I need a new GOOD fantasy race to base a campaign region around.
>>97335858pick a creature that isnt typically in a european or famous country
Elrk
>>97335858Harengon, Kenku, Lizardfolk.
>>97335858>new GOOD fantasy raceThe non-faggot OP.
>>97335858Dwelf
Insectoids, there's bazillions of them to pick from.BeetlesAntsCentipedes
>>97335858Green Martians
>>97335858human but not evil, unlike real humans
>>97335927Only two of those are insects
>>97335858Northern-men.They are a variant of the tall-men, adapted to the cold and with a more barbaric and brutal culture.
>>97335858Lean into European myth from another angle, you'll find something.
>>97335858Blackmen, who are humans but have black skin.
>>97336163>Northern-men.They grew from Northern Boys.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b7Bj1dBMYBE
>>97335858Beastfolk a la Dwarf Fortress.
>>97335858Go full Redwall with mousefolk and the like
>>97335858Look at some science fiction races and pick one to have as a race that originates from a strange partMy favorite are the chimera from resistance fall of man, who make a decent choice of villains if you have them be the unstable gene edit freak creatures (just use magic for it) or you can take the traits of having multiple eyes, having an intense metabolism that requires eating a lot and cooling, and being scary looking
>>97336163>Northern-menNorsemen.
>>97335858Watch a few episodes of Samurai Jack and pick some random side/background characters
>>97335858Goblin girls.
Bullywugs don't get enough love.
>>97335858Go to an old sci-fi story, take one of the weird aliens from that, adapt it to your fantasy setting. Or just have em be changed little, as fantasy and sci-fi aren't really opposing settings and alien races come up often enough in many settings.
>>97335858Why not archaic humans, like neanderthals?
>>97336827Those are just basajaunak, anon.
>>97336230Umm, those weren't mythical.
>>97335858I'll steal a few from Dominions, one of my favorite fantasy settings:Caeleans, a race of winged humanoids who live on mountaintops, are highly resistant to cold, and forge armor and weapons out of enchanted magical ice.Enkidu, a race of demigiant primative humanoids with horns and unkempt hair, who live in a mostly pastoral society and have a history of being enslaved.Merrow, a race of primative green skinned, scaly amphibious humanoids, who live under the rule of their underwater elvish masters, who have taught them the secrets of bronzeworking. The Bandar, a caste based society of various species of ape-men, based primarily on Indian culture and religion.C'tissians, a race of swamp dwelling lizardmen with a similar culture to Ancient Egypt, who have mastered the secrets of necromancy and are strongly resistant to poison.Agarthans, a race of large pale skinned, one eyed humanoids who eat rocks, lack manual dexterity or an innate taste for violence, but are quite strong and capable of creating beautiful things. They live under the earth in great tunnel complexes and domesticate giant cave grubs and other strange fauna.Theres more detail I could add, and Dominions also has quite unique interpretations of traditional fantasy races, but this should be enough to get you thinking.
>>97337123Do you honestly expect me to believe that short people really existed, anon?
>>97337148Cynocephali and others were real. Don't believe their lies!
>>97337059They don't look like basedjaks
>>97335858Humans who have empathy and smarts.
>>97338286So, elves
>>97336012You're right, sorry, add spiders to the list.
>>97335858Why? You clearly have no inspiration if you have to ask us so what makes you think that a campaign about a fantasy race is something you need to do?
>>97336741>Norsemen.Mooseman
>>97335906Breaks suspension of disbelief immediately
>>97335858Snake people. Sneople, if you will.
>>97335927bugmen are much needed in fantasy tabeltop games. full on bugs, not a pussy footed human with bug antenna.
>>97336230This
>>97335858The Irish.
English football hooligans.
>>97338840
>>97338895I'm pretty sure you kill these things in Serious Sam.
To Isaac Asimov, this was an elf.
>>97335858Going off what >>97336230 suggested, what are more obscure beings, creatures, and entities from myths, legends, and folklore that might work as races besides the more common ones like centaurs, etc.? Some mythologies claim that primordial humans were once more powerful/different, I'd use the idea that some of those primordial humans managed to survive as a distinct race from modern humans, for instance.
>>97337059They look like woodwose.
>>97339573Isn't it only if you pirate the game?>>97336230>>97338895>>97339873I love me some Blemmies.
>>97336163Northern-women.
>>97335858We have a worldbuimding general newfag.
