Is there a single creature more KEKED in the entire grand history of tabletop roleplaying (and the fantasy genre) than the dragon? They EXIST to be killed, overcome and generally bullied. You can make them divine creatures who are an aspect of celestial multiversial mechanics or just dumb beasts that live in the wild and it makes almost zero difference because their only purpose is to get the shit beaten out of them. And if you're the sort of DM who actually portrays them as being so far superior to the players that victory is literally impossible, they get fucking pissed at you and your game gets derailed, because everyone knows you HAVE TO KILL THE DRAGON. You're better off not having dragons at all.

Of course there is. It's called Gohan.

God I fucking hate Gohan.
>>
you've made this thread before and it died off for a reason.

>>97322359
lol someone got tpkd by a dragon as a child.

Could you not say this about "BBEGs" in general? Whether they're dark lords, liches, evil emperors, chaotic fighters looking for maximum blood and glory. As long as you're within tropey heroic fantasy villains are generally there to be defeated.

Do you think dragons can only be evil in a genre revolving around imagining whatever you want?
Any issue you have isn't going to come down to an individual creature or concept, it's going to come from how it is used.
It's a personal issue, not a universal one.

>And if you're the sort of DM
Oh you're one of those retards who think only one game exists. So of course you think the way that one game does them is the only way they're done.

regular bad guys usually have some kind of pathos even it's just muahahaha i'm evil. Dragons either don't even talk or when they do 99% of the time it's to gloat how superior they are to humans who then beat their ass.

This is a non-topic shitpost thread
It doesnt make sense because it has no reason to, it is intentionally incoherent to waste your time
Hope this helps
>>
Just play shadowrun and get constantly screwed over by dragons who don't even know you exist
>>
Yeah, dragons are major fantasy jobbers. Even if they are good or neutral, they still get btfo often to show a guy is strong or w/e.

>villains are generally there to be defeated.
The games you guys play must be so fucking boring. I like to let the characters themselves discover the story without my help. If the villains struggle for survival and power is more overwhelming than the heroes ability to stop him, I won't prevent it.

Goblins.
Evil, scheming monsters of the dark, downgraded into fleshlights.

Onore, Ryou Fuu Setsujin!

If you went to look at the amount of fantasy RPG groups that have ever organized a game and compared it to the amount of dragons they bested without suffering severe consequences, the number would be something like 1 dragon slaying group for every 60 that existed. Most don't get that far. The dragon remains an ellusive, powerful and non-cucked force as a result.
>>
>>97322359
First, that's how it was in almost all mythology
Second, it's a game; the point is to have fun. Dragons are always used because they're fun.
>>
>>97322359
Sounds like someone got his Prius fucked by a dragon.
>>
>>97323535
Present his stat block and backstory then
>>
Lets cut to the chase here how many of you guys actually played a game where the bard really did fuck the dragon?
>>
>>97330562
lol, that never happened. It's a classic Reddit meme; the joke existed before it actually happened and influenced how people behave.
>>
>>97330494
I do. Ttrpgs are games to be cheesed if necessary, not railroaded movie scripts.
>>
>>97322359
Tell us where the dragon touched you.

>haha can you fucking believe in my fellow gamers™?
>they put monsters in this game that you're supposed to fight and kill
>lol lmao kekkaroo
>this is so funny to us gamers™ who play games
>just think about it!
>they wrote all this stuff about this monster and then players just kill them!
>O I AM LAFFIN
>as someone who plays many games and knows what games are like, I can tell you this leads to many humorous situations!
