Is it standard practice to let combat vehicles with cargo space change the cargo to an infantry bay of equal weight?

One day when I was a child, my mom arbitrarily decided that I was too old to be playing with action figures. She rounded up all the toys and made me sell them at a garage sale. Because I had so many though, some managed to escape her sweep.
Yesterday I was visiting my brother for our family's Christmas get together and his wife tells me that they stumbled across a bin of old toys. I was shown the bin and recognized them all. The survivors from childhood that escaped the purge. This picture is of a few of those toys, 2 of which are relevant to here. Battletech survived the purge.

The stupid thing is they lived over 50 years as the Fidelis and not as clanners. Their culture was dead, and Paul Moon being alive instead of that new kid taking over like at the end of Surrender Your Dreams was a severe unwarranted retcon. Funny thing, though. Pardoe of all people pushed that before he got sacked. We can actually lay the blame squarely on him for both the Fidelis and the Jag comback as 2 completely separate events over a decade apart.

What priority level is the Amphigean light assault group? I thought they were like chain gangs v2 non-samurai warriors and subsequently low on the totem pole but from my reading they're at least somewhat respected

IIRC they're technically mercs (they started out as the security force for the Amphigean Agriculture corporation) but on permanent contract to the DCMS, so they might be buying a lot of their own equipment instead of getting it from the DCMS quartermaster.
