Not as a player but one of the biggest threat my players have met in my DnD campaign lately was a very racist anti-nonhuman fallen preacher and her not-southern-baptist paladin right-hand man that infiltrated a cathedral of Torm as a emissary of Torm and turned an entire city to religious racist nonhuman fervor and riots. She was herself a half-elf and hated her elven ancestry to the point of self-hatred and racial hatred causing her to fall to Hadar worship for the promised power of changing herselfThe riots were a cover to cause chaos and use the deaths to kickstart a planar summoning portal to the far realm and summon a Hadar-corrupted dragonShe was a blast to RP and really make the player hate her through her actions.

The elf wizard justified it as "younger races" being too stupid/shortsighted, so he was patronizing of anybody that wasn't an elf. Similarly, the dwarf cleric clearly put his own people first and foremost: he would still heal other species, but his choices were weighted by how he thought they would ultimately affect dwarves.

They don't consider themselves actively racist against X race or Y group but they basically have some sort of stereotype or bias that either gets reinforced or deconstructed depending on what happens. Like considering a certain race inherently untrust worthy but still able to work with them (as long as they're proven trust worthy or they have some assurances that they're not a 'bad one'). That depends though, my current character I'm playing was a soldier from a hyper-racial supremacist militant society that lost a big war and was essentially destroyed and (all but one) of the player characters are vagabonds from that society. She was a 'semi-tolerated' racial minority though and she over compensated by basically joining the most Elite Frontline Units and fought in one of the most bloody and intense battles of the entire war that got so brutal and bad that her entire unit was essentially all KIA or MIA and she doesn't know if anyone else escaped the city since POWs were getting massacred and dumped in unmarked graves. After enduring that experience she was entirely disillusioned and sort of actively tries to reject any sort of racialized beliefs although she probably still has some racist ideas about other races she hasn't exactly examined very well.
