What gamebooks, rulesets, and projects would you be posting if pdfs weren't still disabled?
i just wanted to post a set of pre-made OSE-compatible characters to the /osrg/ thread, then remembered PDFs were gone now.how hard can it be to fix the exploit? you can put all sorts of weird and wacky shit in PDFs, surely there are open source tools to detect them?
>>97226456The problem wasn't with stuff inside the pdfs, it was the fact that the site generates a preview image (as that's the only time it compiles the file's code). They could literally bring them back by simply... not doing that. Just using a placeholder thumb.>inb4 so why haven't theyThe implications are not heartening
>>97226514It’s because Rapeape is too busy posting about culture war shit on twitter (while being paid 5k a month) to actually hire someone to patch up this website. The hack revealed that the code for this place has barely changed since moot sold it in the 2015. PDFs are not coming back because rapeape doesn’t care. Instead he implements babies first IQ-tests for the new captcha that has already been broken by auto solve anyway. PDFs are not coming back, rapeape must be replaced as the head mod of this site if shit is ever gonna improve but he won’t and any attempt at calling him out always results in mods nuking the thread eventually. Sad really, he’s an incredibly lazy man.
>>97226449I glad they disabled pdfs. They are a security nightmare and never should have been allowed.
