Mages and wizards of /tg/, make your predictions for 2026! What will happen in the RPG-verse? Do it now before it happens!
>>97274207OP becomes a millionaire after making and debuting their brand new RPG with an original, unique setting!
I predict more copyright shitfuckery from WOTC, more neo-nazi bullshit from Judges Guild and eg Pundit, more not-5e slop like Draw Steel and MCDMRPG, and more incompetence from Paizo.Basically same old same old. I'm tired.
>>97274550>Basically same old same old. I'm tired.Best time in the year to try something new and different!talking genuinely here and not in the "gtfo then" sense
>>97274207Another OSR system will be released that people will make a big deal about. It will be B/X + some gimmick like "spells cost HP not spell slots?!?!?" It will not be worth playing. It will be forgotten within a month. The Fighter class will be called something stupid like "The Muscle."WoTC will do something woke and/or retarded. My divination is rusty, so idk what it will be, but there will be minimum 100 /pol/ tier threads about it by 2027. Draw Steel will trudge along, and people will continue to treat it like something special. Nothing of note will happen.I WILL move to the city and find a new IRL group.
>>97274207Over/under 4.5 primaris lieutenants? Personally, I think there will be 3 plus a few chapter kits. No xenos, 1 chaos kit.
>>97274207Consumer spending decrease continues. Dominant game companies (WotC, GW) get a bit desperate, continue to squeeze in retarded ways as various executive suites bail. Mid range companies get fucked hard, continue selling and going under. Boutique games hit peak saturation and fall off for a while. RPGs and wargames shift into increasing complexity again. Xrd edition reprints of whatever made money last time churn for a bit more. Kickstarter becomes less viable. Youtubers viability falls off, gets more intense for competition, generative slop takes a lot of them out. Crib or backgamon gets big again on tiktok.
