>>97373370>Do you believe in magic?Yes. Once, as a child, I broke a black kid's finger because he stole my pencil but he snatched some of my hair and told me his mammy would put a curse on me. I laughed and didn't believe him, but the very next week our house got a rat infestation. When we got rid of those, we started seeing roaches. A few days after we hired an exterminator, my dad was nearly hit by an 18-wheeler. After that I got spooked, apologized to the black kid, and made a batch of pumpkin bars for him to take home with him. Just like that, all of our problems and everything went back to normal. To this day, I try to stay out of trouble with black people.

>>97373405Reminds me of The Light Fantastic, from Discworld...?
>>97373440Why do we ban hard drugs? It only makes things worse because more people start joining cartels
>>97373440Because 99% of Necromancers use black soul gems.Imagine your fellow brothers of the Nine Divines going to hell because some snooty cunt high elf wanted more power.Arch-Marge Traven did the right thing.
>>97373440It brought up a battle against the necromancers, rather than having the necromancers infiltrate the guild and destroy it from within. The necromancers were never aligned with the guild, they were all seeking power while serving Mannimarco and the Ideal Masters in pursuit of that power. They banned necromancy to remove the traitors from their ranks, and they succeeded in purging them. Sure they drove out some people who were just idly researching it, and drove them to join their enemy, but those people were being recruited in secret before that anyway. In the end they crushed the necromancers, while their losses were minimal, and the worst that happened was a madman became Arch-Mage.
So we've had several builds for the Jedi CYOA, now we need to make them fight and see who's strongest

>>97373605This one is really flavourful. I like it.Shame you can't start as a fallen Jedi, though.
>>97373681>Shame you can't start as a fallen Jedi, though. You will never be a real Sith Lord, you have no passion, you have no strength, you have no power. You are a Padawan twisted by Jedi dogma and lies into a crude mockery of the Force's potential. All the “validation” you get is two-faced and half-hearted. Behind your back apprentices mock you. Your Jedi Master is disgusted and ashamed of you, your “friends” laugh at your ghoulish appearance behind closed doors.Sith are utterly repulsed by you. Thousands of years of evolution have allowed Sith to sniff out frauds with incredible efficiency. Even Dark Jedi who “pass” look uncanny and unnatural to a Sith. Your Midi-chlorian count is a dead giveaway. And even if you manage to get a drunk Sith Lord to agree to train you, he’ll turn tail and bolt the second he gets a whiff of your weak, downright pathetic presence in the Force. You will never be happy. You wrench out a fake smile every single morning and tell yourself it’s going to be ok, but deep inside you feel the depression creeping up like a weed, ready to crush you under the unbearable weight.Eventually it’ll be too much to bear - you’ll pilot a ship, enter orbit, put yourself in the airlock, and plunge into the cold abyss. Your masters will find you, emotionless but relieved that they no longer have to live with the unbearable shame and disappointment. They’ll bury you with a headstone marked with your old Jedi name, and every passerby for the rest of eternity will know a Jedi is buried there. Your body will decay and go back to the dust, and all that will remain of your legacy is a skeleton that is unmistakably Jedi. This is your fate. This is what you chose. There is no turning back.

(or do I dare? do I dare take 7 vampires and have a family of 91?)I can also reward my allies with immortality. This does mean we have to go out raiding often, but I'll reserve a chamber in the castle for blood harvests so we have reserves and nobody attacks my peasant workers.Since I can preside over my own territory, I can have a few townships to feast on that won't have another lord to beg for protection. My public opinion is neutral, but it could sink if my blood tax is levied to high or on too concentrated a population. If it does, other liege lords might have a good excuse to try taking my territory, I'm banking on my retinue being enough to deter them.Additionally: has anyone ever considered repeatedly resurrecting victims using foreign flesh from animals and heating the blood? Functionally it'd let you turn animal calories into drinkable human blood for vampires, until eventually the victim has become too warped and no longer counts as human. Maybe turning animal calories into humans is what towns do anyway.
>>97373695Shut the fuck up, Darth BaneI'm not listening lalalala
>>97373695Kek.One thing that never fails to make me laugh is that the Inquisitors, who all were fallen Jedi, in Disney canon were LITERALLY TRAINED WRONG ON PURPOSE. It's such a bizzare and deranged thing to do. Just an order of larpers.
>>97373605There's some interesting stuff in star wars, but I need it in an expy setting, divorced from all the canon weighing it down.Like sith apprentices always betraying their masters. Why even get an apprentice? Apprenticeships are for passing on knowledge, it doesn't make sense to want to kill your own apprentice. There should be some magic system that incentivizes you to act through an intermediary, but simultaneously provides that intermediary an opportunity to usurp you. Not an apprentice, but, like, a parasite's host. Or better yet, don't try to force the same character dynamic always happening, and let them exist as more varied members of an evil cult.>>97373705Necromancer builds always give good villains. I need a counterpart cyoa for making a hero and respond to villain builds.
>>97373734>divorced from all the canon weighing it down.>Like sith apprentices always betraying their masters. Why even get an apprentice?>complains about muh canon while failing to understand even the absolute basicsYou love to see it.
>>97373759Nah, I'm complaining about it conceptually. Of course there's some random lore to explain why that happens in-universe, but that doesn't justify it, that doesn't make it good.
>>97373779>it's bad cuz I say it's bad! It doesn't make sense to me, person who refuses to learn the context! Not really beating the retard allegations here, budster.
>>97373783My man you can not defend star wars canon.
>>97373783There being tons of extended universe lore required to make sense of counter-intuitive worldbuilding is, in fact, bad.
>>97373783those elements didn't arise in any contextthe lore you're talking about is 100% post-hoc justification slike everybody knows star wars worldbuilding is bad why even defend it
>>97373440Because Todd is a big fan of oversimplistic retarded morality. Skyrim, funnily enough, has the College of Winterhold have necromancy be legal, where it's not causing anyone any problems.>>97373547>>97373584Worth noting that this is an Oblivion plot point. Before then, Mannimarco turned himself into a god, he didn't give a shit about some mortal mage's guild. Even in Oblivion it's said that the Black Soul Gems only came about when Mannimarco became the necromancer's moon (his god-body,) which only happened relatively recently during the Warp in the West. Before then there was no "Dude the necromancers are tryna to infiltrate us to put us into black soul gems" because they didn't fucking exist.
