Looking for the Warcry 1st Ed PDFs
>>97363911>TQI fucking hate those Warcry-purgatory Spearhead boxes like you wouldn't believe. I miss the time when local equivalent of 50 britbucks was enough to buy you a 1/3 of a 2000pts army with up to 50 bucks of discount. Even compared with Vanguard boxes or early 4e Spearhead boxes this shit is simply underwhelming and scummy. Releasing starter boxes designed to not be purchasable multiple times when building an army on budget is terrible, especially when you consider how expensive these so-called starter boxes are.>BuT SpEaRhEaD BoXeS aRe NoT mEaNt tO bE PuRcHaSeD iN MuLtiPLe CoPiEsI don't care what shitty marketing spin GW is trying to pull of, Spearhead is a great game format and I enjoy it much but trying to use it as an excuse for cutting corners and greediness simply kills it.
>>97363993They were far from equal
>>97363993Man I wish that was the box that was cheap as fuck at that weird hobby shop by me. I'm sitll picking up those extra beastmen vanguards though....
>>97364051Just buy their TOW battalion instead, it comes with twice as much infantry for about 100EUR. You can always sell the square bases and buy cheap round ones on Aliexpress or trade them for round ones with someone if having plastic bases is important to you.
>>97364074Nah a weird hobby shop by where I grew up has like 4 of these for 50% off, so like 75 bucks a pop.
>>97363993Start collectings were really nice, the very first stormcast one is basically equivalent to the spearhead that's included in skaventide. The beastclaw raiders one is still the holy grail, holding out hope I find that one in the back of a store somewhere.
>>97364119I've given up on finding old start collectings, if I do somehow stores have priced them up and I never find them for that OG price.
>>97364119Wasn't it just the starter stuff in the wrong unit sizes or am I thinking of something else
>>97364137NTA but you are somewhat right. The only undersized unit in the Thunderstrike Brotherhood SC! box were 3 Retributors. Personally, what I did just recently was rounding out my ancient SCE half of the very first 2-player set with a "full" Stormcast Start Collecting box. Since these Liberators and Prosecutors are multi-part, I was able to build three Liberators with Great Weapons and two units of Prosecutors with a Great Weapon each. Retributors were a bit more tricky because you end up with two ETB Retributors-Prime but that's nothing that can't be fixed with a simple backpack swap and a leftover pauldron from the multipart kits.
>>97363993I miss the days when poorfags would just look at the hobby and walk away instead of orbiting the hobby spaces and wasting everyones time moaning about how it's everyone else's fault they work at nandos and can't afford the hobby.
OBR soon
>>97364312Protect the multi-million company harder Anon, they didn't fuck you in the ass hard enough while justifying it with greedflation it seems.
Do you think they're gonna take my horsie wagons?
>>97364374NTA but do you expect your bitching on a mongolian basket weaving forum to change GWs pricing policy or something? If you find it too expensive to justify the purchase just don't fucking buy it instead of throwing a tantrum lmao
>>97364361Imagine if he didn't suck.
>>97364399He was broken, that's why they nerfed him
>>97364411The annoying thing to me is having a thing be too good so it has to be punished by making it useless.
>>97364312When exactly would that have been? I've seen people online bitching about GW's prices since the nineties. Though I guess that does handily highlight how it has always been more about the bitching than the prices themselves.
>>97364374Keep orbiting the hobby spaces for things you've never participated in and claiming it's everyone else's fault. Surely GW will go out of their way for you and maybe make a line of prepainted funky pops for you to stare at on your shelf so you don't need to cry about the price of paint, brushes, game materials too!
>>97364383I get the complaints about pricing for 40k and ToW, but a 2k army in AoS usually isn't even that bad by comparison.Of course it depends on the army, but getting a $300 list of NIB stuff with some smart shopping isn't that crazy.
>>97364383>gaslighting>ad personamStay mad bucko, I bought my armies when GW's bundle boxes still made any sense both in terms of value and design. You don't have to throw a tantrum in public because of your sunk cost fallacy.
>>97364438>n-no YOU'RE the one that's madkek, try harder next time
>>973644201ed aos was perfect for scaring off the poorfags. SCs were 100cad which was 30cad more than a triple A video game so poorfags would always make claims that they could just buy an rpg for 30 dollars less and play that forever. These are real opinions I heard from multiple people all the way up to about mid 2nd when video games started creeping closer in price to the SC. Now the triple A video games are seen as bad investments for your money, and so the poorfags are more used to buying indie games on sale for 30$ or less and therefore more shocked when they start looking at the pricing of qdult hobbies
>>97364427>>97364438
>>97364438>I bought my armies when GW's bundle boxes still made any sense both in terms of value and designSo never
>>97364438>I bought my armies when GW's bundle boxesLiterally all you do is complain about people buying things. I can't possibly believe you've ever participated in anything requiring an investment
>>97364438you don't own any miniatures thoughbeit
>>97364496>archivefag is in /aosg/ tooI mean that guy is a tool yes but please keep your autism in /40kg/
I'm tired of poorfags and their sour grapes.Unemployed retards are what's killing /tg/, and always have been.I'm not going to apologize for having a real job and being able to spend $200 on my hobbies when I have the free time to participate in them.
>>97364496>archivefaggot
>>97364516>>97364554How many times are you gonna samefag his post today? 6 times? 7 times? Maybe you should just use new reaction images if you're going to melt when confronted with your previous comments
>>97364565Maybe you should realize that digging up someones posts is reddit nigger behavior. Retards like you are the reason 4chanx has a filename randomizer
>>97364496They hated him because he spoke the truthA huge part of the cancer killing /tg/ are the retards who have been gatekept from hobby and now spend their time screaming and shitting their pants while banging on the gates

>>97364496>archivefag in /aosg/ toolmao
>>97364574>inspect elementMaybe (you) should keep that shit in 40kg along with your poorfag moaning. There is functionally no difference between someone archive fagging and someone saying "hey, i remembered that you post this image when shitstirring all the time"
>>97364565>>97364583You still gotta learn about punctuation before you can samefag.
>>97364658>schizo copinglike clockwork
>>97364663Try again
>>97364658>someone archive faggingit's never just someone, it's always only you, that's the problem, you're the problem
Meds. Now
>>97364671surely such a thing wouldn't be possible!
>>97364658You'd think they'd realize throwing a diversionary meltdown in response to this would prove their guilt beyond any doubt, but they do it anyway.
I do remember buying SC boxes for £37.50 in 2016-2019 tbhon. Mostly things have just doubled in price over the years and ofc Warhammer is still my least expensive hobby by a country mile but inflation is just like 35% not 100% so you can't help but feel like you're getting scammed every year. Idk aside from GPUs I can't think of anything that's similarly been so abusively hiked year on year aside from housing
Threads off to a great start, boys. Friday can’t come soon enough.
>>97364689Looking forward to posting IT'S AN ARCANITE SWEEP!
>>97364684The current KO spearhead is the original Start Collecting with a different hero for literally double the price. It’s nuts.My favorite is that every time there’s a price hike there’s fucks coming out of the woodwork going “OI MATE ITS ONLEH A COPPOL MOR QUID, YE?”. Yeah only a couple more every year really adds up, though.
>>97364689It's second week of january, all the poorfags are ripe with seasonal depression and bills. Generally it's like this from Christmas to mid march every year
>>97364574So you've been posting garbage thinking anonymity would protect you from ever having to answer for it, and now you’re throwing a temper tantrum because it didn't.You know, you could make posts of some value instead, that'd be to your credit if someone went and dug them up. Or you could try at least.
>>97364709I'm not the poorfag that posted that shitty cope, I actually called him out on that. But looking up a random reaction image to look for some sort of gotcha on a anonymous imageboard is actually deranged. You should check out reddit if you want to know the entire post history of every person you're talking to.
>97364496>>97364565>97364583>>97364658>97364667>>97364671FUCK OFF FROM HERE AND GO BACK TO 40KG YOU MASSIVE FAGGOT PIECE OF SHIT, DON'T YOU FUCKING DARE TURN THIS THREAD INTO THAT SAME SHITHOLESHUT UP AND FUCK OFF
>>97364734Oh, so you weren't the one who got caught, you simply had a guilty conscience freakout on seeing someone else get caught. The advice still stands.
Would the faction terrain for SBGL’s be a no brainer if I wanted to go chaff heavy? I’m sitting on 20 old skeletons, and am in the process to paint twenty more for the new Spearhead. Was wondering if it’s a normal thing to actually get the faction terrain for AoS or if it’s just a neat thing to have.
>>97364734Hey look, it's a redditor trying to tell 4chan what's 4chan culture
>>97364684Now this was for 40k, but I remember seeing a post on reddit a year or two ago that compared mini prices over the years. They found that, with some exceptions, prices tended to actually stay UNDER inflation, which surprised me a lot. Things certainly feel more expensive, I guess it's down to the discount boxes being better deals back in the day, like the kharadron one another anon mentioned? Then again we're probably exhibiting some bias and only remembering the good ones. The seraphon SC was insane value for example.
>>97364801If I remember correctly it was Seraphon, FEC, Fyreslayers, and Ogors that were all essentially “buy the center piece and everything else is free”.
>>97364773>Was wondering if it’s a normal thing to actually get the faction terrain for AoS or if it’s just a neat thing to have.Varies by faction. For some having their terrain is a massive boon, for others it's a huge chunk of their deployment zone that gets blocked off for no good reason. Dunno where SBGL sits.
>>97364769>guilty conscience>on an anonymous websitekek>>97364793You found 4chan during covid, feel free to go back anytime. Here's your final (You), you can have the last word that you crave so desperately. I know you will keep shitting the thread up until the bitter end otherwise just like you do in /40kg/, you archivefagging sperg.
>>97364815Yeah the seraphon was doubly insane because you ALSO got a free foot hero with the carnosaur (could stretch it to two if you wanted to sacrifice a saurus body iirc) and if you really got creative came with the bits to build an extra troglodon out of the carno, had to make use of water effects and shit but I've seen a fair people do it over the years.Sylvaneth also came with the treelord, that thing has been in every damn sylvaneth discount box ever released.Oh, sidenote, apparently nighthaunt were called malignants when they were still a webstore microfaction prior to their reinvention for 2nd edition? Completely missed that.
>>97364312Hey man somebody’s got to man the nandos
Damn, the board is active but everyone is being lame. For what it's worth, Ive been on 4chin since Encyclopedia dramatica was relevant, and it's nothing to be proud of. It's like a pissing contest, except instead of seeing who can piss the furthest, it's to see who can shit their drawers the hardest.Anyway, post cool minis that you like.
>>97365012Idk I'm enjoying the start collecting talk.
>>97365031The best start collecting, as well as one full of cool minis I like, was Stormcast vanguard. This (the lion caped SCE) kit was the first time I looked at any Stormcast and said, Huh, some of you are alright.I also nabbed a BCR Sc! For 65 bucks in mid 2e, that was a pretty sweet pickup.
>>97364496>Literally all you do is complain about people buying thingsWhat I see here is me arguing that Visions were more soulful than some of the modern designs and lore and me laughing at WAACfags defending fully 2D Warmachine tables. Keep projecting buddy.
I should just be able to proxy clanrats as hobgrot vandals rightaside from a lore tidbit about helsmiths "hating" skaven there should be no problem
>>97365049Huh, funnily enough my lgs still has this one, at least according to their website. Never been the biggest fan of the vanguard guys or the palladors, though the lord is quite cool. If it was the other stormcast SC I probably woulda picked it up by now to turn into a one off spearhead or something
>>97365132just because helsmiths hate skaven doesnt mean they wouldnt use them as slaves or fodder, should be a problem, even on the lore
I know it's super unlikely but I'm looking for scans of Open War Cards from the 1st edition. Anyone happens to have such scans or maybe is willing to take pictures of the original cards? I want to turn them into a scenario-generator table.
>>97365175Is slavery even a thing in AoS? I thought all mention of it has been wiped out i.e. skavenslaves, what exactly do Kruleboyz do with the cages, chaos dwarves as a whole
>>97365220Are you compleatly fucking retarded
WHERE ARE THEY GW?! WHERE?!?!?!
Most fun Undead Spearhead? The new. all Deathrattle Spearhead looks fun af
>>97365234Nta but to be fair that's more of a metaphorical slavery, like being a slave to your desires kind of thing. Gw has been avoiding actual slavery lately, from what I hear.
Hysh.jpg
>>97365266>Gw has been avoiding actual slavery lately, from what I hear.We don't gatekeep enough it seems.
The cost really isn’t that high if you actually paint and play with the models that you buy. I will agree that the upfront cost is very high. But after that it’s very cheap for hobby hours per $. The bigger problem is that GW games all seem to be suffering from enshitification. AoS 4th is almost universally panned as the worst state the game has been in since the disastrous initial launch. HH new edition also panned across the community with many people not having moved on and playing older editions. I won’t go into detail about 40k as it’s self evidently their worst game.
Torn between collecting a Kruelboyz army, StD army or a Nurgle army...
>>97365278>Servitors are just GW’s way to copyright the concept of slavesNo…..
>>97365266Wouldn’t be surprised if it were something as simple as not wanting to allow anyone the opportunity to paint a miniature with African skin and call it a slave. Bri’ish wypipo are capable of being that racially demented.
>>97365213https://youtu.be/Yv9_bZPhJ10?si=kMnCEs_xj2EU2Bou
Would be nice to read a story about a dude making someone disown their religion in the mortal realms. Doesnt even need to involve chaos.
>>97365376I was hoping to OCR the scans and extract the text but that's a start. Thank you anon.
>>97365333>kruleboyz+ C H E A P. probably the cheapest army in the game to collect right now+ really fun and characterful models, both heroes and units+ several flexible gameplay strategies and builds despite its limited roster. easy access to teleports and ranged units make it hard to pin down and it can hit from multiple angles and be hard to defend against.- limited roster missing a lot of fundamental unit types like cavalry or elite melee- extremely RNG dependent gameplay, and one of the highest learning curves in the game. mistakes are punished heavily, cannot sustain losses and sucks at prolonged fistfights- not all units created equal, about half of their roster is good and half is very bad on the table. >StD+medium range price, elite army, easy to build and play, gets a full army with relatively few models+easy to play, performs well even with medium to low skill, lots of raw stat check units, its armored troops and cav are brick shithouses with high damage and its heroes can throw down too+good spells and strong cavalry make it deceptively fast on the table. not as immobile as it looks-kinda boring-about half the army is very undertuned (the half not wearing armor)-strategies are pretty one note, not a lot of different builds that work. can be very predictable >nurgle+just got new minis, very large range with lots of options, fairly elite so not overly expensive to collect, though it can run horde. also easy-ish to paint, nurgle spoop is pretty forgiving for new painters+absolute wall of meat that will not die, has durability, reanimation, healing and debuffs to extend survivability. excells at grinding attrition and objective control+surprisingly high build variety and wide range so you can play it lots of different ways-damage is very low outside of its damage over time. burst damage virtually non existent apart from a few key beater heroes-S L O W. the army has serious mobility problems and almost no ways to solve them
>>97364801It depends. I know Ironjawz haven't increased more than inflation (brutes 30 at launch and 40 now, shaman 20 now 25, etc). BL books are like the same?
Anyone have good examples of obsidian weapons on a mini? Does this look like obsidian?
>>97364801>he believes in infl*tionNGMI
>>97365501Unfortunately it looks like a regular rock ax. Though I think if you dunked the whole head into a dark grey contrast that would make it obsidian. Hell, even just globs of nuln oil. Obsidian has this wet shiny look to it when it’s crudely knapped like in that ax.
>>97365501I would say go for much more black than what you have and even reducing how stark some of the edge highlights are. It's ALMOST there. Mocked it up in paint with some extra black, especially in the recesses.
>>97365519Thanks guys, that's very helpful. The edited version looks much closer to what I'm aiming for.
>>97365527>>97365539Meant to reply to both of you
>>97365539>>97365546No prob. To add on to the edit, I'd also say to pick a primary light source angle and the further away an edge is from that angle, the softer the highlight it produces. Just glaze or even filter a layer black onto them until it looks right.
>>97365555Great suggestion, I was just edge highlighting/hatching without thinking about the light source
im so excited for OBR
>foot Necromancer’s head isn’t attached to the torso on the sprueDoes anyone have an example of giving him a skeleton head in a conversion?
Hey boys, does anyone have the PDF of Star Lizards 3rd edition?
How do you guys protect your cav and missilemen so they can do their job? I always feel like I get tangled in shit I don't want to and my footmen aren't very durable
>>97365865which army?
>>97365332The problem is that a very large chunk of wargamers (at least locally) are people who have joined during COVID or more recently. A lot of them don’t even have a relative measure of how good it used to be to realize that we are in deep shit now. Like the whole Bane bit, they were born in the shit, moulded by it.
>>97365264yes, the Deathrattle Spearhead is the one with the most skeletons
>>97361382Chorfs had a train.>Should transports stay a KO thing or should other factions start getting them? The way the iron deamon worked is it was a transport specifically for your other war machines, letting you move around what would normally be very slow artillery pieces much more quickly. I think Helsmiths can have this but I don't think every other factions needs or even wants a transport. I don't hate the idea of mega gargants transporting small chaff units, but I'd rather they get improved normal gargants if they were to expand the range. You can't balance a large scale war game around an army with 4 models, it just doesn't work. If gargants are ever going to stop being a meme, they need smaller normal sized gargants to fill out the roster.
>>97363931>they don't know Sigmar lied
>>97364704>tzeentch gets a new unit>bow wielding Kairics
>>97366255seems redundant, base line karirics are already kinda ranged as is.
>>97366255Between the skyfires and the daemonic units, I don't think there's much of a niche left there for a ranged unit.
>>97365278to be fair to the other anons point, during the helsmiths reveal, GW made a very big show of saying the hobgoblins are NOT slaves and are "vassals" who get weapons and armor from the dwarfs.
>>97365501you don't want matte black for obsidian, obsidian is shiny. You want a glossy black and then edge highlight with white.
>>97366259>>97366269I don't think it's likely, I was just thinking of a worst case scenario. We all know it's going to be another underwhelming foot hero to shove in the next spearhead box.
>>97366292I can think of two ways that could still make me happy. One would be for a priest of some sort, the other would be a new plastic herald to replace the one they lost.
>>97366292I know this sounds weird but the faction is actually in need of more specialized heros.
>>97366351>a priest of some sortMindstealer Hierosphiranx.
>>97366366>50% of the battletome is heroesWhile I really want a refresh of Blue Scribes, Tzeentch actually doesn't need more heroes.
>>97366232I think Stormcast should get a big dragon that carries them around in lightning form and the gimmick is that it gets a once per game attack where the dragon hurls the lightning at the opponent and regardless of whether it wounds or not thw Stormcast they were holding are in battle with the target now.
>>97366423eh, Ihe stormcast air dropping via lighting bolt and deep striking while doing damage is already cool enough. I think a dragon throwing or dropping them off would be less cool. Sigmar lighting teleports feel much more thematic than any transport for SCE could be.
>>97366415it kind of does as long as they arent shit. tzeentch is a sorcerer cabal, it should be running very hero heavy and slinging spells and summoning daemons. granted this is an absolute dogshit edition for that fantasy to actually work with the attrocious 3 spell lore system they have for battletomes now and complete destruction of the summoning systems.
>>97366601I think it's less of a "tzeentch needs more heroes" problem and more of a "tzeentch heroes need better rules and points cost" problem. I like the birds, but I wish I had any reason to list build with the other heroes. Maybe it'll get fixed in the new book, who knows.
Predictions for the friday spoilers?I m thinking they might spoil the next edition of either AoS or 40k
>>97366631both i guess. i mean how many robe wearing sorcerers do they actually even have? like 1?
>>97366652I've said this before but Tzeentch should have robe wearing cultist infantry. Kairics already cast spells *sort of* so it would fit to have them actually look like wizards.
