Sounds way too abstract. Depends on a CYOA's main focus.
I want to raise skeletons and give them weapons made of bone. It means I want a "necromancy" power of some sort. If the CYOA is not overly detailed it will have "fire magic - nature magic - necromancy" as selectable "powers" and then I'll just have improv from there. If the CYOA is detailed, like that one necromancy CYOA where you have to learn to manipulate the souls somehow, and it had dedicated ways to 1. morph tissue into something 2. put soul in a corpse as a container 3. allow a soul in the container to manipulate the corpse 4. control the soul etc., then of course it's a necromancy-focused CYOA and it should have more selections to add to the general one. Which is more interesting is up to the reader but I like autistic stuff like power tech trees and such.
