Let's try it again editionPrevious thread:>>97275454 >What is /awg/?A thread to talk about minis and games which fall between the cracks, or peoples' homebrew wargames. The >>>/tg/hwg thread doesn't entertain fantasy (for good reason) and the other threads are locked to more specific games. This thread isn't tied to a game, a publisher, or a genre, let's just talk about fun wargames. Any scale, any company, any miniatures.>Examples of games that qualify.A Song of Ice and Fire, Argatoria, Batman Miniature Game, Carnevale, Conquest: The Last Argument of Kings,Deadzone, Dragon Rampant, Dropfleet and Dropzone Commander, Freebooter's Fate, Frostgrave, Gaslands, HeroClix,Kings of War, Maelstrom's Edge, Malifaux, Marvel Crisis Protocol, Masters of the Universe: Battleground, Moonstone,Oathmark, OnePageRules, Open Combat, RelicBlade, Rumbleslam, SAGA, StarCraft, Stargrave, Sludge, Urban War, Void,Warcaster, Warmachine, Xenos Rampant, Xenotactics......and anything else that doesn't necessarily have a dedicated thread.>Examples of companies providing rules and/or miniatures for alternative wargames.Archon Studio, Atomic Mass Games, Black Site Studios, CMON, Goblin King Games, Mantic, North Star Military Figures,OnePageRules, Osprey, Para Bellum, Seb Games, Spellcrow, TTCombat, Victrix, Wargames Atlantic, Warlord Games......and many other publishers.>Places to get minis; Updates to the minis list are welcome.https://docs.google.com/document/d/1D2DbNJ2mYAUxh5P9Pq9NZqS5tXHGn0i2JhZchEwbA2I/edithttps://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/373197.page>Novice Troves, meant to serve as a sampler of available systems. >>97387443If you don't purpose build terrain for each game, you never beat the game.
>>97387482Mostly true, but also if you built a nice set of "European Countryside in Summer" terrain it works with 90% of games you will ever play, and then you can custom make a few specialty pieces for individual games
>Does terrain plays an important role in your games or you use whatever table and makeshift available to build it?Yes, both.
>>97387443I think terrain is extremely important but don't have the time or patiences right now to make full fledge battlefields with unique terrain for scenarios and all that. But terrain and painted miniatures (even poorly painted) make the game 100% more enjoyable.
What the hell happened to this? I thought it was supposed to come out last year, then it was delayed till this year but there's no date in sightAlso for some reason they are already selling minis, but not the full range, in combination to the Gundam card game?? What is going on
>>97387443>TQYes, it's an important part for immersion and for influencing actual gameplay.I've mostly built it myself. I'd like to make a few more pieces, especially watery pieces like creeks, ponds or bogs. Any tips on making those?
>>97387843it was always gonna be 2026they wanted to have their cake and eat it by selling deluxe starter decks with figures but not competing with themselves by dropping a gundam tcg and miniature game at the same timeits getting demos at events mid February
>>97388528Water is tricky because every single person does it differently. I've tried lots of methods but the easiest and best looking is to paint the water on and then use glossy modpodge painted on top of the water to give it a wet shimmery look. Don't bother messing around with two part epoxy resins, it's very expensive and hard to do well.
I found Asymmetric Warfare but it seems a little small in scale. Is there bigger stuff?
