>>97276955The what appears to be AI art does harm the otherwise pretty good visual design. Also the names range from what appears to be nonsense (thewaro? Lsundros?) to "its a pun-ish thing" and that also leaves some options feeling unappealing on the outset. Also, given how much weight the CYOA seems to give to the "its a sex harem" thing, the ugly options feel out of place. The rhino being strong doesn't really compensate for "yeah, but I wouldn't stick my dick in it" compared to other options like the emo flatties or whatever.

>>97277050The issue isnt "this art is AI", the issue is that I can clearly tell its AI art because it has the usual imperfections and issues. Its low quality. And because its low quality it makes you want to continue reading the cyoa less, its the visual language of low effort content. If someone uses AI art and you cant tell its AI art? Good for them, but most of the stuff genAI makes is not very good and visually offputting.

>>97277066To make a comparison. UE5 is, memes asides, fine, there are good games made in UE5. But when you see a game and it just looks like generic UE5 assets? It does not inspire much confidence. >>97277169>The only critique I have right now is probably the fact that I thought the demon lord quest/crisis should also have 3 tiers like the other onesThere was originally meant to be a third three tier quests page, one focussed on a demonic threat, but I never managed to quite get a concrete enough idea of what it would involve that was more unique, and for spacing issues I ended up starting on the "sidequests" early, so it ended up being cut. >good job on giving the investigative paladins a lot of work and good powers btwThanks. I was (still am I guess) worried I was too focussed on the combat powers, but I tried to have utility where possible. >>97277139I would say its less about outcome than intent. Condemnation is a lethal technique, or one that you know can easily be lethal and whos effect you cannot necessarily control. So I would think that in the spirit of "not killing" you would need to be very careful with its use. If someone dies? Thats obviously really regrettable and bad, but its not necessarily in your control (someone might have, unknown to you, some health condition, and when you subdue them they die from a strike which shouldnt have been lethal, I dont think that would count against the oaht) but "im going to hit them with the "repent or die" attack" feels like its kinda flagrantly violating the "I dont want them to die" principle unless youre really certain they're going to repent. >>97277273Probably not. Nothing wrong with prudence. But its a dangerous road right? Power tempts and all that, so you would want to be careful. If you want to do some sort of "I need to train and be the strongest I can be so I can protect people better in the future"? Then thats going to be fine, the intention seems good enough, if theres going to be difficulties or issues its going to be in terms of "what sacrifices am I making for this power" and so on. >>97277283>It literally kills youNo, it just sees your death because it is a deity
>>97277286>You are worthless, stop trying to have thingsThis "light" guy is an assholeI'm starting to think having the correct colour scheme does not make you a fundamentally moral person
>>97277283for the army thing youre forgetting about stuff like undead armies or armies of constructs or demons and whatnot, theres definitely going to be times when being able to fight an entire army alone is going to be handy especially with some of these quests and whatnoti will say the rest of what you said does make an eerie amount of sense, idk, i might still take the deal doe if i wanted to like actually do good for my fellow person or smth, i tend to like paladins and clerics, not the lawful stupid kind, atleast not always but eh, i do think it could be interesting if we could get future cyoa's in this specific verse that lets us be other things like an archmage or smth cause i suddenly got interested in that when i saw they existed and that stuff like ensouled artifact and golemancy were things here
>>97277327Whatever you say about the light guy, he's not going to sell your body to sexual slavery/for organs, make you an undead slave, or do whatver the fuck the demon guy would do to you (which is probably worse than everythign else), so I'd say he's alright in my book
>>97277326I states directly that an individual can live for thousands of yearsMeaning the powers CAN change the amount of time you live forThe light can contact you if you have certain powersBut it won't save you, infact it will ensure you die as it has planned(So it gets your soul)

>>97277326>>97277283>And why exactly is it asking that I expend my soul exactly as a "unholy" magician would? Its not. No one is asking you to soul flare, it is simply a thing you have the potential to do. Also, there is a difference between "your soul" and "other peoples souls". You killing yourself isnt the same as you killing someone else. >Mind controlAnon its just guilt. You can make guilty people feel guilty to help them avoid doing bad things.>Weak mind controlYou aren't controlling anyone. >How many paladins fight armies of mortals?Loads probably. Statistically I would imagine mortals account for a good chunk of the evil out there. Armies of orcs, bandit hordes, your regular megalomaniacal tyrants, theres plenty of reasons for a paladin to fight regular people in large numbers. Although the techniques are also useful against monsters, demons, undead and so on.>How many armies are made out of truly immoral men?Truly immoral meaning "pure evil"? Few, none probably. But you dont need them to be "entirely pure evil". If they are doing evil things (like killing innocents), then stopping them, by lethal force if necessary, is obviously fine (as a general rule, some paladins obviously have higher standards and will try exhaust other options first, but ultimately even the pacifistic types will stop people with violence if truly necessary).>Are the arms dealers evil? They can be. Do you think selling weapons makes you inherently good or something?> factory workersSure, I guess? You can work in a factory and also be a murderer. >How can however many people be definitively morally evil?By being evil? I don't follow.>Would it not make most everyone on earth evil? No? Why would it?>I wonder how the women got pregnant when ignoring your duties for even a day is seen as a fitting reason to strip a paladin of their power (Pregnancy is voluntary and takes months)Everything else asides. >>97277427Without some form of determinism in fantasy setting divination of any kind or even prophecies are meaningless, and they're a staple of fantasy storytelling. It could be gradations or probability-based (there are more possible ways for you to die tomorrow if you fight a big demon army or you might survive)
Paladins are crap. They will murder their wives if they get raped—before they kill the rapist. This is assuming they are allowed to take wives at all. Paladins are peak comedy mentality.

Can you lend them to others? No, enchanting a blow with silencing essentially puts your ability into the seal, so for the same reason that you wouldnt be able to conventionally silence people, you wouldnt be able to make another seal while the first one is up . Yes, the seal works even if you arent using the weapon. >Can you create multiple spirit guardians?Yes.>How would apotheosis+soul flare interact?Very dramatically. It would be a hell of a big explosion.>>97277426No worries, enjoy the cyoa!>>97277427Its a zero-cost power, you don't have to take it, but it's free and moderately useful. Finger of deaths and power word Kills arent everywhere, but they're a thing. The first tier of zero cost powers were originally a special category of "all paladins have this by default" powers, but I figured this implementation was cleaner and more elegant (and conveniently for me, less work and more consistent formatting for the powers page)Plus I do think its more in character for the Light Indomitable to not force any specific power onto you, I don't imagine it (she?) thinks youre actually going to become eternal in the way that destined death would care about, but if you want to dream then go for it.
