Yes. They use servos and shit to mimic doing it with cables to mimic doing it directly. There's a million behind the scenes videos out there and it's a nice rabbit hole to go down.

Having thought it over, I did. I always enjoy quality puppetry, the song was catchy (if a bit cheesy, but that's what you expect), and real care obviously went into the production. I may not like the direction Magic is currently going, but the fact that this even happened is indicative that there's at least someone there who cares. Which is a nice little candle in the darkness.
