Why can't Druids wield bows? >bow: wood>arrow: wood>arrowhead: bone or flintEven crossbows can be made wholly of wood and shoot bone-tipped bolts. If anything, making these things actually requires very good understanding of trees and properties of wood. Regardless of all that, the whole non-metal theme is a meme. If you can cook stuff in a bronze cauldron, you should be allowed to use a bronze helmet too.
>>97361089>Why can't Druids wield bows?Because D&D is a shit game.
>>97361105Not D&D exclusive issue, they can't do it in The Dark Eye either.
Well traditionally bows are hunting weapons. A druid of races with natural affinity for bows can use them. Crossbows were weapons of war. The metal restriction is/was for armor and shields. They were going for a theme.
>>97361184>tfw you go into a dark dungeon in order to peacufully preach to its denizens about return to agrarianism which is the first step towards civilization meanwhille the creatures can barely speak
>>97361089>Why can't Druids wield bows?Training
>>97361089Since 5e all equipment restrictions have been dropped iirc. Authough they should be enforced for balance, since druid is a power class
>>97361200>the creatures can barely speakThank goodness for freal speech
Druids can get proficiency with bows, not only do you think there's only one game you don't even know the rules of that one.
>>97361089It implies he couldnt invest time in his profession.I guess he would become avranger who knows a little bit of nature magic?
>>97361089D&D "Druids" are a weird case.A lot of their magic spells are the sort of thing you find in Celtic myth; transforming into animals and enchantments of various sorts being the most common, and these ARE powers that are credited to powerful Druids like Mog Roith, the taboos about not using metal aren't really, and Druids are in society known more for astonomy, keeping calendars for planting and harvest time, and performing blessings and curses, as well as being the ultimate source of legal codes. In my honest opinion, "Druid" would be better off as a subclass of Cleric, thematically. Also, what's with the exception for Scimitars?Sehaine shit from D&D probably.
>>97361089Druids not being able to wield bows isn't a religious concern, it's a practical one. Druids don't lift so they never develop the strength to use one effectively. They instead just choose to transform into Bears skipping leg day at the gym.
