I have pocket money to spend.
Who are the surviving toy soldier manufacturers still in operation on this fair isle?
From Carlton to Broxtowe, Ashfield to Rushcliffe, show me some production houses still limping on.

Alternative Armies is one which I've never actually pulled the trigger on, because they are on a slightly too-sovlful sculpting style.

Heresy I've been thinking about this prospector for a literal decade, but I can never quite put a whole basketful together.

Genre? Scale? For what wargame?

Pretty sure there's at least one of them thriving, given they have a higher revenue than the entire Br*tish fishery industry

Brexit is Brexit, as they say.

We'll get the cause celebre out of the way here:

Fantasy or scifi or weird war or pulp, 28mm, 32mm or 54mm.
My group mostly plays skirmish games, and we're pretty much model agnostic and/or kitbashing regardless of whether the game has an official line or not.
At the moment it is Nucromunda because the guy organising the campaign didn't want to learn something else.
Are you about to sound the nogaems siren because I'm not

... sure that's a particularly helpful line of enquiry, and even if I were a nogaems, sources of little tin lads for yesgaems would still be of value to the board.

Anyway here's Mammoth Minis, another dude that does the sort of community casting thing where amateurs can get their sculpts moulded and cast for just a moderate profit-skim.

Awfully defensive for a legitimate question asked without hostility.

Regardless, here's a comprehensive list I dug up from my bookmarks, but it was updated just over a year ago so some of it might be out of date:

Your post was one of the classic thought terminators currently rendering the chan unusable, rendered in one of the classic forms, anon.

That's a good list.
Have you bought from any yourself, and do you have any recommendations or condemnations based on those experiences?

I tend to grab a couple of models or a pack from Black Scorpion every Salute, they are well sculpted and properly proportioned and tend to be very nice and crisply cast.

I have some stuff from Black Sun as well, their 54mm Hawk Knight, I think, and some steampunk top hat clockwork power fist guy.
Similarly good quality. Their shop looks less and less active every time I check on it.

>Have you bought from any yourself
I think the only ones I've bought from are (all in 28mm too):
>Makashi's Tea House and Space Vixens From Mars (some not!Star Trek metals)
>Northstar Figures (Oathmark heavy human plastic and metal preorders)
>Perry Miniatures (plastic Agincourt Knights)
>Victrix Miniatures (plastic Norman Infantry)
>Wargames Atlantic (lots of stuff from them)
WGA is actually American, but to get around tariffs if you order from outside America they cast and ship from a British factory they opened.
>Warlord Games (plastic and metal Euro Wars of Religion)
I recommend all of them, but be warned that Warlord Game sculpts can be hit-or-miss and some of the older Victrix are a mix of multipart and multipart monopose (but they seem to be getting better with recent kits on avoiding monopose elements)

Is it WGA that does the regular polls for the next new kits?
Landschnekt ogres etc.?
I was planning on picking those ogres up until I saw the Desperate Dan-ass faces, way too cartoonish for my tastes. I wish more places just made ogres big ugly men, instead of bizarro caricatures.

I wish more websites would post fucking scales or sizes of their models too
>sold with a 25mm base
>base not picture to use as reference
or even better
>x model in photograph is for scale only
>x model is from their own line, impossible to accurately judge scale from
Fucking why.

Yeah, that's them.

>Desperate Dan-ass faces, way too cartoonish for my tastes
If you're not opposed to a bit of 3d printing, they have plate armour version of the ogres that are compatible with the plastic model kit. You get full face covering helmets which might mitigate your issue

Those do look pretty good.
I don't tend to use printed pieces out of some sort of grog contrarian feeling, but if those landed in my lap I'd be pretty happy with them.

I guess it's the unstoppable march into the future, but a high proportion of the links I clicked in >>97270872 have stores that are mostly or entirely 3D prints, STLs, or the only images of the models are of renders.
Undeniably better than
>here's a table of product codes, email me to possibly receive the catalogue PDF of grainy photos of one thick coat example models
I guess.
