First Order of the Stick of the new year is up.
>>97323167Interesting that Sereni is also fine. Is this the first confirmation that she's Evil?
>>97323167Why didn't he just say he was sent by the leaders of hell? Why specify a deity?
>>97323167What does Blasphemy do?
>>97323167Why is Belkar glowing gold? I feel like I missed a step.
>>97323192https://www.d20srd.org/srd/spells/blasphemy.htm>Any nonevil creature within the area of a blasphemy spell suffers the following ill effects.>Hit Dice: Effect>Equal to caster level: Dazed>Up to caster level -1: Weakened, dazed>Up to caster level -5: Paralyzed, weakened, dazed>Up to caster level -10: Killed, paralyzed, weakened, dazed>The effects are cumulative and concurrent. No saving throw is allowed against these effects. Creatures whose Hit Dice exceed your caster level are unaffected by blasphemy.
>>97323234It's the protection from evil brooch he got some time ago>>97323177Maybe Sereni has something like that too?
>>97323243Surely, then, it should always be active, trying to protect him from himself?
>>97323177Nah, she's just high level >>97323181V knows about the IFCC, and Sabine knows V knows. The two of them would've discussed a cover story beforehand and realized that one wouldn't work.
>>97323177Apparently Blasphemy works against neutrals too >>97323242>>97323249It's manually activated, which he does before encounters where he might need it. Hurts himself too
HOLD ON DID SOMETHING ACTUALLY HAPPEN IN THIS DAMN COMIC
>>97323234Put on his ring of Protection from Evil (which hurts him a bit).>>97323177She is probably epic level (I think all the Order of the Snarl were), Blasphemy apparently only affects below the caster's level - and regardless of whichever ability the IFCC bestowed on Nale that let him cast it, he's not been boosted THAT highhttps://www.d20srd.org/srd/spells/blasphemy.htmAlso a nice mirror to how the fight that led to Nale's death started
Oh shit did you guys see this.
>>97323167Love how even after all this time, Nale's still terrible at sticking to a cover story when gently prodded.
>>97323292Isn't Dark Sun problematic.
>>97323333Only if you are listening to consultants that do not understand your IP like WotC is.
>>97323333Not really? Ecological alarmism had to take back seat during covid, but it's trending again.
>>97323292But I HATE sand
>>97323409The Eco stuff isn't what is considered problematic about the setting. Any depiction of slavery (even those that are negative and meant to be opposed) is considered "problematic" by SJWs and causes them to chimp out.
Surprised how quiet Thog is this comic
>>97323525>BLAHThat's a good punchline.
>>97323167>Furthermore, if you are on your home plane when you cast this spell, nonevil extraplanar creatures within the area are instantly banished back to their home planes. Creatures so banished cannot return for at least 24 hours. This effect takes place regardless of whether the creatures hear the blasphemy. The banishment effect allows a Will save (at a -4 penalty) to negate. Is there a chance the Counting Elemental got hit by it?
>>97324096>Range: 40 ft
>>97323292Anyone got the PDF?
>>97324113Yes, I have no idea about geometry of where is who, relative to each other.
>>97324130Last we saw Xykon et. al. were still going through the actual tunnels and didn't have enough butthole tattoos to get backstage, which is where everyone else is.
>>97323167Any magic player knows that black is actually a purple. Just check Liliana's dress.
>>97324296
>>97323525Oh wow, an actual summary, not just peepee joke.
Games?
the cat is dead, right? also why does Minrah not have a mirror image like the rest who were affected?
>>97324517>the cat is dead, rightAw shit, has to be.
>>97324517I hadn't thought about that. Given that ranger animal companions only get half as many hit dice compared to a druid, it's very possible. I thought Minrah might be low enough level to be stone dead as well but Mr. Scruffy has a mirror image so it's probably something that we'll find out about in a week or seven.
>>97324517Nah, it'll get off with some bullshit about how's it's somehow not 10 levels below Nale if >>97323242 is what they're going by.Or maybe it's just evil.
>>97323167This whole Nale thing we've been doing for the last ten months feels like a waste of time if it just led to them fighting again.
>>97324424yes? what about them?
>>97324424D&D 3.5Idiot.
>>97324827Retard.
>>97323333It's mad max except magic warps reality and cities are ran by wizard kings. There's also a regular amount of half-dwarves, bug people, and psychics.
>>97323292anybody got the pdf?
>>97323167I thought the colors of divine magic are not really a secret?not like every peasant knows about it, but it hadn't struck me as some super privileged information either
>>97326317Those are some of the highest-level clerics of every god, in the entire world, at a secret cleric conference. Certainly Durkon et al aren't the only ones to know about quiddity but they know more about it than damn near every other mortal at this point.
>>97326317Nale's also written as generally not being interested in knowledge that doesn't directly benefit him, Sabine likely stays away from most clerics on principle, and Thog is Thog. Even then, most people think there are only three pantheons of gods to choose from, so the fact Nale refused to namedrop any of them was already a major giveaway he wasn't telling them the full story. He was basically asked the equivalent of "Which cardinal direction" on a compass only marked for North, South, and East, and Nale guessed "Weast".
>>97323292until somebody posts it one of these threads i will not be reading it.
>>97323525>I shouldn't have stabbed you, impudent being. This is the most Nale dialogue to ever come from a Thog.
upscale.
>>97323167Metal last panel
>>97324096Would the Material count as Nale's homeplane? I'd rule no due to his transformation/rebirth being on the abyss, but the ruling is probably fickle.
so no surprise round, and the only one who beat nale's initiative is haley? How... unlucky.
>>97326317The fiends speak in black balloons with colored textGods themselves (and angels for sum reyson, alignmentist) speak in colored balloons and black/white text
>>97323167Whole lot of magic happening for a group of people standing in front of a Beholder.
>>97327268What do double images signify?
>>97327371>2005Jesus Christ
>>97323329That was a fine bluff on Nale's part, the Order just had info he wasn't privy to.
>>97323450I don't know about you, but the SJW types in my group don't flip out because bad shit exists in a setting. Sometimes we put that kind of shit there there on purpose so we can explore the reality of it while we also enjoy the fantasy of toppling it.
>>97327287It's not his transformation that's the problem, it's that he died. He's an extraplanar manifestation of his own soul now, belonging to the plane where he went for his afterlife. He wasn't resurrected, he was summoned. His home plane is the Nine Hells now. Has been since Tarquin ganked him and let him bleed out in the sane.
>>97327455You remember that said beholder wears a special contact lens that stops him from accidentally anti-magicking things that he's not supposed to, right? His eye color on the page is an indicator for whether he's using it or not.Page 1253, for reference.
>>97323177She might be. But she might have magic protection. Or maybe that troll flesh that's grown onto her "counts" as her pinging as evil for the purposes of the spell.
>>97323292Buy an ad.
>>97327559Well it's a reference to this strip >>97323284As to what it meant in that strip it's just a stylish way of showing a forceful "impact" of sorts, could have drawn several panels depicting everyone getting overwhelmed by evil (or good) energy but having it in one panel makes it have more emphasis. Maybe it's trying to show how it feels to get your soul hurt.
>>97323292mmm, dim sum...
>>97323292>announced in 2012, released in december 2025>25 pageslmao
>>97328725Classic, really
>>97328060>You remember>page 1253NTA, but I didn't remember that. It's been 3+ years, and I haven't reread the comic in even longer.
>>97328085She's too high level to be affected, Nale is probably not casting at an Epic level.
>>97323167Great page, wish this was the normal pace.
>>97323167Nale could've salvaged that by saying he can't give any hint or information about his sponsor, instead of guessing.
>>97328035TBF the SJW types you know aren't sensitivity readers who need to find something wrong to justify their paychecks.
>>97323333>hrmm why is everyone evil and slavery is everywhere surely this means I must play an evil guy!>never occours to defy and defeat the whole setting as a savior figurethe limits of liberlism
Most likely results is that V gets taken out by the IFCC for three minutes, Thog dies, and Nale/Sabine retreat to strike again later. What would really be interesting is to see the two of them attempt to ally with Xykon and Redcloak after running off their their tails between their legs.
>>97328085If it was a flesh/race thing, Sunny wouldn't have been affected.
>>97328285Thanks, anon.My initial thought was that it represented one's soul being yanked out of the body.
>>97330461You see, trying to save the people means you're too much of a bigot to believe in the people to be able to save themselves.
>>97329285That's when it was introduced, but it came up as a factor again when they were fighting the dragon Calder. The anti-magic cone shows up on 1298 during that fight and is active for three pages until Sunny gets knocked out. Then we see him with his contact lens in again nine pages later, which is slightly less than 30 pages ago.New pages come slowly in real time, but in the grand scheme of the story, it wasn't very long ago at all.
