own body, not ignoring that the process probably sucks but these are still space marines so suck it up pussy. I also don't get how the whole remove the sarcophagus thing is still there when the pilot and the sarcophagus are physically merged with dread now.Like the old lore dreads had doesn't really work for what hellbrutes are.
