What does /tg/ think of it? Haven't seen anyone talk about it, so I thought that I'd like to hear your opinion.

I'd like to see your fully painted army.

I don't know anything about it.

I think it's shit and slop.
>>
Had no idea what this was and looking it up seems to be another group of people who want to move on from GW but lack the imagination to come up with something new.
>>
>>97290450
But are they as anti-consumer as GW?
>>
>>97290239
I like it a lot but that's just because it hits my personal aesthetic tastes. It's warhammer 15k with a late cold war MIC and megacorps aesthetic. Obviously it's not super hard science fiction but the fantasy elements are heavily toned down. The big ones are the FTL system (a calm warp) and the space oil (velanite) which is like a nuclear isomer fuel. I'll post some of their pics
>>
>>97291906
Doesn’t matter. You're upset about GW prices because it's GW's shit you want, not this or any of the countless other "40k heartbreakers" that have come (and usually quickly gone) over the years.

This but unironically. Games Workshop invented futuristic soldier in powered armor. Nobody ever had the idea of putting elite infantry in mechanically assisted suits and equipping them with really big guns before them.

The impression I get is their combat is supposed to work like this meme. It's 'what if Peter Watts and Alastair Reynolds wrote the technology, but cultural factors warped society sideways into something dieselpunk.' There are no energy shields and the main military use of nanotech is anti-laser fog, hence the autoguns.
>>
>we hate GW now for...reasons

Good execution on the technical level, but they could have gone the extra creative mile during the design process.

Well I'm mad because almost all models of power armor are very clearly based on space marines. This is why everyone's calling it gay, it's very blatantly 3rd party space marine STLs but with a cool and original setting (do not steal!). I'd be happy as a clam if more people made power armor that looked like literally anything other than a space marine.

Even if it was literally re-boxed 40k models with literal copy-paste lore, 40k gameplay is complete dogshit.
>>

>>
[BUMP]

Cmon faggots where's the table top.
>>
It doesn't seem to be much of anything. A handful of STLs and a tiny bit of fluff. If they're planning actually make anything their site doesn't make it at all clear.
>>
>>97292405
This. Being original isn't necessary, but being distinct is required.
We mocked GW for the time their models bore all the markers of having been modeled in a software, and all these here got for them is that they're the xth legally distinct Space Marine clones modeled in a 3D software pack as well.

Also it's literally a nogame, which is putting the cart before the horse.

There is no game.
>>
OP, as someone who doesn't play 40k, reading this thread my opinion is the same as the majority here
It looks 3rd party 40k to them that seem to know what they say
And to ME, this one
>>97291991
you'll have to explain why it's not 40k if I see it on a table, I've seen lots of 40k minis in hundreds of minis/wips threads, but because I don't know the lore I would be hard pressed to guess if this is or isn't official 40k stuff (my guess would be on unofficial on the only account that they are 3d models and I know 40k does injected plastic bits, but not on design)

The RPG is coming out late 2026. For some reason they chose a 2d20 system
>>
I like the portrayal of humanity in the animations, but the whole thing is more hurt by its adherence to being 40k's knock-off than it gains from it.
>>

>2d20 System

What a strange choice, do we have any more information regarding the rules or is it locked behind Patron or some shit?
>>
>>97294670

>>
>>97296659
I dunno anon that's kinda a cheapshot I'd expect something to look like Spacemarines if they were very clearly painted in the same scheme and way.

Yeah they're big Mech boys with power armor, if you have better examples I say post it.
>>
>>97296904
Don't engage with dishonest argumentation. >>97294670 has been shopped to make them look more like Space Marines than they actually are, not just the color scheme but fully replacing all of the heads.

Never, ever allow anyone to tell you that Games Workshop has any kind of exclusivity over big men in big armor. They got to where they are today by ripping off anything and everything under the sun, and pulled the ladder up after them by aggressively litigating against anyone who dared to call their futuristic soldiers who fought from space ships "space marines," despite the term of art existing in published science fiction for fifty years before GW even existed.

Everything looks like Space Marines because Space Marines look like nothing. If anything, the Primarisization of the range has resulted in them becoming even more generic and unremarkable as they try to pass off watered down StarCraft II units as original ideas.

Fuck >>97296659 and all the rest of the rest of the GW defense league.
>>
>>97297140
I aspire to be like u anon.
>>
>>97297140
>implying they wouldn't look like Mk XI power armour with the original heads
>>
>>97297140
GW doesn't have exclusivity but these ones kinda suck. Their silhouettes are too similar to space marines. There are more than enough PA models that manage to stay distinctive while still being just dudes in heavy armor.
>>
>>97291991
You didn't have to give your space marines big dumb shoulder pads like 40k, but you did so you deserve every ripoff accusation you get.
>>

On a scale with points like studio nue starship troopers, madox 01, landmates, mak, etc, and then you have space marines, these are firmly on the side with space marines.

>>
>>97297140
No one is arguing in favour of GW having exclusive copyright of the concept of "big burly men with heavy armor in space", but the design in question looks suspiciously derivative. Pauldrons and greaves are too similar for comfort.

You can look at 40K and are free to take the parts you like about the setting as a whole and rework them into something else, that's how 40K got made in the first place, but you have to be aware that 40K exists and you will be compared to it if you take too much without reworking it enough. If you didn't work on the design to be distinct enough because you want to ride on the coattails of space marines, you come out as insecure or in bad faith. If you actually didn't think people would see the similarities because you didn't think about that enough, you're either naive or a moron.
>>
I just want to see a better mix of Heavy Mech Armor.

Anyone got good wargames that have a mix of such? Or even just model recommendations?
>>
>>97290239
This all but confirms that space marines aren't all that interesting to me if you separate them from their lore

The big armor suits are for normal mech pilots to politically counterbalance the supersoldiers. There's one catch: no free will when you plug in.

I don't think there's anything wrong for doing a Chinese knock off of a brand if the brand in question is being lame as fuck. I think it's good because it keeps the flavor but lets it get taken in a different direction. If someone makes Cosmic Troopers that fight for the Holy Kaiser in neat models at cheap prices then fuck GW.
