Thread title.Did anyone actually use them? I picked them up for like, $5 at a church sale recently. I'm curious if they're
>>97315745Ffffffuck, I meant to say: I'm curious if they're any good, and if anyone's tried using them before.
>tell me about books I already own because I'm too lazy to look at them myself
>>97315745There were some books about d2? Never seen or heard any.
>>97315745>>97315751They're literally D&D 3.5 with a Diablo veneer. Exactly the same as the WoW RPGs. They're as good as your opinion of the base game and don't do a great job at actually feeling like Diablo or WoW.
>>97316047To my own threadbare knowledge, the Diablo II ones go to the trouble of implementing a rough analogue of the item affix system.
>>97315745I would also like to know if they're
>>97315745Which edition did you get?There's diablo sourcebooks for AD&D 2e and D&D3e
>>97315745>you can buy cheap satanist ritual textbooks at your local churchHow low we've fallen.
>>97316951I got a bunch of Judas Priest albums at a local church sale once.
>>97315972kek
>>97315745>I'm curious if they're any good, and if anyone's tried using them before.I skimmed them and basically they're not very interesting unless you and your group are huge fans of both 3.5 and diablo 2. I kept the scan of To Hell and Back in case I wanted to use some of the maps or statblocks in the future, though they're not particularly good.Kind of a cool piece of history, though, so if they were literally $5 I'd maybe grab the physical copies myself.
>>97316047>D&D 3.5Did they do those for 3.x? I thought that they were for 2e.
>>97315745>Amazon was a hot warrior lady in D2 art in the late 90s throughout the 2010s>Amazon is a post-wall Karen in D2 ResurrectedWhat went wrong?
>>97318284Ugly women in power got jealous. Tale old as history.
>>97315745>>97317065>I kept the scan of To Hell and Back in case I wanted to use some of the maps or statblocks in the future, though they're not particularly goodbasically this, they're not particularly good d&d products but maybe you can adapt some of the stuff in there to throw at your players just for the fun of it. Some of the monster stats can be fun but the d&d books have other stuff that's just better; fallen are just goblins with a fiend template and shamans that can cast fireball and a special kind of true resurrection that only works on them, for instance. Gimmicky things and such.Playing Diablo as an actual ttrpg just not worth it; it's better to just play the actual game.
>>97318244>I thought that they were for 2e.The first couple were for 2e.>>97316047>They're literally D&D 3.5They're literally not. The last one came out in 2001 for 3.0, two years before 3.5 was released
>>97315745>I'm curious if they'reIf they're not then what do you think you picked up?
>>97318317Yes, the tale of your love of penises is old as time itself.
>>97315972And be prompt about it, if you want to live to see your next birthday.

>>97318317It keeps happening.
>>97319217not an argument, foid
>>97315985Yes, for AD&D and D&D. I know some people will cry but here's a Reddit link with a lot of pics, not going to copy and paste all of themhttps://www.reddit.com/r/diablo2/comments/1m01ohw/found_this_honestly_had_no_idea_these_existed/
>>97315751>I'm curious if they're any goodHave you tried[TRIGGER WARNING, SENSITIVE PEOPLE PLEASE STOP READING NOW!]reading them?
>>97328949You can't tell if it's good by reading it, you only know by playing it.
Does the tabletop accurately capture the feel of needing to level Sorceress first so she can grind for the other classes because fuck balancing everybody properly?
>>97319205My mistake, I remembered them being a bit newer. My point still stands, they're garbage at emulating Diablo or WoW.
>>97322870I was not replying to one, retard
>>97330148Not an argument either, faggot
>>97333848Sorry that you can't read, retard but that a you problem.
>>97334086>that a youESL
I completely forgot this existed. Man, D&D used to have a ton of different campaign settings back in the day. I remember being tempted to buy into this and Birthright.
>>97334241Good job finding yourself retard.
>no uHahahahahaha
>>97329441I can only speak to the 2e boxed set version, but it is very different from the computer game. For instance, the barbarian can get Whirlwind at level 1, which lets you spend 4 mana to get three attacks in a round; this makes sense as far as AD&D 2e rules go, because if they're already high level warriors, they won't need special powers to multiattack. As for the sorcereress, charged bolt did 3d4 for 5 mana, firebolt was ad4+2 for 2 mana, fireball was 2d8+8 for 12... keep in mind, at level 1, the sorceress only had 12 mana.(The amazon could actually attack four times with jab, with a bonus to hit, for 5 mana. And Paladins with Zeal? you might as well be going SSJ for how low key AD&D could be with damage.)
>>97315745I remember being 13-14 and having a massive horny crush on Amazon and Sorceress. They were the subject of many a teenage fantasy daydream.
