I actually really, really liked the arc with Kagetsu's story and Akina's Mythisch being out of reach all season until he decides what he wants. That plot weaved the supernatural and slice of life together in a clever way that reminded me a lot of early Vanguard.

That part was cool, the problem was the tournament structure for two seasons. Season would've worked better as ironically something closer to ODS1 and just do character drama and fights without end of the world stuff/magic for 13 episodes
