eating a baby is wrong, but you should 100% eat the placenta.

picrel, Calvin Harris got lambasted for cooking and eating his kid's placenta. it seems 'icky' but it's basically a nutritional superfood, why wouldn't you?

Homelander is performing brit milah.
>>
>>97343420
You find out more about it in the comics. If you'll read them that is, The Boys show has steered drastically away from the comics.

But in short Homelander is still an absolute psycho he just doesnt have very big mother issues like show version does

oWoD had the back cover of the Tzimesce book and a Wraith splatbook about the Holocaust.

I feel like just making an unrelentingly bleak world isn't really truly dark because everyone knows better than to emotionally invest. The writers will be more edgy to compensate but quickly run into that wall of coming across as slapstick humor - eg any of the kills from the Terrifier movies.

>>97343436

The Lamentations art promises a historical horror game set in the pike and shot/wars of religion era and then you crack it open and it's another AD&D retroclone with elves, dwarves, armor etc. Just totally baffling to me.

It was Black Noir. Who in the comic is a clone of Homelander. Meant as a failsafe but way more insane than Homelander was.

>>97343501

Our LGS owner got a bunch of us to buy Delta Green and Kvlt books by saying they were banned in some countries. People always forget how edgy the 2000's were.

Ennis?
>>
>>97343420
Spoilers for a comic that's almost 15 years old:
Black Noir was cloned specifically to kill his twin brother Homelander if said brother ever went out of control, but he was only ever kind of a douchebag, so Black Noir slowly but surely went insane. He started dressing up as Homelander and committing every atrocity he could think of, including eating a baby and raping Billy Butcher's wife (producing a super fetus that destroyed her with laser vision and forced Butcher to abort it via lamp). The series climaxes with Black Noir taking his mask off in front of these two men, who both realize the truth at the same time as it is being exposited to the reader.

Nah. Nechronica has some... interesting guro illustration, but overall the only "obligatory" edginess is thinking over some parts (i.e. entrails and such).

My entry: Cthulhutech and its baby torture machine. Not rape machine, that is another snazzy gadget.

Violence deserves an honorary mention, even though.

>The Boys show has steered drastically away from the comics.
Because the comic is utterly abysmal. Top 10 worst comic of all time material
>>
>>97345296
The amount of seething in that book was so hilarious, I swear. I know it was meant to shit on murderhobo players, but some of the wording makes it seem like the author was outright crying tears of rage at points.
>>
>>97344326
>a Wraith splatbook about the Holocaust
>the Holocaust is explicitly the only historical event in the oWoD universe that was NOT the direct/indirect result of supernatural meddling
lol

it's weird because the elves, hobbits etc are almost there because they're 'standard', what little setting there is they're all DYING OUT and MORE GRIM THAN FAIRYTALES SUGGEST.

again it was just the best retroclone we had at the time (B/X Essentials and Old-School Essentials have effectively replaced it). but you might like some of the actual modules.

picrel is a 100+ page book about exploring 17th century Germany, with a sadistic witch and protestants. in fact a lot of adventures are set around the same time in historical Europe, with a few magic/horror elements. The God That Crawls gets recommended a lot. creepy horror adventure, mostly set in a church in England, 1630. no pixies wandering around.

>>97345329
It's hilarious how The Boys was always going to be the one comic adaptation that's better then the original because they literally would not be able to make it worse
>>
>>97343357
Garth Ennis is such a gigantic faggotron.
To keep this /tg/ related im also going also say RaHoWa

It was very well done, I thought. It was tasteful, even. We had a lot of fun with it.

>be clone of evil superman
>created solely to kill evil superman if he becomes a liability
>grow impatient with your life's purpose taking too long
>do lots of horrible shit (like eating a baby), photograph it, then send it to evil superman so he thinks he's tripping
>he gives up on his reputation and besieges the white house, thus finally providing an excuse to carry out your task
>>
>>97343357
That shitty one where everything is extra horrible and all you can do is pointlessly dig as deep as possible to get away from evil sun before you die horribly.

that stupid trend of "nega dungeons"

>you didn't want to get hacked to pieces by thousands of tiny magic blades while ravenous super-maggots gnaw away at your flesh?

Isn't GURPS Banestorm supposed to be super edgy?
