Learned elders of /WIP/, what's the best way to remove excess super glue from hard plastic? I accidentally put way too much glue while trying to put on a gorget to the model. Dish soap didn't help, will isopropyl alcohol do the trick? Last time I tried aceton it started melting the plastic. Plan b is to sculpt a fur pelt for the guy to wear from green stuff.

Here's that scale comparison between spacenam and grimguard jungle raptors that I promised earlier. The grimguard heads seem to be a bit larger but their general body size is pretty similar. Sorry for my thumb being in the way lol. All my assembled spacenam units were already stuck on bases so it was a bit fiddly getting the pic taken with both dudes lined up

are you planning on running them in 40k? I think it looks cool, but I would like to see it in a matching colour scheme to properly form my opinion.

post them again, I'm sure it was just a mistake
>>
>>97264842
You could try putting it in the freezer, that's supposed to make super glue more brittle at which point you could maybe chip it off easier.

it looks like anon is trying to convert/ glue something to plastic that's not plastic. so superglue. Plus I pretty much never use plastic glue anymore unless I need the strength because I like to go back on decisions and snap arms off. Superglue's fine. If he made the mistake with plastic glue instead the whole model would be melted.

Just finished my most involved kitbash to date and im incredibly proud of it. I originally intended to make the head hooded since the host model incorporated the back half of the head onto the torso, and i thought sculpting hair would be beyond my abilities. This is my first time using greenstuff for anything other than gap filling. But after some Emperor blessed screw ups while making the hood, i saw how easy the hair would actually be to make and went that route instead. This will be my interrogator for a radical inquisitorial agents kill team

Looks like they did it with just a shitton of stippling and a gloss varnish.
I'd recommend colourshift/metallic paints, but I don't know if you could get such an extreme cream-black transition with those.

Fffuuuuuu- lets see if this works.
Head is from Warcry Jade Obelisk team, body is female genestealer magus, gun arm is delaque ganger, book arm is from imquisition agents. The warcry team comes with a masked and unmasked head for the model if you want a bare faced version. The sculpt of the bare face is a lot better than the boxart makes it look

>>
>>97265318
Tou can honestly just paint the edges with a silver or dark paint like you would with an edge highlight.
If you're feeling ambitious you could also highlight the bottom edge of any given scratch/chip to create the illusion of depth.
>>
>>97265318
Apply very small amounts of silver or a similar color around the edges of the metal surface. You can also do thin streaks and dots here and there, but it's easy to overdo it.
>>
>>97264961
Look good to me.
>>

I guess it speaks to that anon's skill that I thought that was actual paint chipping and not an additional layer on top. It's a really cool effect, gonna try it out on my next mini
>>
>>97265318
i used black first, kind of like a highlight but way messier, then a metal (not too bright, i used vallejo games chainmail) on a smaller surface over the black parts

I'm just in awe over here over the ego on you, thinking you can accuse everyone and there dog of being your mental bogeyman day in and day out for so long and you somehow come to the conlcusion that this isn't anons being sick of your delusional shit, no, it's some sad sack who made the mistake of posting less than professional quality minis in this thread months ago, got shit on for having a non-GW friendly opinion on products and never came back.
It couldn't possibly be that you sperging out over something and refusing to just let it go after you got your way is FUCKING ANNOYING.
I would take the shitty craft paint minis every day over your no models bullshit.
>>
>>97265438

I think he's the one that got angry when people called citadel rattlecans primers. It might be the same person though, I usually hid these meltdowns so I'm not 100% on the lore.

I always found it funny how easy it all sounds, even after having watched and read so much material on the subject, only to fall completely flat the second you have to actually pick up a brush and do it; at least it's progress and I've learned some valuable lessons (like that I can't mix and manage colours for shit)

>>97265198
Fug that's a really cool interrogator, have you settled on a scheme for your whole team yet? Also, good on you for sculpting the hair instead of slapping a hood on her, definitely makes her look much more confident
>>

If that's your choice go for it. They're your models so you can paint them or not paint them however you want.
>>
>>97265526
I don't trust aerosol varnishes anymore, just a light paint-on varnish brushing onto the areas that will get touched.
Where I live in winter sprays can get fucked up from the temperature difference outside and indoors. and I ruined a squad years ago applying too much spray varnish.
>>
>>97265761
You should honestly always varnish with an airbrush, rattlecans suck
>>
>>97265761
I've only ever tried paint-on varnish and it pisses me off every time. People say that you can cut down on the gloss by putting clear medium over top but that's just a fucking lie.
>>
>>97265659
Thanks anon! I have not. I sperged out on Inquisition books this year and read all of The Vaults of Terra trilogy, Eisenhorn trilogy, Ravenor trilogy, and the 2 curremt Bequin books and what I noticed was only the troopers and any regular joe staff have uniforms, all the operatives wear what they prefer. So ill lean into colors that will fit the personalities of each character. Neutral blanche-style colors for most of them except the inquisitor and interrogator, and maybe neon punk look for the penal scum dude. The thing for certain is the interrogator will have bright orange hair like Poison Ivy from The Cramps/girl from the Brave movie/lead singer of Castle Rat
>>
>>97265779
