Why? I grew with cats and I never understood this stupidity of allowing cats to go wherever they want. They are pets not you.
>>
>>97207777
Quads observed. Cats are popular with women and weak men, incapable of projecting authority and imposing standards on anyone in their lives. Their cats walk all over them because they let their cats walk all over them, and then they excuse their weakness with nonsense like, "cats can't be trained," or, "cats domesticated humans."

1. take 1.5-2 inch nails, preferably one with large flat heads
2. glue them onto a base with the tip facing upwards using super glue
3.spray paint the entire thing brown
4. grab some hot glue or gel super glue, apply a generous amount to the tip
5. stab a chunk of Woodland Scenics FOLIAGE CLUSTERS onto the nail.
6. base and seal with water/pva

Use the foliage clusters, not clump foliage. foliage clusters are large and dense, clump foliage is tiny and crumbly, a real pain in the ass to work with for this purpose.

The great thing about middle-eastern scenery is that in rural parts it's basically just mud-brick sangars and the odd gaily painted caravanserai from the dark ages to present.

There are differences sure, but some basic block houses are close enough for jazz whatever the era.

Whenever you go to stores, look around for random bullshit that you can just buy and turn into terrain. Electrical switch boxes, birdhouses, pringles cans, pvc pipes, shipping tubes, toy playsets, a container of peanuts that looks vaguely fuel tank shaped, etc. You'd be surprised how many of these items can be turned into nice terrain pieces if you just paint them, texture them and glue random shit on like straws, foam bricks, 3D printed doors and windows, corrugated paper, cardstock shingles, etc.

Anon from >>97227184
First of all, thank you to everyone that replied. Secondly, I’d like to ask for any suggestions for interesting ME terrain I could build. I’m working on houses and a water tower at the moment, and plan on making a Saddam-esque statue as well as a ruined temple, but what else could I make? Specifically I’m looking for something that can fill a gameplay niche. For example, the water tower acts as 360 elevated terrain for a sniper, the temple works as a place for scattered terrain, and the houses act as two story/cqb/hard cover. I want to make an apartment/skyscrapper, but I’d like to things 1930’s or earlier and I’m not sure how common or what styles of those things existed in the region at that period.
>>
>>97263429
You could probably watch some vintage movies and take some screen grabs for ideas.
>>
>>97263429
Minarets are an obvious tallpoint. If you want to see what period exteriors looked like, watch Casablanca, Lawrence of Arabia and movies like that. It seems like a *lot* of it was just whitewashed two-story mud-brick houses though, so.

I made it myself and had to cut the furs to an acceptable length myself. I did this for three 9x5 mats with a razor meant for shaving.

The price was was the price of a 9x5 mat of faux fur and 10 bucks worth of the cheapest craft store paint possible. Oh and it destroyed two $5 dollar shavers I bought at the thrift store.

I'm not the anon that asked, but I'm glad they did because those 6mm trees are legit some of the best I've ever seen. I actually held off on making some because none of the other tutorials I'd seen were as good.

Do you mind also sharing how you did the bases?
>>
>>97286126
Seconding this, would also like a tutorial for the conifers if those used a different method.
>>
Maybe not for wargaming, but I'd really like to get into building out scenes irl with props, but I want it to be extremely flexible as I tend to change environments quite often or have environmental changes during TTRPG.
>>
>>97286126
the bases are EPVC sheet. commonly used in sign making. The upside is they never warp, the downside is they aren't porous and won't accept paint or PVA until you sand them, which is a bitch if you're doing lots of bases. but use whatever bases you want, cardboard, mdf, etc

>>97288673
the conifers were an absolute bitch. the conifers are made from chenille stems and the biggest hurdle is buying Chenille stems that look right. most are smooshed and flattened into triangles, the trick is buying stems that look fluffy and cone shaped, to match the shape of conifers.

I had to buy 6 packs of chenille stems before finding some that looked right. I can't give you a link to these stems because they were on ebay and I bought the last one.

Anyways once you find a suitable pack of stems, you have to cut them in half into the shape of conifers and then hot glue them onto a base. Then I sprayed the entire thing brown and flocked every single tree by taking a shitty brush and brushing diluted PVA onto every single tree.

As I said, these are a massive pain in the ass and I honestly wouldn't recommend doing it unless you're extremely autistic and have spare cash to just throw around on buying random packs of chenille stems until you find a properly shaped one.

You can get huge sacks of these little "Christmas trees" on wooden bases for about a dime each. They take the same paint/glue mix + flock treatment and they're a lot easier to handle than the pipe cleaners. Once they're dry you just cut them off the wooden plugs and jam 'em into your bases.

Here’s some more of mine.
Used in a semifinale for a shadow war campaign- 1 second edition carnifex with mutations vs 5 2000 cred warbands. (I betrayed everyone right away and lured the beast in.

The cannons are either pathfinder minis or nozulrs I don't remember which but they were cheap.

I actually like most of their stuff, but it does get a bit repetitive seeing it in every game.

This month's heroes infinite subscription files is pretty horny but the terrain looks fantastic. Really live the indo/Asian theme and will in the future hopefully get these printed for my own board

It feels like someone asked an AI to make a trench.
I see the parts for a proper trench like the steps near the edge to shoot from it (but can't actually place any models).
Zig zag to prevent shrapnel and explosion from killing everyone, but leaving massive continues corridors so a single guy with a shotgun could kill an entire line of troops.
The potential is there to make it great and also playable, but it is just so off that it manage to pull some kind of trench uncanny valley
>>
>>97301498
I think it works for a game, rather than modeling rl.
The long stretches encourage conflict, rather than spending game turns (a limited thing) moving to position, while also still offering a lot of los breaks to keep a model from toasting everything in sight.
The symmetry doesn't offer advantage to one side, as well, so alternating turns means you aren't doomed if you have models in the open.
It is a game caveat I'm willing to accept, unless you are playing a historical, in which your post would absolutely apply,
Even still, Battle of the Bulge was rife with the exact issue you brought up, so it would still have precedent.

tl;dr it works for a game with a time limit.

Sick board, anon. Keep up the good work.

This qualifies as sick in my book. Tell your gaming buddies that Anon said they should appreciate you more.

These are easy as fuck and useful for most any euro or post Colonial NA gaming.

Pic rel was my low effort Necromunda/industrial terrain attempt. Looks okay and is very easy to fill a table. Just jam pvc pipe together and slap on some paint. Im well aware my shit is nowhere near the level of "sick" terrain, but its better than cardboard L's

Besr thing you can do is just raid your recycling bin. Glue random shit together and paint it until it starts to look like something. You'll learn as you go.

>works for a game with a time limit
Every wargame has a time limit... Not sure why you mention it that.
>symmetry doesn't offer advantage
You are not playing a wargame then.

For those interested, this is bullshit being spread by people that have an axe to grind with Trench Crusade. It started as ‘Trecnh Crusade chuds being edgy’ and has progressed to ‘rape’ with zero media coverage, no statement from NoVa, and no corroborating info within the Sydney gaming scene (which I have been a part of since the mid-90’s).
There are literally no articles, statements or criminal charges relating to this so-called incident, and when you ask for details you will never ever get any.

Yes and No, that model is the iron giant from panzer world Galient by Plamax, a fixed posed plastic kit with the correct asthenic to match the setting. I'm treating it as a 1/56 scale mech though in truth it's actually closer to 1/100 going by its own canon. I do have a canon Wares Blade resin model that's the correct scale that's the same size as the iron giant (2nd from the left). I'm using 90-100mm bases for all the mechs in my campaign.

>>97306195
That's sick as hell. I hope one day to be able to convince my friends to play Wares Blade with me

Still WiP (need ot finish the texture and doors) but here is my 1 level ZM board.
I have 9 tiles of empty 12x12 and 9 tiles of 2 level ZM
With way more in progress too, Once its done should have a mighty mighty underhive board to play Munda and ZM on.

It matters in design.

Certain kinds of Redditors flooded this site without realising that their kind were hated here because Reddit is and always was a dogshit site that encouraged awful communities and non-discussion, they thought it was just because it’s full of liberals. These “people” are basically all failed normalfags who don’t fit in properly anywhere, you see them most on the boards that attract Redditors (this one does because Redditors love 40k and DnD)
Also most of them are brownoids.
>>
>>97314327
I have modular 2d tiles from munda and badzones still for quick throw out tables I can travel with

Then I have tonnes of walls and columns and empty tiles for modular 1 level tiles.

Then have the fixed layout 1 and 2 level tiles.

If you have the space to store it, just mimic the old FW tiles and youll have tonnes of variation still and save 30 minutes pre game setting up for ages and get rid of the mid game hive quakes
>>
>>97303952
It's a typical GW simp MO. The disinfo about T9A was that a bunch of them rolled around NoVa breaking terrain.
