Goblin Slayer is honestly the best TTRPG adaption purely because it's just a basic party going on basic quests every book like it's a group of friends chaining modules. It best captures the spirit of replays without actually being one.

As weak as the story and the majority of the characters are, the female character designs remain top-tier and have aged incredibly well, and though the animation is inconsistent in quality, every so often you can see some real genius shine through.Overall though, the unfortunate reality is that there's actually not as many medieval fantasy anime as one might imagine there should be, and Lodoss OVA rises up by not being a total embarrassment, like something along the lines of Lodoss TV.Not quite the greatest medieval fantasy anime of all time, and you can argue it's overrated, but I wouldn't call it "mid". It's no Berserk or Those Who Hunt Elves, but it's also not [Mediocre Anime Based on a Mobile Game that Died Seven Years Ago] or [Bland Medieval Isekai that Inexplicably Also Involves Giant Robots and Isn't Escaflowne]. And it's far from the genuine shit piles you can step in, with some Isekai series in particular making Lodoss look like it belongs in the Louvre.
