You fuck Ligier, you don't kill him. Or you use the social rules to rape him, something that's 100% allowed. In fact I have it on good authority that people in this very thread have had their characters raped by social rules and were too scared to do anything when it happened. It's very sad.
Communityfag is a cancer on these threads.

I'd suggest you talk about it in other places but I'm pretty sure you've either been banned or would be banned from them for being what you are.>>97198605I'm sorry I interrupted your 10,000 post where you cry about a game you never learned the rules for.
I'm looking for an old homebrew first circle demon and I'm hoping one of you might remember it. I believe it fed on dreams or emotions and often covered itself in fog as it flew through the city. I think it might have been descend from one of Hegra or Oramus's souls.
O Anons, regale me with your tales, campaigns, or encounters with Infernals.
>>97198276Theorycrafting? Also, we’re in the last 24 hours people! No time to lose! What are your favorite stretch goals, BTW?
>>97198880I've used them purely as antagonists, so I don't think that's relevant to you.
>>97198590>You fuck Ligier, you don't kill him.To the chagrin of the devs, yes.The same way you try to make daddy sun happy.
>>97198880I keep seeing people trying the be an infernal crafter in 2e and I don't know why that pops up so much.
>>97198927Romance like that (deep, fulfilling, romantic, dangerous) doesn't really work at a lot of tables. Honestly though I'm sure the devs prefer people trying to fuck the Yozis 3rd circle souls way more then the Yozi themselves.Although Adorjan fucks that all up so who actually knows.
Ligier's purpose is to gracefully concede just before he unleashes his full power, because losing at his full strength would mean that he isn't perfect, peerless and invincible and his pride won't allow that.
You will never be a real Exalt. You have no themes, you have no history, you have no impact. You are a schizophrenic WtA expy twisted by moonsilver tattoos and animal hormones into a crude mockery of divine perfection. All the “validation” you get is two-faced and half-hearted. Behind your back Yu-Shan mock you. Luna is disgusted and ashamed of you, your “Solar Mates” laugh at your Deviantart appearance behind closed doors.Dragonblooded are utterly bored of you. Hundreds of years of failed assassinations have allowed mere mortals to sniff out frauds with incredible efficiency. Even Lunars who “pass” look uncanny and unnatural to a Dynast. Your Tell is a dead giveaway. And even if you manage to kill a drunk Cadet-House Scion, the Wyld Hunt will converge the second they gets a whiff of your stinking animal musk. You will never be relevant. You wrench out a proud roar every single night and tell yourself it’s going to get better, but deep inside you feel the irrelevancy creeping up like a Yazi Clan poisoner, ready to consign you to the blade of Saturn.Eventually it’ll be too much to bear - you’ll go to the middle of nowhere, fuck a few animals, make a few mutant beastfolk, try to conquer something, get wrecked and turned into an antagonist dealt with in a single session. Your Shahan-Ya will find you, heartbroken but relieved that you no longer have to live with the unbearable shame and disappointment. They’ll probably eat you and shit out your entrails like a fucking animal, and Lytek will make another note that a Lunar succumbed to their own ineptitude. Your Exaltation will go to another unfortunate Infernal-reject, and all that will remain of your legacy is a Territory that is unmistakably lead by Mortals. This is your fate. This is what Luna chose. There is no turning back.

It actually fits the "Villain with unlimited resources who shows up with a new plot" archetype pretty well even if he'd be fucked if the circle ever loses the tiny territory around a wyld zone we managed to carve out

Should have had this in my post above but whatever.>An in-depth look at the forbidden pacts and unholy power of warlocks, including the temptation of new Eclipse Charms will be added to the Infernals Companion supplement. We got our face of the titans boys. Now let's just pray that they tell us how to romance one of these fuckers. I'm thinking either Malfeas or Adorjan.
>>97199859>I've read through the Cult of the Illuminated. Was it that bad for Lunars?
>>97199868Anon Illuminated Lunars literally could not oppose their assigned Solar. They had to sit there and take anything and accrue two points of Limit. They were also Casteless and had fewer Charms, in an edition where getting your spirit shape was not an automatic part of the Second Breath, but a Charm that you had to buy out of your allotment of only six if you were Casteless (Lunars with castes got that for free, plus eight more). They didn't even get extra Ability dots from being in the Illuminated training camps; they just got to eat the worst part of every chargen option.
>>97199910Talking about this, I wonder what happened to make Grabowski hate WtA so much.He even did the "fuck this wolf or Gaia will die" joke.
>>97199910I like the CoI, but it's better to just give bonuses rather than penalties. Like they get buffs for being in the Cool Solar Club
>>97200095A solution is to them restore the old castes, since the penalties are because the Lunars weren't properly introduced to the Silver Pact tribe

>>97200263...For some reason when I expanded the image my brain interpreted it as "Werewolves, Crowned by Hellfire" and I was very confused for a moment
>>97200176There's no real indication that the Sidereals could have done that, especially not back in 1e. They could have given them some extra Ability dots (1e loved this), but they didn't even do that. 1e seemed to have presented the Lunar condition as wholly unknown to Sidereals in spite of the two having spent millennia together during the First Age and during the initial war against the Primordials. And Solars? They were mostly presented as clueless about it, too, even in the Twilight book. While there's some odd teaser about the prospect of the Twilights maybe being able to restore the castes, at the end of the day, the Lunars fundamentally changed their Exaltations in 1e (GCG actually flat out said this in one of his rants, I believe the one that included the term "rar!"), and we'll never know if anyone writing canon ever intended this to be a possibility. The only thing we do know is that Cult Lunars go it raw and sideways.>>97199981He was fairly tight-lipped about most everything, so it's still anyone's guess.
How do you guys like to portray the Unconquered Sun, personality-wise? I know he's not really a relevant character for a vast, vast majority of games. I've just been idly thinking about the best way to handle him lately. I dislike the Glories: Sun version of him and really hate the story about him surrendering himself to Primordials to save a single mortal's life, but I think there's enough talk of righteousness in relation him since the very beginning that he shouldn't just be a sleazy opportunist, either. I've been thinking about a framework of righteousness that's consistent with him rebelling for personal gain and being cool with Dragon King heart sacrifices, and I'd welcome ideas and discussion about this. A couple of different ideas I've had: Sun's basic worldview might actually be pretty close to the Immaculate Philosophy, obviously not in terms of Dragon-Blooded supremacy but in terms of it being correct for each and everyone to stick to their place, not reach above it and focus on doing their job to the absolute best of their capacity. It is right to give king fealty and tribute, and it is right for the king to enjoy the privileges of his position, but the king, too, should strive to do his job of protecting and maintaining what is his. Feeling that Primordials did not act in a manner worthy of their position could've been a part of what prompted him to rebel. On the other hand, I like the idea of some kind of a bold, ambitious, excellence-based morality, where righteousness is striving to reach as high as you can and inspiring others to do the same, where settling for less is worthy of disdain, and where preventing others from pursuing greatness or convincing them to abandon such pursuit is the heart of wickedness. In that framework, I'd see the UCS as a genuinely loving father-like figure who wants everyone to be all they can be, but stern and demanding, intensely disappointed when people fall short of their maximum potential.
>>97200635>1e seemed to have presented the Lunar condition as wholly unknown to Sidereals in spite of the two having spent millennia together during the First Age and during the initial war against the Primordials.I have to wonder if there could be any reason for that. There are definitely unshaped raksha who could erase or blunt memories of someone who walked into them. The Sucking Tide drinks names, and the Winding Path eats the memory of your origin, destination, and name, as examples. The latter might have made everybody forget that the Lunars who walked it came from Creation? Seems like the kind of curse that could both exist and do the job.
>>97200860The concept of unshaped raksha didn't exist until Sidereals had already been written, and it probably wouldn't have been retconned in very well, given the history of retcons toward the end of 1e. Also, having everyone forget about Lunars would have been a repeat of Arcane Fate, and you know that would never fly if it infringed on Sidereals enjoying time as The Special.
>>97198276>Infernal Theorycrafting EditionDoes an Infernal's artifact armour adjust to fit their new form when they activate their Devil-body, or do they need Moonsilver armour or a specific Evocation to let them do so? For instance, if they were wearing a suit of Gunzosha Armour when they Exalted and it also went through the Chrysalis Grotesque with them, should it also change alongside them when their Devil-Body activates?
>>97200738I don't think the first one is a good fit. Even a goody two-shoes US could be fine with the heart sacrifices depending on how it's done since he still wouldn't have modern morality or its frameworks. Like, if he's cool with capital punishment, sacrificing criminals is fine. Captured warriors too depending on why the war was being fought. Offering up yourself for sacrifice and honor duels involve consenting individuals. Just don't sacrifice the powerless and innocent.
>>97198890I like the 175K one, yozi info, although maybe that should have been in the 500 page book from the beginning
>>97199213Like 13 years, that game is the first storypath
>>97201056>I don't think the first one is a good fit. Fair enough, but what part of it seems like a bad fit? I'm not married to that idea, but a strictly hierarchical wordview based on reciprocal but unequal relationships seems to me decently fitting for the King of Heaven.

>>97201096>Had to do a second reread but im surprised that the Infernals draft barely talks about the Unwoven CoadjutorsApparently the Coadjutor is now mostly just a fluff thing unless you take a charm to gain any mechanical benefits, but it starts a tree that ends with you turning your Coadjutor into a fucking feitch/first 3rd Circle soul at Essence 3>Even if they're written by 3e devs I want a bunch of 1st Circle demonsSame, if I could've gotten my dream book for 2e it would've been "Roll of Glorious Divinity 3: Oops, all First Circles"
>>97200360>Also I will consider it if I can fuck not-UCS.We already passed that benchmark, though I have my doubts they'll include Rule63!UCS: Sexually Aggressive Loli edition in it, but it'd be hilarious if they did
>>97201121Eh, it's not necessarily hypocritical to rise by the grace of the king, and surely the role of an Exalt's not the same as that of a mortal. But sure, it's true that he does Exalt people who do struggle to rise above their position in life. Maybe the excellence-based worldview would be a better fit.
>>97201124>Apparently the Coadjutor is now mostly just a fluff thing unless you take a charm to gain any mechanical benefitsSo same as always, then?
>>97201154Except for that "is a third circle soul" thing, sure.
>>97201154Pretty much, yeah, except instead of being a merit it's now a charm that grants you one benefit of the 2e background a scene, with an upgrade that turns it into a once a day roll of Essence+Willpower for your successes motes, another that turns it into your fetich soul (unbreakable defining principle, grants you all benefits of the Coadjutor charm permanently, and makes the 1/day roll for more motes free), another that lets you spawn up to 7 2CDs for said fetich, and finally one that lets you externalize your fetich with keys that allow you to make more 3CDs for your soul pantheonThem and the Inner-world charms are pretty much "Be a Devil-tiger" charms sans the "Your own personal Excellency" at Essence 3
>>97201188While I dislike a lot of it, I do find it mildly amusing that "INFINITE DEMONS OF MYSELF, NO OTHER CHARMS" looks to be a viable build for 3e Infernals
Not really about Infernals, but can I just say that I really hate it when 3e gives nonsensical resistance rolls to defeat supernatural effects?I'm going to point at Supernal Awareness for this. You're observing the webs of fate around you, automatically detecting everybody participating in a particular activity of your choice... unless they are concealing the activity or their involvement in it? How in the actual fuck are they concealing their fate? Don't say 'oh but Secrets are all about hiding things and the comingling of fate and reality means hiding things in reality also hides them from fate' or similar ass excuses when this is an Endings charm. Like what does this even mean? You can automatically detect anybody performing the activity unless they're concealed from you... such as, I don't know, being behind a wall? Does the charm actually do nothing except let you recognize when people are doing something within plain sight? Seems silly to me.
>>97201284It sounds pretty straight-forward to me. You pick an activity, like farming. You automatically detect everyone who is farming within range except the people who are trying to hide the fact they are farming, like someone with a secret garden of illegal narcotic flowers.
>>97201366>except the people who are trying to hide the fact they are farming, like someone with a secret garden of illegal narcotic flowers.Okay, now why aren't you detecting them? Them wanting the secret garden to be secret doesn't actually do anything to interact with the webs of fate that you're looking at, after all. Them building a wall around their garden to hide it from people, or killing everyone in the village to keep the secret for that matter, why does that interfere with your ability to read the patterns of fate? It can't, like, make a hole in the web, or you'd just see a hole in the web and bish bosh you've found the activity you were looking for. And in the latter example above, what are you even rolling Perception + Awareness against? Melee, if that's what they used to kill all the villagers? I understand the mechanics just fine, outside edge cases. I'm saying that I hate that they're nonsense.
>>97201397Because they're hiding the garden and that interferes with fate. They don't need to use magic to interfere with fate; the fact they're trying to hide it is sufficient. It's a Sidereal charm, it's supposed to be a bit weird and sideways. As for what they'd roll to hide it, probably Attribute + Larceny, since that's generally the Ability used for criminal activities.
>>97201397I'd be fine with attempts at hiding something working against the Charm as long as there's Essence-use involved. Maybe without an opposed roll, even, but with the Sidereal being aware that there's something supernatural interfering with his awareness - that'd still provide valuable, actionable information. I agree that mundane attempts at secrecy shouldn't do anything, though.
>>97201561The wording of the charm does not require magic use to force the Sidereal to roll to detect it.Otherwise the Sidereal could choose "hiding" at the activity they're looking for and completely trivialise attempts at defeating stealth or criminal activity.
"Crowned by Hellfire" is a bit of a mouthful.
>>97201601Yes, I know. I didn't say the Charm requires that. I said, explicitly, how I'd like it to work.
>>97199750yeah the really gay game where 99 percent of all the gay homos who play it disavow 1e and 2e
>>97201670Nah that's just fake news. Exalted is the gayest thing ever, a game that makes people question your sexuality just by playing it, but a bunch of them like 1e/2e. A bunch of them were even playing when those were the only editions. While times change Exalted being the gayest thing ever remains the same. Along with Lunars being the furry splat. In fact in the exalted discord there are rules asking you to not complain about the older editions too much because of how many fags actually love the older editions. It was making them feel bad so they put a bit of a stop to it.
>>97201687I can't tell if you're just baiting or not. Literally never been at a table with a gay or trans player or character
>>97200738I really prefer having the Sun be past his prime, not in terms of abilities or capabilities per se, but motivation. He WAS a Silver Age Superman at some point, who lived righteously, was a do-gooder but wasn't above stomping evil doers and giving the lash. What injustices he might have ended up inflicting were taken in the best faith possible for all but the most strong willed of beings. And then after the Primordial War, after the rise and fall of the Solars, he slowly but surely lost his flame for it. He's realized that the passionate Perfection he embodied was flawed and overbearing and that his nature flows from that. The optimism that defines him now doesn't have its lustre, and while he wants to improve he feels it deep in his gut that there's no way out other than not participating. He knows that there's way too much fucked up shit in the world and knows for sure that he'll never grasp the answer to it.It'll be notable events that pull him from his stupor temporarily, and the nigga really does try with every single Zenith, but he's the most human of the Incarna now.Luna and the Maidens are all fairly inhuman, but revel in their natures. Unconquered Sun has tried to reflect on his nature, and it's bothersome, so avoids it to be at peace. The Sun goes through the motions of being his glorious self and ultimately prefers lounging now. The guilt he feels is outweighed by the contentment that he doesn't have to figure the world out for everyone.
>Ligier had a boyfriendI just don't believe it, he's the most hetero coded guy around. Sure he's likely had imported boy concubines that look like girls that take his Brass Tower up the arse, but that's different...
>>97201719That's a whole lot of words. I have him be basically a good guy, but in my version of the setting, I have the Incarna have left both Heaven and Creation. The Sun did not want to impose himself on the newly liberated world, and he put himself in a self imposed exile beyond the firmament of the stars (the others joined him). The rest of it pretty much plays out as normal, but I basically don't need to explain why he doesn't intervene in anything because he literally cannot.
>>97201718Gayanon's been going at it for a few threads now, persistently enough that I think it's safe to conclude he's trolling. >>97201719That sounds alright, too - UCS having ever been Silver Age Superman isn't my preference, but I think I get its appeal to other people. It's definitely a sympathetic take on him. As a somewhat similar, but maybe not really, idea I think the UCS could work as someone who was sort of broken by the Primordial War itself. Rebellion was obviously a grand betrayal, and also in a sense a failure of the Sun in his role as the first among the Primordials' servants. Rejecting the role he was created for and abandoning the duties and loyalties that once defined him leaving him aimless, maybe not particularly guilt-ridden or anything like that but wondering "What comes next? Who am I now?" without finding an answer, or at least without having found an answer so far, might be cool.
>>97201747I explain his non-intervention as just him not wanting to intervene. No matter whether he is virtuous or non-virtuous, in my view he's toiled long enough for Creation and will toil no more. It's other people's responsibility now.
I enjoy the idea that the UCS is just retired. He's done his job, he's worked for way too many years. The Solars were already meant to take over part of the job and they failed him so he's just burnt the fuck out. He's also sort of an asshole. He's turned his face back to Creation but he doesn't want to stay around, he's just an old guy entering the job site again. Maybe he has something to be proud of again, that sort of thing. Also it seems to deeply bother people to fund out that people question their sexuality when they play Exalted. This isn't a choice thing, people just think you're a fag if you play this game. It's always a big surprise to find out that they're an incel with how faggy this game line is.
>>97201766That's roughly how I see it too. He does want to proud of his Exalted children which is why he's turned his face back. He wants to be proud of them, even if he's done doing what he was made to do. He's also addicted to the Games of Divinity which does not help anything. He's complicated with an immortally young and all powerful body but also -really- old. And just super bummed that the Solars let him down so badly.
>>97201766I can see that but to me it's just not as cool. I like the idea that he had the opportunity to become the king of heaven, to rule over it like his former masters, but instead chose to let the world that won its freedom truly be free. Not only was it free of the Titans, but it was also free of his own rulership. Sure, he would continue to speak to his chosen but they are the will that shapes the future and the ones that enjoy the fruit of victory.
>>97201800He did become King of Heaven, though, just not also King of Creation. He does rule Yu-Shan, like his former masters once did. I think it's fine if he did want Creation to be free, but I don't think that's mutually exclusive with him also wanting to be free from that burden. He can be a bit selfish, even in the more virtuous takes - wanting for everyone to have self-determination and a shot at happiness, including himself.
>>97200860>I have to wonder if there could be any reason for thatMy theory is that Lunars were possible the last splat written; created after most of the setting was set in stone, and only really existing to bait Apocalypse players into playing this game.Because of this they are so weird in 1e's world building.
>>97201822Like I said I changed that and have him go somewhere else. It does a few important things for me. First of all it removes him and the others as a potential resource that players could ever use. He's just gone and there's nothing you can do to get any help from him, even if he wanted to. Second, it fully hands off all power from distant super mighty beings into things that are more on the scale that players deal with. Another thing it does for me is it neatly sets up Solars assuming control of heaven if they want to; no potential conflicts of interest beyond the more approachable characters mentioned above. It also, personally, just makes him sound a lot more cool because it makes it clear that he was in no way in it for himself. I like that sort of thing and I think if there's going to be a character like that in the setting, it should be him.
>>97201507>the fact they're trying to hide it is sufficient. If that was true they would not need to make a roll. How the hell are you supposed to stunt hiding something from fate when you don't even know what the fuck is happening and can't interact with the medium?
>>97201747>I remove them from the settingNo balls.
>>97201860Most games never even try to make any contact with them, and it does a lot of things for me and my interpretation of the setting.
>>97201865Yeah it's called not having hair on your chest.
>>97201866You really should have formulated that better, it kind of just sounds like a non sequitur.
>how do you represent this character>they returned to their home planet :]based
>>97201869You didn't read it right ESL-kun
>>97201871It technically is a representation of the character
>>97201844Fair enough. I prefer a different take on him, but I understand the appeal of a selfless god. As far as I'm concerned, the main thing about the Sun is that if he's a potential character in a game, he should be written so that there can be a game with him present. That is, he shouldn't have a combination of power, virtue and motivation that could make him a solution to all the setting's problems. Just not having him be a potential character at all sort of approaches the same problem from a different angle than having a less perfect UCS.
>>97201860It's not that bad. I like my UCS being a bit more human and a bit more of an asshole though.
>>97201879Yeah, it's a non answer but ultimately most people are not going to encounter Unconquered Sun outside of an Exalted vision. In fairness though, I feel like people overstate how distant the about the guy's personality is. Sidereal games that have playtime in Heaven are likely going to interact with people who have concrete anecdotes about the Unconquered Sun. Not every game is a Solar going around whorehouses in Not-Nexus after all.
>>97201882Oh I still have him be a character, but you can only interact with him through visions and his principles about the self-determination of creation/heaven means that he will tend to not give solutions to problems as much as try to help you find your own strength.
no one here has ever shared a story about punching a yozi, doing a Third Circle working or seducing an incarnait's all just "potential-man" dialogue about stuff they could do if they were ever in a game where that shit happened.
>>97201898yeah it's blatant nogame babble
>>97201898I wanted to talk about my games, but I was told being Exalt focused was boring
>>97201898So? I tend to run relatively grounded games of Exalted, grounded in the sense that they tend to be more about the fate of some Threshold nation than the fate of Creation, more about seeking for some First Age ruin than questing to mess with the shinma, and more about having kung fu fights with other Exalted than about having them with Yozis. I don't have any need to talk about that stuff with strangers on the Internet, though, specifically because it happens in my actual games, I can enjoy it in actual games, and if I want to talk about ir, I can talk about it with my players, people who were there and know the context. There's a lot about the setting that I find cool and interesting but will probably never use in a game, though, and these things I may as well enjoy by talking about them with those strangers on the Internet.
>>97201936>I like talking about nogame babble in /exg/fuck off
>>97201953I do, yes, and I'm not going to fuck off. I get complaining when people go completely off-topic, I get complaining when people blatantly troll, but it's the behavior of an entitled little shit to bitch about people talking about parts of Exalted they find interesting but you don't. If you want to talk about something else, go ahead, but don't try to police the thread.
>>97201936traditional GAMES, you worthless troglodyte
>>97201898Running high power level stuff is just sort of annoying. A lot of npcs with big charmsets to keep track of, a lot of interactions, a lot of charms that can just change entire stories. Narrative wise it's cool, and thematically it makes sense, but mechanically the game doesn't fucking know how to do this in a non laborious mannert. runs a game where an entire Legion + Sidereal allies quested against the Ebon Dragon to retrieve Mnemon
>>97201898>no one here has ever shared a story aboutI've certainly never run a game 'about' any of those things. I've run a game with a third circle working.
>>97201970Game's called Exalted, and the Incarnae, Yozis, shinma and all that are a part of it. This thread is called Exalted General, and it's for general Exalted discussion, not for Exalted discussion limited subjects you, personally, approve of.
I've worked out why nobody's made martial arts for anything other than combat, despite them clearly being possible:The possibility is forbidden knowledge kept secret by Jupiter, because if they knew that, the Sidereals would only be a step away from working out that their 'native' charmsets are just martial art styles the Maidens handed down to cover up their actual powerset being sealed. It's all a psyop.
>>97201978>>97201969You're allowed to post, and we're allowed to call you a nogame babbler who shits up the thread with your nogame hypotheticals. Hope this clears things up for you
Never change, /exg/
>>97201986No one besides some really autistic anon and maybe his butt buddy is calling anyone a no game babbler. People like to talk about Exalted, so they talk about Exalted. Personally more talk on how to handle people romancing yozi or demons would be nice because I see it pop up a lot and everyone seems to like that sort of RP in game.
>>97201986You're free to shitpost, sure. Not much I can do about it. You're also free to apply to become a janny next time applications are being accepted, as it seems to be a position you crave. In addition, you're free to start a discussion about something you'd find more interesting at literally any tine.
>>97198880I ran a full infernal game. It was a rather long game that switched between an age of sorrows infernal group running yozi errands (mostly coercing various gods to do some "favours" via blackmail and whatnot) and slowly remembering their first age lives and their mentioned first age flashbacks (basically a desparate and ultimately doomed ploy to fight off usurpation and achieve true immortality). At some point they remembered enough to know nothing good is coming their way if they continue serving as yozi bitches especially with Ebon Dragon taking more and more interest in them so they decided to betray their masters and go full ronin. At this point I started dropping some devil-tiger stuff at them. Eventually they were going increasingly crazy due to primordial essence, developed their own proto world-bodies, birthed some souls of their own and made a pact with Szoreny that allowed him to bleed his world-body into the underword making him everyones problem but also taking some heat off of themselves. Good times.
>samefags on cooldownnogame melty
>>97202004this level of projection is actually insane.
I like Exalted.
>>97202025Same. I don't know if I like 1e because I've never played it but 2e and 3e are pretty fun.
>>97201996I've never seen direct interactions with Yozis, but when my players have interacted with demons - they haven't romanced them, though - I've mostly just tried to keep in mind that demons are people, weird and often dangerous people, but still people with their own individual wants and fears and principles. I don't know how much can be said about demons in general, in other words, as they are individuals and different from each other.
>>97202025Me too. It's a cool game for all its flaws, and I've not found anything else that scratches quite the same itch.
>planned to pitch some shekels>saw the 5 OC DONUT STEEL Nu-Infernal iconics
>>97202175They look more like background characters. But talking about them, it is funny how long it took for a mutant iconic.
>>97202175Oh, because the original Infernal iconics weren't cringe, right?
>>97202288They were pretty based. You're now allowed to make a long post saying how you hate them and prefer dripless mystery meat drawn by underpaid Filipinos now.
>>97202288You know, at the time I wasn't thrilled about them. But fuck, they're miles better than the new Iconics. I'd take a thousand bondage nuns over the Fortnite reject squad who I vaguely remember hating each other and nothing else in the chapter fiction.
>>97202003Based. Although I am mildly surprised Szoreny would be that enthused about going into the Underworld, considering 2e made out the Yozis to be alarmed by it's emergence.
>>97200738I like to go with the 1e Sun being closer to how he was before the Primordial War, and the 2e Sun being what he became during the First Age from pride at his Chosen spreading across Creation. As in he used to be the kind of self-righteous, sacrifice-demanding, exacting zealot that the Dragon-Kings revered. And then becoming a father figure to a whole Exalt type mellowed him out into Hindu Optimus Prime (specifically the Bayformers version where he can and will put down an enemy to Creation without mercy if angered enough by the blood of the innocent)
>>97198590>rape him, something that's 100% allowedUno Reverse Red Rule
>>97198590Just don't try to rape Ipithymia. >Went after MULTIPLE First Age Solars at the height of their power, left them used and abused, and continues looking for more in the Age of SorrowsGenuinely the most impressive durability feat in all of Exalted. Bitch has to have Cain's "You fucking lose" statblock, but for rape.
I know 3e has made "Lunar who doesn't Shapeshift/DBT" as a specific niche, but what sauce do they get in combat other than combining Martial Arts?
>>97202370none
>>97202288>>97202305I've always loved the crab mummy, I know nothing about him, but his design was coolThe bondage nun I remember solely for being a bondage nun and wondering why the fuck there are nuns in CreationI don't recall what the other three even look like despite Infernals being my favorite 2e splat
>>97202390>barbarian with big axe>spider vampire pirate>ninja
>>97202305>I'd take a thousand bondage nuns over the Fortnite reject squad who I vaguely remember hating each other and nothing else in the chapter fiction.Fortnite's art direction is closer to 2e's.>>97202390According to her lore, it is based on a first age sun priestess outfit.
>>97202390the nun thing is interesting because I guarantee you if she was an abyssal no one would have had an issue
>>97201128They already mention Ipithymia at all, and she's always been a shapeshifter; she can be busty onee-san or a voluptuous milf if she feels like it. Even if they don't explicitly mention it, the loli body was always a choice.
>>97202419>According to her lore, it is based on a first age sun priestess outfit. That feels quite stupid, I can't quite put my finger on why though>>97202447....Now that you mention it, I wouldn't yeah, but that's partially because I have a long running theory that the Neverborn were westaboos and their deaths removed a bunch of the more western fantasy style elements from the setting
>>97202466One of Swillin's broken spheres was Christianity
>>97202337You can't rape the willing>verification no required
>>97202466>That feels quite stupid, I can't quite put my finger on why thoughThe first age was more mesoamerican, and the Roman influences in the setting aren't strong enough for vestal virgins.
>>97202370You'd be better off asking the fan Discord since they're better at analyzing what works in 3e than this thread. From what I can remember, they've got great grappling charms in Strength, their Stamina charms are very good, and Dexterity is accurate and benefits quite a bit from the Charm that lets you treat your Initiative as 5 points higher for determining when you go.
>>97202469Amusing, but I think that would delete Theion/Malfeas if that was the case>>97202477Probably why, yeah, no part of the setting FEELS like it has the cultural reasoning that led to nuns specifically, baring the Underworld/Neverborn's tendency to lean slightly towards western aspects to a degree
>>97202469I'm actually like 90% convinced that at least one person writing for 2E was big on Christianity and pushed for a Christ-analogue UCS. I doubt that was the reason for Sulumor's fetish nun gear, though.
>>97202541It is actually from 1e, Panther exaltation was based on Moses fire bush.Conky's "old testament god" aspect was split off and given to Malfeas/Theion.
>>97202466>....Now that you mention it, I wouldn't yeah, but that's partially because I have a long running theory that the Neverborn were westaboos and their deaths removed a bunch of the more western fantasy style elements from the settingIt is funny considering madukt Mesopotamian fan charmset.
>>97202608That's not really what I'm talking about. The Bible works as inspiration for Exalted just as well as other ancient mythologies do, but drawing inspiration from there is pretty different from making the Unconquered Sun a shiny sun Jesus.
>>97203025I know, I was commenting about the evolution.Theion, Abyssals and Infernals white washed Conky and the Solars, because of this they ended up as "Jesus and his paladins"
>>97198276There's an hour left! Do you think that we can get the final installment of extra Charms? Because I know that we all want more Charms!
>>97203125Unless it's alternate trees that restore Infernal's theme based charm trees I think I'm good
>>97203125More Charms is kind of the last thing I want. I think that 3E Infernals Charms are genuinely pretty good, but it's still 3E, it's still yoked to the mistakes of the core, and having a whole lot of fairly small and fiddly Charms is still a problem. No more, please! If the last stretch goal was more 1CDs instead, I might be interested.
>>97198276I hope they release some Infernals-focused fiction soon!
>>97202608First time I hear of this. As far as I know he was meant to be Lucifer back in 1e, with the difference that he won.
>>97203434It is more noticeable in the existence of the Zenith caste, but 1e Solars had powers themed after biblical heroes.>Conky as Lucifer. They even got the moniker wrong (daystar vs morning star).
>>97202390The most interesting thing about the bondage nun is Strength of Many is implied to be her Lunar mate.>>97203082While Holden may have complained about this turn, his version of 3e/demake Infernals just makes it worse. By explicitly making them like the return of the First Age Solars, they're the ones who inherit most of the narrative baggage.
>>97204373It's just 2e in the opposite direction. They went from the villains whose plan had the best odds of royally fucking up Creation even if they failed to the people with the most legitimate grievances against the Sidereals who were alive during the Usurpation.
>>97204373Stronger than solars or what in demake ?
Bondage Nun gets away with it because you get her deal just by looking at her. I just wish she had sexy blasphemous outfits for something that was actually in the setting. She's literally the only nun looking person out there. At least we remember her, the same with the mummy. That's important, probably the most important.
