It's very different, and just not the replacement that gw wants (or wanted) it to be. As for the actual game, it's alright. 2nd edition was widely considered the peak. Current edition (4th) has solid core rules, but they sucked all the flavour out of warscrolls and armies. If gw manages to turn that around and stop having every fucking ability deal d3 damage on a 3+ the game will be sovl again.
