A thread for talking about players doing dumb shit and acting like retards.

>Be me
>Running short campaigns for new groups at the LGS
>Players are all tasked with defending some random hamlet in a backwater province from bandits that are planning to sack it and haul everyone off into slavery
>First group is (rightly) terrified of a fair fight
>Lures the bandits into an ambush by getting help from a neighboring village
>raid their camp after they retreat and destroy the group
>Second group tries brute force
>Roll up on the bandit camp directly and alone
>Talk their way into meeting with the leader when they rushed him
>Catch him offguard
>Are also playing optimized characters
>Slaughter him and his guards and convince half of the bandit group to work for them, rest scatter
>The third group
>Two players hog the spotlight and do 90% of the talking
>#3 and #4 just zone out
>Group is immediately lost on what to do
>Spend the first hour arguing with eachother
>Eventually they try to tell the villagers they have to flee because there's way they can fight the bandits
>Villagers oppose this
>Their chief explains they have nowhere to take refuge, just finished a harvest, don't have enough wagons to bring all their food, and winter is near
>Player 1 and 2 are visibly annoyed, immediately give up on convincing them
>Tell them everyone, women and children, will have to go to the camp and siege them
>Village chief once again argues back
>"Well if you won't listen to us, we won't be able to save anyone, so..."
>Player 1 and 2 suddenly attack the village chief
>In the middle of the square
>In front of everyone
>Ask them if they're sure
>they insist
>After 2 rounds of getting jumped by dozens of villagers and a few unlucky rolls they and player 3 get KO'd
>Player 4 ran away the moment combat started
>Villagers lynch them
>As I'm getting ready to put away my notes
>Player 1 and 2 tell me they're making new characters that are joining with the bandits
>mfw

At least yours showed up OP. The worst thing pl*yers can do is flake. One useless piece of shit in my current group has gotten the GM to postpone the game FIVE TIMES in the last two months.

Two out of three groups is not a bad score.
>>

Funny you mention that, Group 3's scheduling also had problems and I hastily rescheduled their second session because their fourth player texted us just thirty minutes before the game, to say he couldn't make it after checking his work schedule.

I found three ideal players and four really good players out of it, so I'm not complaining about the entire thing. I was just baffled by the Group 3 and how retarded they were.
Suppose I was lucky that the worst players all congregated into one group instead of spreading their shittiness around.
>>
>Want to run playtest of system I am making
>Excited to get anyone interested as its niche
>Before session starts "I checked out your previous posts to see what kind of person I am playing with"
>Seems understandable so far
>"So I saw this post from 3 years ago..."

>Be me looking for feedback on different system
>Person gives long detailed post
>Details include "If I do a varied character, I can't roll as well as a specialised character" (no shit), "I shouldn't have to look outside of character creation to know how to make a character" (This was in response to not knowing Target Numbers when deciding on skill ranks) "Being able to build something not able to do some things means you have trap options" (It's a point spend system with growing costs, similar to GURPS style)

>Be excited to run a game I have looked at for ages
>Tell players to read the book like 2 months in advance
>Session starts and I ask if everyone is ready to play
>"So how do I make a character"

JFC I get the weird ones

>"So I saw this post from 3 years ago..."
What was the post?
>>
>>97276022
I don't remember

Creeped out that they looked so far back
>>
>>97276031
You do remember, and you can check yourself since it's your post history. Pretending not to know means you're hiding something, and you deserved to be judged.
