Which army is the most entertaining to paint? I have never painted a model before and would like to give it a try, and if I enjoy it, I would like to build an army. I think lot of different models and poses would be nice, so ideally nothing to monotone and uniform. Strength of army isn't important, but I would like the army to be a bit cute and creepy.

>>97246399So everyone has different things that the prefer to paint so everyone is going to have a different answer. Some people like lots of open space and enjoy spending their time filling that space with painted gradients, or freehand, or weathering or whatever. Other people like having tonnes of little details to pick out. Some people really enjoy painting metallics, other people really enjoy painting skin or fabric. It takes a few models to really find the style of miniatures you find fun, so I think it's a good idea to try as many different things as possible. Nids, marines and necrons are both really good armies for beginners and fairly different from one another. Necrons gives you lots of metals, nids gives you lots of organic stuff, and marines give you lots of space with a single colour. You can make any army creepy, but cute is pretty subjective. A good way to try a couple things is go into your local gw and sign up for the free paint lesson for the free demo marine, and pickup whatever the free model of the month is
