What's a single promotional model you would like for your faction that captures either a single piece of iconic art, pays homage to an older design, or just gives an alternative sculpt of a character that doesn't really need to be remade but would be nice to have a slightly different look for?

>500 Worlds
Is GW trying to turn the 500 worlds thing into the current year's Battle for Armageddon? It looks like that for me.

Any grogs in here able to comment on the fanbase impression of Armageddon vs 500 Worlds?

If Armageddon has been done better than what did it get right that 500 Worlds is allegedly getting wrong?

The twenty-eight-point-five millimeter base is the greatest innovation James has made in the last ten years. So many old scuplts that just didn't work on a 25mm are able to sit so handily on a 28.5 and they look so much better for it. Such a perfect size. The golden ration of bases.
>>
>>97306374
Contrary to popular belief, there is not a safe way to roid. You could go on /fit/ and listen to the cult of Tren and go "Well it's probably not that bad..." but you will be doing irreversible damage to your body even with microdoses. Hell, better to use supplements like Creatine in the long run if you absolutely need something to boost your gains.
>>
>>97306374

you can get extremely impressive results with just some fucking basic discipline and consistency

there is no reason not to take it unless you have some kind of pre-existing kidney condition or something, which you probably dont

Man, I love the Grey Knights. The art and writing in the codex is still really cool, even if people shit on Matt Ward. The miniatures still hold up really well to this very day too.
>>97306393
Absolutely this. Although I want to say that the average fa/tg/uy could grab a set of dumbbells or barbell and get a daily work out in just fine. It is what I do because I am way too far from a gym for daily travel. Roids are a hazard and a vanity poison.

There is one (1) study that is of dubious quality that claims it leads to hair loss, but it has never come up in other studies. There is a hair loss to working out link but often for genetic reasons.

Joke is on GW if they think they can stop me from playing old editions or hell, non-GW games with my old minis. Besides, Primaris makes no sense of the GK because they are not "normal" Space Marines. Makes sense to me. I have a (very)short king friend who started to dedicate his life to working out(natty tho) and he started losing his long hair after a while. Coincidence? I like to think there is a connection atleast because it's funny. He went from skinny fat with loooong greasy hair to a bald fantasy dwarf.
>>
>>97306311

Fair enough. But until they get updated, and they will get updated, I'll stick to the very nice and newish black templar sculpts.
>>
>>97306440
>cooincidence?
probably
male pattern baldness affects 25-30% of men by age 30
its extraordinarily common
it probably genuinely is just coincidence
>>
>>97306440
I am just glad I kept my hair. I wish I was smart enough to quote exactly how it works but I am not. It is from what I vaguely remember less about the creatine and more that working out boosts hormone levels which causes hair loss from testosterone increases.
>>97306451
Amusingly enough, if GK had a Black Templar style forced update I think that would be the best possible outcome.
>>
>>97306458

which gets nuked the second they get back and see their loved ones

Put a pause on painting rubrics until I could try out Vallejo's true metallic metal paints. The one on the left is called Aged Metal and isn't what I want for the trim, but I really like the colour itself so will have to find something to use it with later on. The other two are imperial gold and arcane gold, going to see how they look with some of the different true metallic blues.

They don't. They usually find an excuse to not do it like everything else in this hobby whether it be faces, skin, eyes, writing on purity seals, nmm, osl, or whatever else you decide you don't want to do but can't just admit you aren't interested in doing it

>Is really giving me severan dominatefag energy
I don't know what that means.
>>
>>97306107
I don't bother with monopose nonmodular minis. They are all inherently shit. Mini kits are just a collection of bits I clip out of the sprue as soon as possible and sort into bit boxes. Their value is in quantity and quality of unique looking bits. Only way I can acquire HQs/singular unique models is through discount boxes like Start Collecting/Patrols/Battleforces. I don't have any named character for any of my armies.
>>
>>97306816
Good to hear. Severan dominatefsg was some guy who posted for months about building out his own /yourdudes/ regiment but was always coming g up with one more excuse as to why he couldn't start. He got to a point where he had like 500$ in 3rd Party bits, then built 3 identically posed guys, basecoated them over a Doan of months and then claimed he wanted to use diy washes for some other project and had spent 3 months bruteforcing his own recipes with nothing to shoe of his work outside a half dozen swatches of wash on a piece of plasticard. Testing like you're doing is find, just don't let it become the hobby in of itself and you'll be good
>>
>>97306650
I don't like Mechs at all and only want more auxiliaries for Tau. Tau need second Kroot wave in addition to new auxiliaries and some expansion to Vespid. Tau themselves don't need more stuff ever again. I guess basic Fire Warriors are ok.
>>
>>97306855
>Testing like you're doing is find, just don't let it become the hobby in of itself and you'll be good
I mean, I already multiple armies worth of grey plastic so I figured it was time to move on to the next part of the hobby (collecting piles of paint so I can paint a couple of models and never commit to a scheme).
>>
Tau refits for captured or surplus Imperium vehicles soon.
>in which the railgun baneblade becomes the least balanced thing in the game
>>
>>97306896
Why would tau ever refit imperial vehicles? They have more than enough of their own.
>>
>>97306757
I always had custom decals printed on a really thing paper at any local printing place, soak it in glue than matte varnish over it to lock it in place.
>>
>>97306907
Why waste good equipment? They can have their newly conquered humans use them as fodder too.
>>
>>97306870
>never commit to a scheme
Oh that's me! I love kitbashing/converting the most so I put a bunch of energy in that, then grow cold feet when I start testing out paint job. Doesn't help I'm not a naturally good painter and tend to pick tricky schemes. So far in my armies of shame I have
>AoS lizards - too many colours, nope
>AoS khorne - picked a brass/white colour scheme with blood splatter, then realised I'd have to paint white...
>AoS undead - couldn't decide how to paint them that wasn't too stereotypical
>40k inquisitorial stormtrooper army with deathwatch accompaniment - my most painted/complete army, just got a little tired painting so. much. black.
>honourable mentions: RT's personal murder squad (ca: mechanicus) and the fallen csm kill teams - kitbash projects that were tricky and taking a lot of time, didn't quite get to painting stage

In any case, don't mind anon there being a grump. Hopefully posting here spurs you on to not dwell at any one particular stage of your project! I'm currently pushing myself to do a TOW tzeentch army and sell off all those old projects (barring the kill teams), and planning to post progress pics in appropriate places to spur me on too.
>>
>>97306913
You can also just buy transparent waterslide decal sheets and print on those.
>>
>>97306917
Yeah, there are a bunch of different aspects to the hobby, it's not surprising if one hooks someone more than another and they decide to focus on that.
>>
>>97306915
Why would the Tau consider it "good equipment" to begin with?
>>
>>97306945
Because they then have an alternative to "oh no gue'la, we can't trust you with any of our shit"
>>
>>97306954
The Tau would have to dedicate production to producing replacement parts, otherwise as soon as some widget breaks the tank is useless. Production that would be better spent producing Tau equipment.
>>
>>97306920
I dont have a compatible printer for it at home. I dont like buying printers in my country because they are all scams and I hvaent found one that isnt like... idk I dont want to get into autistic printer conspiracies but essentially they are designed to be traceable + all use proprietary ink and it just feels like extremely evil capitalist junk. And the Imperium can barely shit with its pants down. A forgeworld slipping to T'au is plausible because someone fucked up their 27,275th form confirming it exists.

I'm not even a Taufag, I just like pointing out how dogshit the Imperium is even with stuff they deem important.

No one's jumping. The first post that mentioned Tau refits included a railgun baneblade.

Do you think the admech that ran the forgeworld wouldn't fight to defend it? And, failing to defend it, would leave anything in good enough condition for the Tau to corrupt with their heresy?

Mechanicum keeps track of their own worlds and if one of them was in danger of going off the reservation, they'd most definitely intervene. They don't like Imperium misusing their tech, so why would they allow some filthy alien commies taking it?
>>
>>97307008
Not in my experience. They just werk and don't break. HP on other hand keeps breaking and sperging out constantly. All the fucking time for some inane reasons.
Once I had a case where new HP printer refused to work for someone. Turns out it had some DRM where you could only print like 10 pages and then had to register it and unlock through HP application. But app itself was buggy and couldn't even register printer properly, it only worked for like 30 seconds because reasons. Printer had to print some test first to unlock it but couldn't since 10 first prints were already printed too. I spent hours trying to fix it. Eventually did it with some arcane rituals by using both phone app and then somehow logging into desktop app and very quickly clicking required option before app broke again. Later I found that it was some weird version of printers they stopped making quickly because they were too shit for HP even.
I have PTSD from HP shit. Fuck those guys. Fuck em in particular

That's true but it still works on the entire rest of the army. Forcing them to hit on 5s is nasty. That being said though I obviously didn't play the game so you've probably got a better idea on how it went down than I did.

Well I can at least talk about that right now while I wait on the magnets to stick to my Venom (I HATE gluing magnets to flight stands btw).

Devoted of Ynnead Detachment.

Yvraine
5 Incubi
1 Venom
10 Kabalite Warriors
1 Raider
10 Dire Avengers
5 Wraithguard
5 Warp Spiders
1 Harlequin Solitaire
985 Points

Fighting Nids, not sure what but I know my mate is bringing Swarmlord and a Screamer-Killer.
Plan for my units is:
Yvraine and Incubi in Venom racing around killing important heroes/elite units
Raider/Kabalites sticky-ing objectives
Dire Avengers dealing with hordes
Wraithguard being anti-monster
Warp Spiders being my anti-horde/shit-didn't-see-that-coming response unit hopping about dealing with any unexpected threats
Solitaire as a suicide melee sniper racing about and contributing his insane damage output wherever it's need and then presumably dying.

IDK if you're using a brush or can/airbrush for all or some of them, but you probably need to mix the paints up more before applying. For can and airbrush many more things can result in a bad finish, but applying too thickly is the next most likely problem to result in a grainy metal finish.

The 10E codex for Eldar made a point of showing that the Ynnari are being abandoned wholesale by the rest of the Eldar.
The upcoming Maelstrom plotline for Yriel is all about him going to find ancient Eldar weapons in order to convince Iyanden's leading council to break away and stop supporting the Ynnari as well.
It's nothing concrete but it's really not looking good for Yvraine.

In the old times, the before times, there were only two camps: Primaries and Secondaries.

The Primaries painted models. They owned rulebooks and codices. Some even played the game, and discussed models and painting and rules on places like /tg/, dakkadakka, and B&C.

Then came 2004, and the Secondaries emerged from the shadow of Dawn of War. They knew their place however, and bowed to the neckbearded primaries, not claiming to know more than they, not obsessing over things they did not understand, for they were honest. They enjoyed only vidya and memes. Some ascended to the rank of primary after wandering into their local LGS. Many others remained secondaries.

And so, with the hierarchy in place, order reigned. But behind closed doors in Nottingham, a scheme was being hatched.

"Ah, Black Library is kind of shit" said a publishing suit. "But what if we serialized the shit out of it and paid people to put Black Library books on the NYT Bestsellers list?"

And so, in 2006, the Horus Heresy novels were published.

Many secondaries picked up these books. Their retardation-addled minds, having never read any text beyond Dr. Seuss picture books, proclaimed them to be Shakespeare. And lo, some primaries with good intentions but slow minds created wikis for the secondaries, including 1d4chan, compiling their knowledge of pedantic fluff on these sites, and the secondaries rejoiced and began to shit up the pages with stuff they made up in their heads.

And so a new breed of secondary was formed: a new definition. "THE LORE" was placed above all other things, and now a simpleton who only played vidya could now read second-rate pulp novels and start claiming to "UNDERSTAND BETTER" than the primaries despite having never opened a rulebook of codex. And so a second wave of "literary" secondaries who didn't even play Dawn of War were birthed, who worshipped "THE LORE."

And so the post was too long, and split into two.

>>97307925
GW is retarded and doesn't know what to do with the only popular character the Eldar have, water is wet.
>>
>>97308051
Those secondaries who did not undergo this transformation remained in their place, and so became the first tertiaries.

And behind closed doors, some secondaries began to scheme.

"What if I buy sourcebooks, read their contents into a microphone, insert some headcanon, and then upload the recording to Youtube? I could make shitloads of money!"

And so loretubers, the wretched things, were birthed. And so unending waves of secondaries were spawned from this, and as more vidya games were released, more tertiaries would begin to appear, who would become secondaries due to the loretubers, and so their voices became ever louder, until the voices of the primaries were drowned out, and Warhammer 40,000 as a franchise became a massive game of telephone.

Many primaries were appalled by this development, for now secondaries were invading their spaces, saying the most retarded shit imaginable and killing everyone's brain cells. Something had to be done. But what?

"Gatekeep!" they said. And so there was an attempt.

But the secondaries, despite their retardation, had an animal cunning. "Yes!" some secondaries said. "We should gatekeep! And keep watching loretubers, and never buy models, preserve THE LORE!" And so the effort to gatekeep out the secondaries failed, because the secondaries hijacked the movement and used it to get into arguments with other secondaries and tertiaries.

The overlords at GW, gazing from the peak of Barad-dûr (also known as Warhammer World), looked down upon their customers and non-customers like a scientist looks at a culture in a petri dish.

"Add female custodes."

And so the secondaries began to fight themselves.

A prophecy emerged. One that predicted the end of all secondaries. It says that GW will copyright strike the loretubers, and so the secondaries will shrivel and die.

And there would be peace.

All Necrons should be destroyers, necrons should seek to exterminate all life because that's cooler. They should also worship C'tan. Literally just bring back the 3e-4e necron lore but keep the talking necron lords with personalities, it's that simple.
>>
>>97308292
this is the gayest post in the thread so far
>>
>>97308287
No no no. I am sure it's at least returns the money spend on it. But judging by lack of any progress with their animation it doesn't seems like it makes huge impact on GW profits.
>>
>>97308292
That's really stupid. I like Destroyers because they're a fringe psycho cult. If they were the norm it would be boring.
>>
>>97308206
The Destroyer Curse isn't a virus. What the fuck? Its origins are a mystery, and it's often tied to existing mental damage in the afflicted Necrons.
TEEGEE GW is retconning things needlessly again.
>>
>>97308239
It seems like a pretty lightweight streaming service compared to Netflix etc, they don't have to pay for licensing rights or anything since most if not all content on WH+ is made in-house, and many people get it just for stuff like the legacy pdfs and exclusive yearly minis. In 2022 the WH+ subscriber base was 1/5 of the official Warhammer YT channel's subscriber base, so their cheap ass service is probably adding a little extra money to those quarterly reports, probably makes as much as or more than black library per month

>>
>>97308236
>>97308269
Flayers and destroyers are different things though?
Flayed ones are caused by the "flayer virus", which is speculated to exist because the Necrons shattered the c'tan known as Llandu'gor the Flayer, and the flayer virus is basically his final curse/punishment upon the necron for betraying and killing him.

I'm pretty sure that destroyers are not made by the same thing.

>>
>>97308304
The guy who made astartes made it all for free in his spare time, judging by the wildly varying animation quality on WH+ i'm pretty sure the animation costs for something like Astartes are just "lol, here's a paycheck, work on it somehow." I mean, they clearly have some kind of animation studio for some of their stuff, but it all seems pretty cheap by today's standards judging by the low quality (by professional standards) of stuff like their edition trailers, Tithes, etc

Copyright strike? That won't work, some loretuber will claim fair use and win because technically lore videos are fair use.

The better solution is to simply hire the loretubers as writers, have them sign an NDA that prevents them from discussing any aspect of 40k lore publicly for like, 10 years, then immediately fire them before they do ANYTHING using some sort of jew clause in their hiring contract's fine print. But they gotta do it all at the same time, otherwise the first one fired will blab

He's not wrong. Eldar have never been involved in significant campaigns outside of exceedingly minor roles. The only time before the Ynnari that Eldar were important was Eldrad sacrificing himself to stop the Blackstone Fortress in the original 13th Black Crusade, which was entirely retconned with the new version of events.
Literally the only major contribution Eldar have made to the modern age of 40k is reviving Guilliman, and even then that probably was done by the Emperor instead of Ynnead.

Orcs were amazing, but forcing average humans wear cosplay armor of Alliance footmen was a mistake since Metzen made humans with unrealistic proportions as well and their armor was design around this heroic/capeshit-scale.

They genuinely need to redesign shit for that style of animation/live action if they want it the designs to work. They also slightly redesigned the proportions of the primaris marines in the secret level animation that has a similar artstyle. But honestly marines are the ones who probably need the least touch-ups when it comes to design outside of proportions since despite the huge armor they're designed to be very posable and can work in a realistic looking setting, as proven by both Astartes and Secret Level. You just HAVE to make them CGI. A lot of other designs do look goofy in motion, though. Just look at any 40k game and you'll see what I mean.

But GW wants primarchs so everyone who dislikes them kinda just has to eat shit and deal with it it seems
>>
>>97307937
The Ctan one is very cool and will terrorize lower tables solely because it's 2 ctan, not because it's particularly strong. Probably 50/50 mid tables because it's a coin flip depending on event size. Then be 30% top tables due to dice. So overall 60% and necron get massive nerfs because most players are terrible(affectionate).

The Destroyer one is awesome and good. It might be 55% good in the right hands. Simple, effective, but requires a little planning. I'm going to try this one first.

People complain about tourney faggotry but that entire game is basically if you designed 40k solely around tournament play that can be done in under an hour.

>>97308404
The game has 2 fucking stats but just having accuracy and armor is not good enough for a game but oh no more stats would be too complex so instead of just having a health stat and 2 different stats for melee and shooting accuracy instead every fucking unit is bloated with a "tough" ability as a replacement for just having a health stat and "bad shot" or "good shot" abilities to give them different accuracy when shooting/melee. I think 40k is mainstream now given how it has risen in popularity thanks to vidya loretubers and Star Wars sequel trilogy making nerds look for a new ip to latch onto.

I mean it has always been mainstream for a miniature wargame*, it just got mainstream mainstream in the past five years due to COVID. Mainly in the sense that the hobby got substantially bigger and now most normies are aware of its existence and a lot might be into it from a "lore" perspective or played a video game or two. But otherwise, it's this:
No one who collects and plays 40k is a normie, but those who primarily collect and play 40k are normies by wargaming standards. It's the miniature wargaming (wargaming in general, really) equivalent of a vidya gamer who only plays Call of Duty, Madden, Fifa and Skyrim.

The only time 40k dipped in popularity was when GW was actively making decisions that hurt itself during 5e-7e, which also happens to be the duration of the 2008 recession. It actually briefly slipped to the #2 spot of most played wargames with #1 being xwing for a few years, then went right back to being #1 when 8th ed launched
>>
>>97309755
The only “banger” they’re really made was Diablo Immortal, which did actually capture the Chinese market so they’ll continue to exist for a very long time. It’s just that they haven’t made anything GOOD, everything else is spiraling down at differing speeds.
>>
>>97309742

The only thing that can make 40k become #2 is GW

More accurately, the niche is so small that all you will ever find in some communities is 40k players. I mean, I'm pretty sure there aren't guys who only play GW products running around going "I'm a wargamer," anon. That's like some guy calling himself a "hardcore gamer" and then you ask what games they play and they say "I play call of duty, sportsball and Skyrim: Buttfuck XL anniversary edition," like you said earlier. Pretty sure guys who play that aren't calling themselves gamers in the vidya scene, it's the same with 40k in the wargaming scene, or D&D in the ttrpg scene. They're basically containment areas, normie traps, whatever you wanna call them
>>
>>97309831
Post it then, I just looked it up and it said nothing of the sort
It said blizzard is still turning billions in net profit and that there are no reports of wow losing them money
>>
>>97309807
Idk but you can look up the charts from like 2015, I remember seeing that back then and it being used by people on this board to go "GW IS DEAD"
>>
>>97309831
How would wow be losing them money?
There are like 7 million active subscribers to wow, each paying between like 12-16$ a month? Running the servers dont cost that much lmfao
>>
>>97309831
>Nope! Their last public earnings report before being absorbed by ms

that was like 4 or 5 years ago, and the company has done a big turnaround since then. they posted their highest subscriber count to wow since the games peak of 11m during wrath, at 9m subs recently, and they've also quadrupled down on new free in game offerings to draw in players like free monthly cosmetics and player housing

you're running off of old information

they're also set to break into the wargaming market with starcraft in like a month or two and it looks really good. im not saying its going to dethrone 40k or anything, but if they dont totally botch the price point or production, i could see it being a stable shelf product for a while. the only problem is that you cant really add new armies to the game since the IP is centered around the existing 3, and 3s a pretty small number for army choices for a wargame

Wasn’t there a business relationship between gw and blizzard at one time long ago?
I thought it was between warhammer fantasy and the first Warcraft.
But I wouldn’t mind being wrong about that and it instead was StarCraft and warhammer 40k.

Either way I prefer the StarCraft Terran marine suit up animation over the ultramarine primaris marine suit up animation video put out by gw.

I still found the StarCraft marine suit up animation too busy in detailing but I still liked it over the 40k suit up animation as the 40k one is too simplistic.

i dont doubt that both brood war and SC2 era units are on the table, and you do have some splinter factions here and there like the tal'darim of alarak or nerazim dark templar, you have the various zerg strains, and of course the different human planetary and rebellion armies, but as far as the game was ever concerned they all more or less used the same unit rosters as their parent army, so i think they would struggle to actually pull a whole army out of it, and you might get something closer to the star wars tabletop game where you have a small selection of armies, but a large selection of special named characters who change the way the army plays. that would be one way they could do it.

but i think im still looking forward to it because in addition to its own merits, its gonna offer some probably pretty good conversion fodder for like tyranids, imperial guard, maybe votann. some of the protoss vehicles could make for cool eldar conversions.

all of that with the big caveat that the models are acutally good model kits, and not made out of that shitty cheapo terrible rubber-plastic that so many board games use for their miniatures.

i remember i bought into the HATE kickstarter and the minis were made out of that shit and it was an absolute nightmare to work with. warped to hell and even heat bending the parts back wouldnt stay straightened and just reverted to the warped shape, mould lines that just turned to eraser shavings and crumbles when you try to scrape them, leaving horrible texture on the model, gummy material that doesnt cut for shit with a knife.

just awful. and the promo shots being colored plastic is not a great sign
>>
>>97309807
The website ICV2 used to do surveys across a lot of LGS and publish the results. It obviously has a lot of problems in accuracy, like the fact that it doesn't count miniatures sold though the GW website, but in the past was used as an indicator of relative popularity.

Between Khalai, Tal'darim, Purifiers and Nerazim they have 4 Protoss factions along to work with in terms of aesthetics and units and they've already combined the first 3 as getting fully fledged factions in which you can play them together as the Daelaam or individually as their own faction with new abilities and buffs.
It's no different really than having Craftworlders and Commorraghites as their own armies.

Then it's only a matter of time until your LGS is targeted for owner removal by GW. Prepare for a few calls to be made by Kevin Rountree, followed by your LGS's sales tanking across the board and your LGS getting sold to a new owner who conveniently doesn't allow non-GW or non-hasbro products to be played in-store.

Kabal of the Storied Blade.
Led by a Wych-turned Archon who had to flee her Cult after becoming too popular with the crowds and becoming a threat to her superiors the Storied Blade are a Kabal influenced by the Wych Cult roots leading to a love and mastery of close combat.
They're a decently powerful Kabal who have remained on the side-lines for most of their existence, actively avoiding taking part in any major conflicts but always eager to take advantage of any opportunities created by said conflicts.
Recently this has changed however, Archon Arkra returned to the Kabal after being missing for several months following a failed raid upon an Exodite world with a new, mad zealotry burning in her eyes. Those who did not embrace her new faith within the Kabal swiftly vanished, and new trophies were added to the spikes adorning the walls of her fortress-spire.
These days, Ynnari operating within Commorragh who find themselves cornered or pursued by Vects warriors often find themselves rescued by Kabalites clad in the red and silver of the Storied Blade who sweep in, slaughter Vect's minions and vanish just as quickly before any can thank them, or note their presence.
Several Corsair ships have recently been sighted within Storied Blade territory, and Arkra has almost bankrupted her Kabal in order to acquire an army's worth of vessels and equipment.
Some within the Kabal say she is planning to depart the Dark City soon, to stride out into the galaxy and serve more directly in Ynneads glorious crusade.

Ridvan "Skari" Martinez? Yeah, I think he was the second ranked player in the world for a short while last year and he's one of like a dozen faction specialists who still play Dark Eldar so he accounts for a pretty significant portion of their wins on weekends he plays.

>There's nothing wrong with greeting people, talking to strangers, or showing interest in what others are doing

this is all terrifying. what the fuck this is like a horror movie scenario

Works every time. You don't even have to be good at socializing, just say some random reactive bullshit and people will automatically assume you're there to cut up with them

This is how I imagine walking into an LGS would go if you were new.

>hey
>hey man, you play 40k?
>no man but I want to
>lol okay get the fuck out and come back with some painted minis lmfao
>>
Literally if you walk up and say you are retarded they will be nice to you and involve you. What the fuck could be easier than walking up to strangers and saying 'im a retard, this looks cool'.
>>
>>97310596
Maybe if the LGS was populated exclusively by /40kg/ but in the real world people will just be like “oh thats cool man yeah feel free to watch if you want and see if you like how the game plays. Im playing X he’s playing Y so im a shooty army and he’s more melee blah blah”
>>
>>97310596
I have seen some LGS where they behaved vaguely similarly. Not a single one fo them survived two years.
>>

In my case neither (I live in one of the biggest cities in the world). I walked in and they literally said hey, we can see you like the hobby, play whatever army you want and we have a dozen tables downstares go ahead and enjoy yourself. Then I went downstairs and there were fucking titans and knights and regiments and I was awestruck. I didn't even play because I was too spazzed, but I was like holy fuck these people are just on a different level than me.
>>
one time I was in my college LGS for an 8th edition teaching gameday offering tutorial games with the new starter set back in 2017. these guys entered and I was like "you ready??" and one went "yeah" and I went "oh okay you playing death guard or ultramarines?" and explain how each plays and the guy looked at me for a second then said "oh I thought you were talking about D&D." he then pointed at the empty d&d table over yonder.
I wanted to kill myself immediately

I'm glad this shithole I live in doesn't even have an LGS so I can paint my minis in peace without ever feeling guilty for not playing with them

Have they ever seen your models? If any have shown any interest, paint a combat patrol worth of some other army and bully them into trying a game some time.

>The Coal Hearts are a Loyalist Space Marine Chapter operating primarily within the Lucium Sector of Segmentum Obscurus, a volatile region bordering the Ghoul Stars and riven by xenos incursions, heretical uprisings, and warp instability in the wake of the Great Rift. Founded in the closing years of M35 amid the turbulence of the Age of Apostasy and Nova Terra Interregnum, the Chapter was shaped as much by ideological fracture as by external threat. From their earliest days, the Coal Hearts developed an austere, inwardly focused culture defined by discipline, endurance, and doctrinal certainty.
>The Chapter is closely bound to Forge World Tejana, whose patronage and ideological influence were instrumental in the Coal Hearts’ founding and survival. This alliance fostered the development of the Lucis Technica, a syncretic faith blending the Imperial Creed with Mechanicus metaphysics. Within this doctrine, the Emperor is venerated as the Starbinder, the divine author of ordered reality. Chaos is rejected not as a rival faith but as a fundamental lie, its daemons viewed as parasitic manifestations sustained by fear, excess, and surrender rather than true divinity.
>Militarily, the Coal Hearts specialize in void warfare and boarding actions, a necessity born of centuries fighting in the confined, lightless theaters of derelict fleets, space hulks, and orbital infrastructure. Their doctrine favors heavily armored assault, overwhelming close range firepower, and methodical annihilation of enemy strongpoints. Boarding squads operate in compact formations supported by auspex sweeps and swarms of bonded servo skulls, known as Stargiven Vigilants, Breaching charges, sudden assaults, disciplined flamer and melta use, and relentless faith are their hallmarks. Their wargear is often reinforced and pragmatically modified, prioritizing resilience and function over ornamentation.

I’ve got like 40K words on them, this is the most summarized I can manage. 1/2

National level? No, but very good and have meta lists. They eat sleep breathe comp 40k but only withing day trip range. I'm good enough to be the best in my group and go 2-1 or 3-0 occasionally but these guys are definition sweaty.
>>
>>97310928
Yeah and they even liked them. They all have families and kids now though so I doubt they'd have the time to get into such a timesink hobby. Plus as I've said they're all normies, There's only one I can even imagine being interested in this stuff
