In all seriousness, how can you get yourself to enjoy playing games when /tg/ players are so insufferable, socially and aesthetically in real life
>try to play 40k
>it's all actual obese autists with animes T shirts and don't understand the concept of an inside voice
>try to play RPGs
>It's fat 40 year olds with goatee or ungroomed beard and shaved head, marvel T shirt and jorts and wearing those weird flat Irish hats
>visit LGS on card gaming night
>take one whiff and immediately turn around and leave

It's actually distressing because I want to actually get to play in the hobby I love so much, but it doesn't seem to be possible if you can't find normal people to play with
Solution?

We don't talk about games here.
We talk about:
>animals & nature
>anime/manga
>business & finance
>comics/cartoons
>cute males
>DIY
>ecchi
>fashion
>food & cooking
>handsome men
>history
>LGBT representation
>literature
>mecha
>politics (left wing only, though, you chud)
>ponies (yes, THOSE ponies)
>technology (without any fantastical applications)
>television & film
>the paranormal (without any fantastical applications)
>toys
>weapons (without any fantastical applications)

So, everything except games and anything involving physical activity.

>have friends
>play with them
If you struggle with that then bad news: you're one of the insufferable weirdos you're complaining about.
>>
>>97250075
Make friends and suggest to them trying /tg/ hobbies. That's the best I have to offer. I've met plenty of normal people with, you know, good personal hygiene and jobs and families and all that through RPGs, but I think I might've had an unusual amount of luck here. So, just make friends first and then see if they'd like to give RPGs or tabletop games or card games a try.

I have friends, I don't mention that I enjoy /tg/ stuff due to it's association with the people described in the OP
>>
>>97250183
If you want to play with normal, well-adjusted people, you're going to have to tell some normal, well-adjusted people about your hobbies at some point. That's just basic logic, anon. If you can't even do that with your friends, who could you do it with?
>>
>>97250183
So you do struggle with that simple two step process. Therefore you are an insufferable werido. You're also a stupid faggot because you couldn't understand that's what I already told you and tried to argue your way out of it.
>>
>>97250075
I only play games with friends, and I'm only friends with people with whom I share other interests. The system works perfectly.
>>
>>97250131
Never understood this logic, like I have friends none if them like tabletop though.
>>
>>97250075
being black AND that fat must make for a helluva musk
>>
>>97250075
Feel free to leave the hobby if you don't fit in. You won't be missed.

The issue for me is that the average fa/tg/uy is extremely thin skinned.
Either you MUST do what they envisioned if they're the GM or you MUST let them do whatever the fuck they want if they're the player.
It also gets bad when the GM basically acts like a janitor thinking they got any power, like we're not all just playing a social game together but rather they are the leader of the group.

The worse though getting hung up on shit, like you say or do something that upsets them and they will seethe their entire life, literally just thinking about what you did until they can get back at you.
It's just so unpleasant, I'm sorry but the majority of you retards are simply the absolute worst, I had way better luck picking players and games randomly online than focusing on this board.

Should have found your groups within friends you made in high school and college and clung to them for dear life.

normal people dont play tabletop. i once tried to scratch the itch by running a pathfinder campaign with my normie wife and some of our mutual friends and it just doesnt work because normal people ultimately ending up thinking that sort of stuff is gay and are only willing humor it for a short period. youre gonna have to put up with the weirdos either in person or on discord or something. every retard larping as a normal person in this thread almost certainly looks like the people in your pic, i wouldnt take advice from them

Then you're the weird one. Usually you share interest with your friends, and if tabletop games aren't one of them is because you're the weirdo in your friend group.

That is tautologically true if you define normal people as people who don't like RPGs. Employed, socially functional people with families and hobbies aside from /tg/ do play games, though.
>>
>>97250800
the lives of adults dont typically revolve around hobbies actually, especially ones intended for children
>>
>>97250075
You're assuming anyone would even want to associate with such a judgmental cunt. I've known a dozen Too Good 4 U types like yourself over the years and you always have excuses for why you "choose" not to associate with supposedly lesser people, but every single time the reality is you're all just twats that nobody wants to be around so you craft this narrative of you as a "normal person"(who in reality want nothing to do with you) who rejects the scene out of choice to preserve your sad little ego. I suppose my ego would be in the shitter as well if I was such a social reject that even the other people society brands as social rejects told me to do one.
>>

I only play with my friends.

Sounds like you've got too much baggage to engage with your friends about things you like in a friendly manner.

I am amazed that our DM has
>a wife
>two children
>is a military doctor that gets sent from barracks to barracks
>Still somehow manages to prepare a weekly session most weeks, for a fucking sandbox game with tons of npcs, places, enemies including homebrew ones, etc. All with their own notes and images and shit. And maps, tons of maps
I seriously respect the dude.
Another player, one of 3 that always show up, also has has a wife and a kid, for the record.

Sounds like a guy who likes his games enough to spend the time he spends driving from barrack to barrack or doing chores at home also thinking about the next session. My main game's also got a GM with a wife, two kids and a pretty busy job - probably not as busy as your GM, though - and out of the four players all are employed and one's also married and has children. I'm not married myself, for the record, but I am employed and have had a pretty busy year and a half at work. The current GM's view on successfully running a game with a lot of other things going on in life has been that spending those moments when your hands are busy but your brain doesn't have much to do thinking about the game and planning ahead.
