>A New Warhammer World is coming to the USA!>...just outside D.C.https://www.warhammer-community.com/en-gb/articles/u6jqjmvz/a-warhammer-world-in-the-usa-get-the-details-here/
>>97329534I misread that as inside Washington D.C. and immediately thought this is actually what Trump was making space for in the East Wing.
On the plus side, my Secret Santa was from D.C. Congrats dude, hope your wallet survives
Makes sense. While they're no longer there, the US division of Games Workshop used to have their HQ in Glen Burnie, MD as well as the Battle Bunker.Hell, I think the old Battle Bunker location might be available. I don't think anyone moved in after Dropzone closed.
>>97329851Yeah I'm real curious where this'll wind up. I'd guess somewhere in Maryland, but Montgomery County is probably too expensive, so maybe a trip back to Anne Arundel? Hopefully not PG.It's been funny seeing all the pearl clutching from those faggots over at Dakka Dakka though. They think it's unsafe because of Trump, not even realizing the uh, "demographic" make up of Maryland inside the beltway.
>>97329911Glen Burnie was a legacy location from when GW imported all of their product through Port of Baltimore and handled distribution to all of North America out of their warehouse there. It outlived its usefulness when central distribution moved to Memphis and only lingered on long enough for the GWNA corporate offices to move to Dallas. The Maryland stores have all historically underperformed while Springfield/Tower Center and Fairfax/Pender Village in northern Virginia have consistently been among the top performing locations by sales. I would be shocked if they don't keep it south of the river, most likely somewhere in Loudoun.
>>97329698It's crazy that the White House doesn't have a room for events. For two centuries they've been putting chairs outside or renting venues.
>>97329911Montgomery county is weird because it's expensive to set up there as a business, but it's also where the money is.Also I'm not going to lie, part of me wishes it's in Montgomery simply because it means I don't have to go to fucking Dream Wizards.
>>97330065What's crazy is that people pretend to value the historical significance of the East Wing when it was just a shitty office space connected by a colonnade.
>>97329911Hell, if GW was smart they'd be pushing Tau and Adeptus Titanicus aggressively down there considering the respectable following Gundam has in the Black community.
>>97329698One day we'll get our first /tg/ president, just hope hes not into trading cards.
You know what? That's actually not a terrible idea. That area has a big military presence and a lot of wargaming fans are current of former service members. Of course, Warhammer stuff hasn't really been taken seriously by the real grogs for ages, so it could turn out to be another pointless boondoggle.
>>97330174GW is too expensive for people not in the middle class, which most minorities around DC most certainly aren't.Plus blacks fucking turn on their own for doing the slightest shit seen as 'white people shit' and it doesn't get much whiter than fucking wargaming.
>>97330231It's still a fucking drive from Norfolk or Fort Lee; the 'military population' in and around DC is boomer Officers and NCOs, not the young enlisted and junior officers that do this hobby.
Shame it's on the east coast. As a Canadian in the West, it might even be cheaper just to fly to the UK.
>>97331405Please do, we don't want you.
>>97330158They got that bunker under it
>>97330158What's especially funny is that it's the same people who laughed and cheered when historical statues were getting torn down, now they pretend to care about the historical significance of an outbuilding that is younger than most sitting members of Congress
>>97331405Do not fly to go see Warhammer world lmao. When I (American) was on a business trip to London I took a day trip up to Nottingham to see an old mistress of mine and I stopped at Warhammer World while she was at work so I could give an excuse to my wife why I was up there. It was really lame and much smaller than you'd expect. Some of the dioramas were cool but really it was pretty underwhelming. It's sad that even the AoS dioramas were more impressive than the 40k ones, and the other visitors were all freaks
>>97333285And Bugman's is overpriced,
>>97330158I don't really care about the destruction of the East Wing. What bothers me about the project is that the expansion is going to be nearly twice the size of the actual White House, creating a bizarre L-shaped building that completely violates all the principles of symmetry and proportion that define the classical architectural style.
>>97330065Whats crazy is to think that it's ok for governments to have 'events'.
>>97330158The real problem is that, since the White House is a building managed by the US government, there are a lot of rules about what you can and can't do with it. And, regardless of whether you think the reasoning is good, those rules are being actively violated for the sake of this rennovation.
No wishing death on america? Already better than the reddit threads about this lmao
>>97333681The existing East and West Wings aren't even remotely symmetrical. They're both afterthoughts added on by subsequent administrations, and they only superficially mimic the architectural style of the executive mansion.
>>97333731Why is that a problem? Why should I respect those rules?
>>97334774Because you don't want a government that doesn't follow its own laws and regulations? What kind of paste-eating fucking question even is this.
>>97335451>Because you don't want a government that doesn't follow its own laws and regulations? Oh, you mean like every government ever? That's why we have a Supreme Court, you mouth-breathing poltroon.
>>97335451But what it was doing while following those rules and regulations wasn't ever good. In fact most of the rules and regulations seemed to be stopping it from doing anything good.
>>97335451How did you go from being punk rock to this embarrassing useless red rape bullshit
